Whether it was racsist or not.................. Tiger's tweet saying he was hurt by it is complete and utter swollox. Pathetic from Woods. A bigger man would have made no comment or just laughed it off......but not Woods, he loves to play the wounded soldier routine.

Sergio would have probably make the fried chicken quip in regards to Dustin Johnson or Bubba Watson - he was suggesting AMERICANS loved their Kentucky.

Do you honestly think Sergio would openly infer Tiger because he is BLACK loves his fried chicken?? Sergio more than likely had a brain fart and forget it was derogatory through translation. Sergio is Spanish and was supposing an olive branch and offering an American brand of food.

I don't buy into the stereotypes = racism argument, because one is a disdain for another race while the other is an observation usually based (at some point) on facts. Saying black people like fried chicken isn't racist, it's a stereotype. Sure, it's in poor taste for any one to exploit stereotypes , but it's not automatically racist.

I think people are blowing this up way to far. Sergio knew what Fuzzy said and was trying to be funny unsuccessfully and Tiger's reaction just shows what a pu55y he is. End of story.

Woods and Garcia can't stand each other. It must get under Garcia's skin everytime they compete against each other that Woods comes out on top. Probably the most famous of all was the final grouping on the 2006 Open at Hoylake, when Garcia wore a yellow costume. After destroying him by seven shots, Woods sent a text out to his friends – “I just whopped Tweetiepie ...”

Garcia could have fired a whole host of insults at Woods linked to his personal life if he so wished, the fact is he chose to make a racist comment that shows him in a very poor light.

Woods Meets Zoeller For Lunch

Before continuing his effort to win three straight tournaments, Tiger Woods cleared up one major off-course distraction today. Woods met with Fuzzy Zoeller, sharing lunch at the Colonial Country Club here, and accepted Zoeller's apologies for the racially derogatory remarks he made about Woods at the Masters championship.

Afterward, both golfers said they hoped to put the issue behind them. The MasterCard Colonial that begins Thursday is the first tournament in which both golfers will participate in since the Masters, where Zoeller's comments touched off a national controversy. Zoeller referred to Woods as ''that little boy'' and joked about the young winner's requesting fried chicken and collard greens at the Champion's dinner, where the winner selects the menu.

''Fuzzy and I had a nice lunch conversation,'' Woods said shortly after their meeting today. ''I found out something I needed to know and it's over. Hopefully, we will have a good tournament. Over time, we will see it be an incident that will make this better for golf.''
Zoeller said he was relieved to meet with Woods and hoped the face-to-face meeting would put to an end what he called one of the worst episodes of his life. In the month since the remarks, Zoeller lost an endorsement contract with Kmart.

''I meant nothing by it,'' Zoeller said. ''I did do apologies.''

Zoeller made a public apology to Woods after the incident, while also withdrawing from a tournament in Greensboro, N.C., because of the negative publicity. Woods waited three days to release a prepared statement that acknowledged Zoeller was ''a jokester'' and most likely didn't intend to offend. He said he believed the statement was sufficient. ''It's the people in the media who keep bringing it up,'' Woods said. ''Once I released a statement I thought it was done.''

He conceded, however, that some members of the PGA Tour believed he should have spoken to Zoeller sooner. Woods said he received, but did not return, two phone calls from Zoeller, whose gregarious, witty personality has made him one of the more popular players in more than two decades on the PGA Tour. Woods said he didn't believe, however, that he mishandled the incident.

''I wouldn't say resentment; they just questioned it,'' Woods said of his colleagues' reaction. ''Hey, it wasn't me who brought this on.''
