If all the birdies in Hawaii don't interest you, check out the scoring on the web.com, seems to be a tad breezy in the Bahamas.  Kinda rather they switch to that for some fun TBH.

Most birdies since the start of the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season: Justin Thomas 881, Danny Lee 856, Tony Finau 845.

Justin Thomas was succinct when answering how he turned around his Kapalua fortunes after a poor showing at last year’s SBS Tournament of Champions.
“I just prepared, actually, this year,” he said with a laugh. Thomas finished the 2016 tournament in a tie for 21st some 19 shots behind friend/winner Jordan Spieth and now leads by two at 18-under on Sunday as he looks to claim a third PGA TOUR win. “I obviously practiced and prepared last year, but I just didn't as much as I should have,” he continued. “I didn't take it like a normal event. I mean, this is a great, great opportunity to win a golf tournament. This is your best chance, you would say. Obviously, the winners, they are all great players, but I'll take my chances over 32 versus 144 every single week.”

Having also missed the cut in the 2016 Sony Open and 2016 Career Builder Challenge, Thomas was mindful of being ready in 2017. “I feel like I'm to the point where I should be contending most of the weeks I play." - Justin Thomas on his 2017 attitude.

He still had fun in his off-season but made sure he got back to work well in advance of his trek to Maui, refusing to treat the trip as any sort of vacation. “These last couple weeks, I really tried to kind of hone it in and get ready for the start of this year,” he said. “The main thing I focused in the off-season was my driving. I think if I can drive it a lot straighter or even just a little straighter, there's no reason I shouldn't be in contention, or be at least around the hunt going into the weekend, or come Sunday.

This is so slow to watch. Non stop ad-breaks, be it Sky's or the yanks.

Thought Walker was good for a place after Thursday. For a chunk on him last week. Slipping away from the top four...

Feeling a tad robbed when I look at Jordan's performance today. Obviously now the bookies will slash his price for the Sony and he will not be a great price. 5/1 Maybe.

REMEMBER:
A brilliant Justin Thomas successfully defended his CIMB Classic title in KUALA LUMPUR (KL), Malaysia firing a final round eight-under-par 64 to overturn a four-shot deficit at the start of the day while Japan's Hideki Matsuyama birdied the last two holes to sign for a 66 and claim second place on 20-under.

World #6 Justin Rose will wait a bit longer to get back in action for 2018, skipping this week's Sentry Tournament of Champions - qualified with a win at the WGC-HSBC Champions but he's decided to sit this week out - he teed it up here in 2011 but hasn't returned since, despite qualifying five (now six) more times.

World number 1 being disrespected a bit being 4th in betting no? Was injured here last year so put a line through that, was 3rd on his solo trip to Kapalua. I'll take the 14s.

Never too sure with this event how fine tuned the guys are. The event has a wider spectrum of styles in the winner.

One to wait and see how they start for me.

Just 33 Players - No NA (finger injury & signs with Callaway) - in the SENTRY TOURNAMENT of CHAMPIONS - as Dustbin defends successfully

RORS makes long-awaited debut, while Phil, Tiger & Justin (Honma) Rose all skip Kapalua.

Thomas 10's, Leishman 16's and a WISE 25's choice tyvm Devil

Rory Sabbatini has become a citizen of Slovakia (his wife is a Slovak) to play in the 2020 Olympics.

really not a fan of that new rule where u can putt with the pin in
By:
Hank Hill
When: 04 Jan 19 16:11
That's going to take some getting used to. Less time to look for ball and drop from knee height all good though.
By:
Mighty Whites 2008
When: 04 Jan 19 18:13
Only Bryson seemed to engage in putting with the pin in. Think it is a decent rule especially from the amateur game point of view. Should speed up play a little.

Don't get the knee high drop at all what is the benefit?
By:
trebor
When: 04 Jan 19 19:06
The knee high drop is to speed up play as the ball is less likely to roll outside the limit of the drop. and if the rule makers think that is going to work they are mad, the only reason the ball rolls outside the allowed area is because the players want it too so they get to place the ball, this makes it even easier to drop on the limit and flout the rules.

Or Mickelsons interpretation of the rule he has worked out that by taking the drop whilst kneeling he gets to place the ball anyway!

THE PREVIOUS EIGHT WINNERS were at or within 2 of the lead after Rd.2.
Woodland is the 10th player to lead by 3 or more shots after the 2nd round - SEVEN of the previous NINE (incl the last 4) went on to WIN.

TRUST GARY not to wobble ?

Cue jonnybullchite - absolute fat little bottle job - hacker's convention - bottling leaders - there for the taking - bigger chokers in behind.
