Sprinkler heads don't grow 100 year old 100 feet up and obstruct your shot...
Clearly a different thing entirely. You said: Play it where it lies, or take a penalty. Make you're mind up FFS. |

Johnson just so solid when he's in contention, makes very few mistakes. combine that with rors poor final rounds these days, and you get a predictable result.

doesn't surprise me that story about holmes.
slow-play priick trying all sorts of tricks. |

Make my mind up on a completely different rule to the one being enforced and discussed or your interpretation on what I meant FFS.?

Beyond all the furore, pretty poor from Rory being over par, look at the scores around..
Hes got some issues. |

such a shame this has turned into a procession

True sewter, but there aren't many that are as enjoyable to watch as DJ when firing on all cylinders

Note the dramatic improvement in Rory's play since the point where he could no longer realistically win the tournament.

you don't fancy rory for the masters then tb?

You obviously can't rule him out because when he doesn't get in his own way or isn't under pressure he's as good as anyone. But the run of non-winning top 5s continues and that needs to be fixed.

the first 6 holes were crucial
DJ opened the door and was wobbling but Rory just seems incapable of applying any pressure DJ holed important long putts for pars but they should have been made much more difficult by Rory. As for the rulings I don't like the rules, they are open to manipulation. However, imo Rory simply wasn't strong enough either when DJ was getting his ruling or when not asking for a second opinion. Can you imagine Sevvy or Tiger accepting that-especially with DJ just having got a very similar, favourable ruling? Mickleson, Fritelli and Grace to name 3 got some ridiculous, recent rulings. |

ps let's keep the banter going all year (and not just the Majors) it's much more enjoyable to watch the tourney and
share the thoughts/opinions of forumites. |

what I find amusing is that after every impressive winner (rose and dechambeau have already earned that accolade) said winner becomes the "new favourite for the masters." https://www.golfdigest.com/story/vegas-makes-dustin-johnson-the-new-masters-favorite-following-dominant-win-at-wgc-mexico-championship
not sure DJ proved anything new there, that we didn't already know about him- that he's a top-class golfer who is a standing dish at bomber friendly tracks. presumably whoever wins the honda will become "the new favourite for the masters". ![]() |

Indeed. I have long been of the opinion that the general run of sports commentary is nothing but space-filling blather.
