OK I'll hold my hands up. My first Derby Final was in 1969 when Sand Star (tp 4) beat Kilbelin Style (tp 2) with Ploverfield Dan (tp 2) in third. I've also went racing at Charlton, Hendon, West Ham, Southend and Southall!

Hendon, one of the nicest tracks I ever went to, could order a pint of beer, take two steps, watch the race, take two steps back and carry on drinking. Although my main track was always White City.

Sad sight indeed..this is the second time the travellers have descended on the Stow car park. I spent 40 minutes getting around the Billet roundabout the other night. With 800 new residents and a busy bus garage earmarked you can only feel sorry for local residents of what was once a vibrant and special place for Londoners.
