If doesn't get it should walk off course
By:
well done Mike stewart ...sussed him...
By:
Farcical.....
By:
big time...have look JS..
By:
hehe cheat...
By:
He's not even had his foot on the path at any stage
By:
Cheating like DJ. Different outcome.
By:
Oh dear, cant hit the ball from that angle Rory............
By:
that fecking referee should not be questioning the shot that the player wants to play
By:
Why didn't get a 2nd opinion then ?
By:
And that's your ball game. Oh well.
By:
he should've.
By:
As I said dumber than DJ.
Golf rules screw the entire tournament... Well done. Congratulations on making it better. |
By:
he basically thought if dj got it I,d get it,
By:
Golf is a farce. DJ didn't deserve a drop as his ball was stuck right behind a tree. Doesn't matter about the path in that instance. A farce
By:
rory actually said to reff same as dj,hoping the reff wouldn't look to closely at it
By:
RM trying to argue angle he would be hitting ball at..(and inherent stance) merited a drop
would have taken a big chunk of tree trunk...on that angle ;-) |
By:
doesn't matter it was a valid shot. fecking bubba was in the middle of a bush once and claimed that his shot line was affected by animal damage
By:
Let's not forget in reality Rorys drive was actually the ****g problem, after getting within 2,not hit a good shot since.
By:
Braindead from Rory....pathetic stuff.
By:
this just shows the ridiculous ruling that fritzeeli got that day when he claimed he was gonna go one way , got a drop and went the other way. golfers nowadays have no morals and even less shame.
By:
that fecking referee should not be questioning the shot that the player wants to play
Of course they can, but he should have been questioning the shot DJ wanted to play as well because neither needed to stand on the path. they where both cheating! |
By:
dj got longer legs
By:
rule 325 a , ive hit a crap shot , i don't like where its gone so i want to put it somewhere nicer so please give me a free drop
By:
the ref should say , if you want the drop then u stand the way you're standing to get the drop
By:
worst thing to come from it for dj is hes gonna win by a mile and has showed himself up for 1 stroke that he probably won't need
By:
Just get rid of cart path relief. They don't put them down the middle of the fairway, you hit it that far off line you play it. Speed the game up a bit too.
By:
tb , they cant gert rid of cart path for all year round players use it
By:
i agree with if u hit it that far wide play it
tho |

Sickoflay
I chatted to ref from last Open at St Andrews Was ref on JB Holmes match i think it was 5th hole JB drives ball in to gorse bu**** sitting 4 or 5 feet off ground in gorse bush He calls for ref Claiming line of sight due to TV tower some 200 yds down towards green May also have asked for the 2nd opinion as ref declined 2nd opinion declined.. In seconds he picks up ball and takes a penalty drop I reckon rules should state that in that instance if free drop declined he should be forced to play it as it lies Would stop stuff like that with players just chancing it many tournaments referees bullied by top players.. as i said well done Mike stewart... |
By:
in the fritzelli incident the ref asked the other player (cant remember who) who said straight away it should not be a free drop. he said "look its nothing to do with me but i don't think for one moment that should be a freee drop" he walked around saying he couldn't believe what had taken place
By:
Play it where it lies, or take a penalty.
No doubt will look at it again seen as effectively it has fooled up a huge televised tourney and there will be a big stramash to follow. Again... |
By:
Play it where it lies, or take a penalty.
What if it's on a sprinkler head ? |
By:
radars come up with the answer , only get a drop off the path if the ball sits on it
By:
sprinkler heads different
By:
Not if you're going strict liability "play it where it lies, or take a penalty" where do you draw the line ? Agree about cart path idea though.
By:
also agree with Radar on cart path....free drop only if it sits on path
By:
by playing it kack handed rory showed he was never hitting the shot he told the reff he was hitting,in fact he,d have hit the tree with his club trying it, we,ll never no what shot dusty would have taken if the ruling was declined
By:
Ha, "tough luck there for DJ" says Nick. Yeah, I'd say DJ is just about still ahead in the luck stakes this week.
By:
Sprinkler heads don't grow 100 year old 100 feet up and obstruct your shot...
Clearly a different thing entirely. You must take away the allowance for a toe being on a path allowing a free drop. Just a joke. We all know both at it as do players and ref,yet it's still open to interpretation. It shouldn't be... |
