At least Ben An can look back fondly on the time he started eagle-birdie in a WGC.

Yep sure does, wouldn't back him with stolen Silly

From my point of view a very pleasing start to the tournament, have done some number crunching and have the following book:

The Field + 1351.64
Leishman +14611.14 (got a bit carried away here, thought he had a decent chance pre-tourney, he then drove the first green so chucked some more dough at him whereupon he proceeded to capitulate from his second putt onwards Sad).

Get the feeling I've gone too early but can't turn down 1300 notes profit/nice chilled weekend after one round of golf. Good luck if you're still in the game Cool

Kuchar looked pretty good to me yesterday and 20/1 still seems a more than fair price given his recent form, so a small bet on him to stop me kicking myself if he wins

Just stuck £15 on yerman Tigger there @ 80's.
They'll probably back him into 50's before he tees off!

and also whether Tyrrell can do the same

That's always the question with Rory.  The great thing with this course is that it has plenty of birdies in it to reward the good shots but it punishes the bad shots pretty severely, hence the scoring average being over par despite the fact that to look at it you'd think the field would tear it apart.

But what that means is that, as brilliant as he was in the first round, Rory can't really afford the mistakes and brain-farts he tends to chuck in, as things can go backwards quickly here.  Same goes for DJ.  I thought JT did well to put up a score despite not really being at his best, especially after last Sunday, and he looks like the guy who could keep it steady for 4 days if Rory and DJ go boom and bust.

I agree TB it's a really good course and looking at yesterday if you're slightly off course you can have a bad score
really quickly.

I didn't see all of Rory's round but he did appear to have thought a bit more about the short irons-something he didn't do last week

Xander Schauffele, added a Fiver @ 38's.

Bad mistake on Ricks part.

The shot OB was, but it shouldn't really be a penalty there.  It's disadvantageous to drop from shoulder height rather than knee height, and these guys have been doing it their whole lives from shoulder height so it's just another stupid golf thing to penalise them.
By:

It's a new rule they brought in, and Rickie should be aware of it.
I bet he won't be doing that again in a hurry!
By:
Total Bosman
When: 22 Feb 19 18:39
Got to look at the caddie for that one, can understand Rickie being fried after hitting it OB but the caddie watched him drop it and didn't spot it.  No penalty if he realises and re-drops correctly.

Rory seems to have worked golf out...just drive every green and you will make a good score!

Agree, Tiger going very nicely for his second round on the course.  Playing pretty conservative but slow and steady might get rewards here.
