ive started backing loughteen blanco last few months always liked the dog and fancied it for a crack at the derby when it won its first comp think it was at hove when come straight over from ireland, thought connections were mad to run him at monmore in 416m comp but its there dog so can do as they please and hes really impressed me last couple of runs at monmore and hove fingers crossed he stays fit and well
also farloe warhawk only half the price of blanco but style of running puts him way ahead of eske and tango in my opinion and think couple of decent runs between now and derby could see him easy go off 7-1 or 8-1 fav |

By:
ive backed nothing yet for the irish greyhound derby yet, assuming thats the one you are talking about. It would be nice to see blanco and warhawk over here but we'll have to wait and see how they get on in that lesser contest at wimbledon

irish is that the one which comes on 30 mins before the race on some dodgy internet site and you cant understand them?
bit like watching iraq news channel ![]() i backed the winner last year and cant think of its name but remember it was 2-1f bit bad really |
By:
Best way to remember it is it's the Derby that is not ran around a piss drenched hellhole

I've backed Bert at 220

I took some overseas friends to 'Don on Sat. Paid £25 a head for food in rest, everyone's food was poor. I ordered pork loin and they brought out what looked like old boiled ham from Xmas, which was 40% fat. Was going to complain, but then thought there was good chance a) it came from the loin and b)that technically it was pork

agree prem only been once said i wouldnt go again until money spent on it to bring it up to scratch worse track ive ever been to in regards to being run down and having scaffholding up and that includes the flapping tracks ive been to like holding the fa cup final on a local park pitch
the meal was worse ive had at a dog track and waitress was up for fighting anybody who asked her for anything |
By:
I've absolutely no idea who to back, the Irish runners that would interest me are not with trainers who regulary go so no idea if they will travel so not backing them as of yet.
If Eden Star had not have had so many problems i'd consider playing him but he seems a bit of a risky ante post bet to me. Warhawk didn't really impress me during the Laurels, i know he won and it was great to see him do it the hard way but i expected him to be showing more to the corner Eske around Wimbledon, i'm still not sold despite his 2nd in the Puppy Derby. Tango - next. Bubbly Phoenix looks a fair price, see how he comes back. I'll probably leave it to close to the comp this year if i'm playing. |
By:
i took kids and mrs to monmore the other week spare of moment thing booked it teatime kids £12 each 3 course meal gave them same steak as i had, cheese board was massive left over half of it £28 adults couldnt fault it go again a few times when puppy derbys on
By:
agree prem
I think blanco looks best that will suit track and take part, followed by phoenix. blanco looks far too big compared to eske, warhawk, tango reckon of Irish dogs that will come - priceless sky and droopys jet look most interesting. reckon Scottish Derby will be good pointer. I'm not playing until comp starts, given the prices |

blanco age not a worry?? to anyone
By:
theres always something that comes from nowhere. i wonder if the real ep types may be in each others way, especially if Glenmire Lad turns up and keeps qualifying - he reminds me of Tims Crow, who i also never gave a prayer to. cant see him staying too well for too long but he'd be a thorn.
Droopys Hope for me I reckon, course experience, wide to miss the real railers ep and stays to keep qualifying, but theres bound to be loads of others I suppose |
By:
no probs there fatty dont know stats but reckon at a guess most derby winners aged around 3-3and1/2 years old be interesting stat to know out of interest
By:
Droopys Jet goes to Shawfield and then Wimbledon Swayne, Fraser doesn't think he ran Wimbledon well last year and i tend to agree. Shows what a good dog he is that he still made the semi finals.
By:
DML, I was at Romf and back Glenmire mid Nov at I think 4/5 I thought he was best thing ever and he steamed up, but the next week the pup Bonamassa Rocks nailed him from behind down BS I could not believe it, thankfully I could not get to Rom that nigt but would have backed him in aheart beat, I just wonder if Glenmire has to have things his own way and doesnt like company, which would not be good for him at the Don

