sorry to go off on another philosophical rant but the very fact that players like woods and Koepka can seem dominant at some points in majors negates the quite common view that golf is something of a random game and with so many players anyone can win it. less luck than some would have you believe I think.

then again I am still not totally convinced if Koepka is the next dominant player, or is just a power player on a hot streak. who knows, jon rahm or Cameron champ might run up a sequence in two or three years and we'll be eulogising about them the same way.

I'm not a big fan of Bethpage tbh.  Too many holes that basically seem protected by length rather than clever design, and bookended by two incredibly mediocre wedge holes like you say.

can't really warm to Koepka. maybe that's why I never back him. just seems too cocky.

Well, he's more than a power player on a hot streak Lewisham - about to have double the majors of Day and DJ combined. I do agree though that he needs to show it on some different types of courses. I think sometimes just because someone like him can really smash it off the tee other sides of their game can be overlooked. Btw, did anyone else not notice the wipe he does on the putter until the comms pointed it out?

then again at least signs that some are kicking against their fate. dj vs brooks final pairing would be interesting.

Remove Koepka and we'd have a really interesting finish - just the way it goes sometimes. I'm sure people that weren't on Rory didn't love the procession - speaking of that, is it 5 years without a major for Rory now?

Have to agree TB, if you're hitting long and str8 this isn't enough of a test (for Koepka at least) - maybe I was expecting too much from this place and had built it up in my mind
