Europe will probably have four points after this session and Rahm/Garcia account for three of them. LOL.
By:
Still don't think he should be there but you can't beat a Poulter fist pump at the Ryder Cup.
By:
Good to see America winning this
![]() Don’t let Europe back ! |
By:
Spieth not exactly contributing much this week is he? I've seen him in two matches and him and his partner have been hammered in both and yet the yanks lead 9-3
![]() Europe picking players based of form in it from 15 years ago ffs |
By:
Tightened up a little.
Hard to believe Hatton/Lowry are still holding on. Odds on McIlroy making some sort of contribution? Really impressed with the course. Some of those drops are testing enough just for player to navigate. Shame we don't have something as testing over here. |
By:
Awful biased commentary from Sky.
Bryson's complaint about the lack of the gimme at the 1st as branded as classless. Lowry does exactly the same thing at the 9th and they stay silent. |
By:
Imagine the whole of Europe getting thrashed by one country , America lol
By:
The yanks have the better individuals though lfc, always have done but for some reason they never produce in the Ryder Cup
They are giving them a right hiding here though |
By:
I'd sooner be on a yank in a major than say... Rory
That is for sure |
By:
Yes that is typical bias , Europe’s behaviour generally in Ryder cups has been dubious
That’s the nicest way to put it |
By:
Arrogant and smug
At least the Americans are classy enough to gob off at least The Europeans have always had this fake "gentlemens" tag when they are anything but I'd hate losing to them if I was an American |
By:
Rory who hasn't won a major in about 10 years is called the "big thing"
Arrogance its not even that its delusional |
By:
You make a lot of sense sometimes sontaran

5 picks for poulter thats foooking shocking,
if the ponces game doesnt come next years see him retiring early,he,s not a journeymen tour player if he cant compete in slams early bath |
By:
ponce out 1st tomorrow
postmen late delivery out last, 1 eagle and no birdies in 26 holes of 4 balls is shocking for the ponce |
By:
Imagine Montgomerie trying to get down one of those banks. They would need a crane.
By:
Get the feeling that after a promising session this might be about to swing away from the Euros here. Looked like they could get 3-1 might do well to get 2-2
By:
hovland would be smiling if he saw a car driving over a cliff
its like pernament |

Top lad, Shane.

By:
Us just had to draw this session for a victory lap tomorrow
Absolutely no chance Europe win 9.5 points tomorrow ![]() |
By:
The cup has become all about course set up and venue these days. The next 20 years will not see any away wins IMO

Not sure there's any setup that will stop the Yanks in two years time. Not a lot of top young Euros coming through other than Viktor and the core of that US team can go on for years and if anything only get better. I think the US are in for 3-4 in a row.
By:
Disagree.. half the US team only good when playing in an airfield to hit it anywhere. Would love to see it played at Walton Heath or Sunningdale Old, the US would be 5/1 pokes
By:
Scottie, Xander, DJ, Finau, Brooks all out the game if need to be a shot maker. They have Colin who is a class act, Bryson can adapt…. JT can’t flight it in the wind…. Maybe somewhere like Carnoustie in November is our best shout….
By:
I honestly think the difference in quality overcomes any home advantage, no matter where they play. A Yank who wasn't even in with a sniff of making the team just took a quick trip to Wentworth and won the Euro tour's flagship event. It is a massive gulf in class.
By:
But Billy is better than 4 of the captains picks. They have a strong team on the right course. But this gaff whilst looking amazing is a carzy of a course for Ryder Cup. It’s near impossible to miss fairways, greens huge and rough non existent. Which makes Poulter an even more curious pick….
By:
Xander vs. Rory
Cantlay vs. Lowry Scheffler vs. Rahm Bryson vs. Sergio Morikawa vs. Hovland DJ vs. Casey Brooks vs. Wiesberger Finau vs. Poulter JT vs. Hatton English vs. Westwood Spieth vs. Fleetwood Berger vs. Fitz |

I don't think those are very good match-ups from a EUR point of view.
I just don't see how they are going to get any more than 6 points absolute max out of them & they need err 9 to DRAW & Retain the cup. LOTM |
By:
In fact the betting is just in & it shows the USA are fav in 11 out of those 12 match-ups!
LOTM |
By:
Deary me now we have excuses that the Europeans can’t play on an American course complete tripe
It’s a golf course get out and try and score well If you are not capable that means there’s a weakness in your game |
By:
The only part of a golf course that can have an impact ( often too much) on how an individual player might score
compared to another is the green Shouldn’t be too difficult or tricked up, it can become a farce |
By:
* an unfair impact

By:
rory should be out last.

Harrington made some strange choices regarding pairings. But McIlroy, Fleetwood, Hatton,Casey, Westwood, Fitzpatrick, Poulter were an embarrassment.
I thought the Yanks would win but it would be fairly close. This mob were utterly useless. Ryder Cup in Rome looks tailor-made for the Yanks, and the European youngsters coming through are just not good enough. |
By:
Good to see we have our top man leading the charge. I think last night there was an hours coverage without showing him playing a single shot. On this evidence you would be hoping he doesn't qualify again.
Even Rahm mixed the very bad with the very good. Didn't see him hitting many fairways. |
By:
sky still trying to sell it as a great sporting occasion ... for that you need 2 sides to compete to a grandstand finish & yet its been an embarrassment from session 1
