What a finish, as a group they've gone -13 for the day.

Scottie not exactly shying away from the flags

What a state golf is in, SS as world no 1 and Masters champ. All the ball strikers and talent out there and somehow a guy who literally swings it like a 12 handicapper is dominating the game.

Never has it been truer to say “ it’s a game of numbers not pictures”.

Amazing how fast it changes now. Spieth is still only 28 and it feels like he will barely be relevant going forward outside of maybe The Open. Who'd have thought that 5 years ago. DJ a dominant no 1 as little as 18 months ago now battling to be relevant. Rahm looked like becoming a dominant force now 10 months without a win. The kids are coming through at a rate of knots. Sam Burns for the PGA Cool

That’s the thing, this guy had won 4 recently, it just shows how pi$$ poor the current crop are. Too much money involved these days and a severe lack of dedication it looks like on the part of many.

1.01 SS doesn’t qualify for more than one more Ryder Cup team. Next Ricky Fowler for sure, those with a flaw in their dingalings always have been the same. A hot streak here or there, then back to playing in the Sunday 4 ball off 3hcp.

Scottie is very boring.....there is nothing about him that cries out Golf being sexy. He is boring in his play, boring in his appearance and looks emotionless

Let's hope he doesn't dominate for too long

haters will always hate..fair play to the guy i say given all his 'flaws'(allegedly) ain't done too bad

can't think of too many 12 handicappers who would lap the best golfers in the world on a course with unbelievably demanding greens!

I don’t think he’s boring as such,as he doesn’t know where it’s going at the top of his backswing… have you seen how many times he finishes with hands wrapped all around the club. Entertaining to watch for that reason alone, has a great short game though. That would have been learnt from the many years of hitting it everywhere.

Not having a go at SS as such, just the state of the game in general. Just look at the leaderboard. Rory after the horse had bolted, then Morikawa aside, most of the worlds best struggling to break par in ideal conditions.

Congrats to him

Ricky Fowler is one of the best players not to win one though (yet) he mentally weak that’s his problem

Other than maybe a bit of excitement over Tiger not a Masters that will live long in the memory. I've forgotten it and it's not even finished.

That swing on 17 is exactly what I’m talking about. Embarrassing for the rest of the players that he is beating them regularly at mo.

Agree TB, makes 3 in a row. Having a rough patch this tourney. Interesting stat for the week - Zero eagles on 15, first time since the 60's. Maybe the changes made were not so good.

Augusta doesn't really punish wayward drives too penally
lots of gaps between the trees

Yeah, you can't complain about the course not being tough enough when there's only 10 under par, maybe if anything some holes could be easier to get more guys in the mix- the changes to 15 haven't added anything. There's no denying they are getting high quality, deserving winners but it's short on thrills of late.

it's obviously more exciting when u have more in the mix in the latter stages but that is prob more a reflection of averageness
as opposed to this week when smn plays at a level others can't match

Meanwhile Rory McIlroy with maybe the best swing hasn't won since 2014.

I don't think we've seen the last of Scheffler if he wants more but that is a big if.
