THE COURSE...........Aronimink GC, Newtown Square, Philadelphia.............Course Par 70..........Course Yardage: 7190.......... classical, tree-lined course

COURSE FORM...........sadly not very informative as had big changes such as it used to have 74 bunkers, it now features 175...........6 acres more fairway making the 20% wider.

TOURNAMENT KEY STAT.........although played on a variety of courses one stand out stat in my opinion is........FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS THE WINNER HAS BEEN IN THE TOP 3 AFTER 2ND ROUND, 4 TIMES IN 1ST PLACE..

more to follow.......

Looks like it's going to be hot.

Reported by Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press, "Hideki pulls out of pro-am after 9 with heat exhaustion." With the heat index approaching 100 degrees we shouldn't look too much into this, but it should be noted. We are set to see similar weather tomorrow in Philly. Matsuyama arrives on the heels of three straight top 15s and should still be considered a strong fantasy play this week at Aronimink Golf Club.

Given the afternoon heat (and possible storms) forecast for tomorrow they could easily have started 4 hours earlier when it's cooler, but I guess TV rules over logic and player / fan well-being.

Bryson surely runs out of gas?
Half the price anyhow, like a few rags this week, many distracted by Ryder cup, many focused on a cheque...
Plenty big prices around....

Bryson also guaranteed to be number 1 going into east lake as well.

That said he is on a roll at the moment so wouldn't be surprised to see him in the mix once again

Playing so well could get up there but just a decent week be fine for him, can't go to the well every week.
No value for me so leave this week

Hoping for a surprise winner or a rag to get in the mix, take half a dozen or so.

Would be a shrewd move for Bryson to rest up this week and be fresh for the big one at Eastlake ! Hoping the great man finally gets over the line again this week as would be great to see him back in the winners enclosure !

Bubba and Webb ew for me. Bubba coming off his best ever finish at Boston and finishing one of his best ever years strongly. Webb has had some magic rounds the past weeks and just needs to put 2 of them together and avoid any bad rounds. Both proven winners on pure bentgrass. 4 each, that's the same as DJ, Tiger and Day.

Any other year and on current form both would be priced in the 30s, but available at 60s now thanks to the crazy strength in depth this year.

Also both getting time in the featured groups at some point so getting some excitement in running at least. GL

I get what you are saying Jedi half the odds of last week so on one level doesn't offer the same value but he may well be still be excellent value. He has picked up more world  ranking points than anyone else this year. He has along with bubba and DJ the most wins this season, he is top of the fed ex cup points and coming off back to back wins yet is currently in a 3 way tie for 5th in the betting!

There have been a number of players in recent years who have had great spells and thrust themselves in to the equation of best player. With Dechambeau I think we could be looking at something very special going forward His amateur career was outstanding in 2015 he joined only Jack, Phil, Tiger and Ryan more in winning the ncaa and us amateur in the same year. He is quirky, different in how he approaches things but also highly talented and his trajectory is ever upwards.

think they're going well really. not that easy a course. surely even you johnny can't knock rory and rickie so far in this tournament.

just tiger showing why he's a class act really. he's played well this year but this is the first time he's looked like the 2000 vintage. also you mention his putting, I watched last week and felt he could have won by a few shots if he putted anywhere near normal, now he looks comfortable again with his scotty cameron the skys the limit this week.

of course he's far from winning this yet...
By:

When: 06 Sep 18 20:46
he can win next week or 2 weeks time actually, isn't it..l r..when i haven't laid him at what i considered too skinny prices for this juncture of a tournamentWink
