Better to be lucky than good. And Scottie sure is the former.. did the same with the bunker shot in match play final.

He's getting away with it, but he still needs to stop hitting everything miles left.

didn't see that 2 shot swing coming, but Smith won't go away, and Scheffler needs to tidy up his driving.

His swing and leg action can’t stand up under the most intense pressure. This completely different level to a WGC event etc. He looks like an octopus putting up a deckchair mid swing….

Smith in bogey territory in the bunker on 5. Not since Charl's win has there been a bigger swing on the early holes on masters Sunday.

Smith needed to put the pressure on, there by getting closer, but he's put it in the same hollow as Scheffler.

Nerves are gone, Scottie just playing a round of golf now. The hole out changed everything.

Yep. Amazing. I think that doesn't go in it goes 10 ft by and Smith stichches his.

the lucky chip seems to have rattled Smith and settled Scheffler. Fine from a betting point of view, but I would've liked to see some excitement. Not quite over yet, but Smith needs Scheffler to start pulling his drives again.

Cant back-up what I'm saying, but would be interesting to know what McIlroy's scores in majors with different players are - focusing on their pace of play.

Mc Ilroy just now on the 12th - straight-up, club, shot, moving on. He's playing with Morikawa (wondering if he is fast also). If he was playing with Spieth he'd still be on the tee-box with Spieth jabbering away non-stop. Its well-known McIlroy hates playing with Spieth as he spends most of the time standing around waiting for him.

Just curious, never really know I suppose.

McIlroy needs blinkers, cheekpieces and a hood for rounds 1,2 and 3

Eagle putt for Rory. Fair play to him. I didn't think he would be in this position.

Sorry - what I'm getting at is, I suspect one of McIlroy's weaknesses is that he is poor at playing at different tempos.  He is definitely one of the faster players, many on the PGA Tour are excruciatingly slow.

If you play golf you'll know that you cant always play at the tempo you prefer if you are playing with slower players. Its just part of the game.  McIlroy seems to be charging around the course at the pace he wants to play today.

Its a "suspicion" I have.

( His other definite weakness is that he is not that great in wind, surprisingly really as a lot of those Irish players (Lowry, Harrington) are ). That is not a suspicion, blatantly obvious.