By:
my nipper loves droopys jet hes started having a couple of quid eways on him for english derby cant see it myself but scottish derby would be a real fancy
By:
dipped my toes in just a little but of the irish id fancy cull dog seems a wimbo type to me
33/1 thou little short |
By:
also pretty sweet on lemon pluto at few prices
hope mr lister gets him back to his lighting breaks his form ait to bad |
By:
farloe barracuda 1595 30s sheff won over 480m
By:
Is Mags Gamble ok after his fall back in November?
If he is ok and going for it then 50/1 is huge. Bags of early and gets 480m easy. Only downside to him is his age... he will be 3 years and 9 months come derby time. Also are there any plans to bring back Judicial Ruling for 1 last crack? A very lightly raced dog but again age is a factor as he is also 3 years and 9 months come Derby time. Definitely worth an each way though as he ran the track superbly. 100/1 is huge if he does run. |
By:
good luck on that bet zach
mags gamble is a bigger one hit wonder than chesney hawkes imho although if he got on the bunny he could well be a fastest of the night winner in a early roun |
By:
didnt mags win 2 Cat 1's one unbeaten?
By:
thought he just won the newcastle comp when everyman and his dog north of keele services was on and he was five clear after 6 strides
By:
He won the Gold Cup at Monmore and the All England Cup at Newcastle, was also in the semis of the Stell Cup and Eclipse i think
By:
ive just looked hes done better than i thought all england cup 10k and monmore gold cup 10k shawfield comp 1500 i was away for monmore gold cup and forget what i back but think it went out first round so didnt pay much interest
would of thought better chance winning scottish derby myself as he has won a comp around there already |
By:
Does anyone know anything about Judicial Ruling coming back over?
By:
He hasn't been on the track since last years Derby Final so i wouldn't be backing him
By:
Cant be having Droopys Jet, but Priceless Sky could be a big player if coming over. What's happened to JFK, one last crack with a new trainer?
Got little bets Blanco myself at 40/1 and Perky 80/1 but mainly would cop big with any of Draper's dogs: 50/1 Eske, 33/1 Warhawk or 25/1 Eden |
By:
Pluto a fair pick, be good to see how much he improves over the next 6 weeks or so
By:
pluto ran at monmore when i was last up there came 2nd in 29.06 clear run maybe lost a length first bend no more than that tho think it lead 2nd bend got collared around last bend or on runin
blanco done a 28.39 same night so track was running good remember thinking pluto must of had a niggle i wouldnt put anybody off backing anything there money there choice but would wait to check dogs sound before i backed it myself charlie will soon find out the problem if he hasnt already it looked a real prospect last year so somthing gone wrong somewhere dont like seeing good dogs taken away from trainers to go to the big boys but dont blame connections on this occasion |
By:
another very good run by blanco last night 4.26 sec not seen any that fast for a while wont be the fastest dog in the derby by a long way but getting out in front will upset a lot of the so called good dogs and could be a few dummies spat out when they realise there not infront at the first bend

As said, relying heavily on Draper but got a formidable team already, imo. Just been looking at the Irish and some big outsiders.
Got a feeling the Irish could come up light this year with maybe Droopys Jet the only real main contender, coz Priceless Sky and Paradise Madison not sure to come over, are they PF? Hills go out on a limb with Madison at 28/1 anyway. Would be part of my list with a run, great dog and still rate Priceless Sky. Looking at much bigger prices, it just goes to show Draper's strength in depth coz i'm swaying towards 66/1 Farley Semour and 80/1 Farloe Barracuda. 70/1 Hather George and 100/1 both Bridges Honcho and Ruth could be worth looking at. Dont know the status of Tynwald Bolt but must have broken a leg looking at 312/1 on Betfair |
By:
PS, found one not mentioned yet, will let you know nearer the time
By:
Just seen 29/1 Madison on here and 35/1 Sky. The Irish are mustard for a bringing over a dark horse or two though
By:
Priceless Sky will go for it, Paradise Madison won't
By:
Camas 225.13 €28.67 €6,425.83
Rockchase Bullet 1000 €5.81 €5,804.19 all i have played so far for pennies, 2 NRs probably , don't think Camas will go but he's a 25s shot if he does turn up, Bullet is over in England now and while he has never found his 2011 Derby form he ain't a 1000 shot imo |
By:
Ta, not sure about Lister this year. He could re-spark Lemon Pluto on good going, he could get Alien Planet to peak and Golden Wonder potential but think he'll take the puppy route. Quite a few questions there, imo. Quite like, considered lesser light, Hather George though
By:
Oh, omitted Farloe Tango. The dog has a mind of his own and may not even run, despite his high ranking in the betting, a very risky proposition
By:
Someone must read this stuff. 365 have just slashed Barracuda into 50/1 from 80/1!
