These guys live in a bubble.

The one is talking stupid things and the other is too easily offended. (I would laugh my a$$ off if I was mr cheater)

In another note:
There are over 1 billion people in the world today who do not get enough food to eat.
That’s one in 7 people on Earth don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
500 people are killed because of war every day= 182,000 every year.

A little perplexed by those defending Sergio here. At worst - a racist making comments about the African Amercian history of slavery as a way of demeaning Tiger. At best - an utter moron who lacks the intelligence to decipher for himself that making such a comment in a televised interview was a wise move. Undoubtedly - an utter fecktard who if exiled to the European tour has no one to blame but himself and will not really be missed at any rate.

Why answer any questions whatsoever about his relationship with Tiger, especially if unsure of the ramifications. For someone so media trained as a pro golfer of 15 or so years, how hard would it have been to leave that question alone? Absolutely ridiculous and his place in the doghouse is fully deserved.

The ones most upset about this are the Hens because while the Chickens get all the Media coverage, the poor Hens cant lay enough Eggs to keep up with the demand for all the Eggshells that the Whitey's have to use, to tread on throughout their lives.

anyone who things this is a racist thing is a clown, this is about Garcia being the worst loser that ever swung a golf club. He hates Harrington more than he hates woods only because on 3 occassions garcia snatched defeat from jaws of victory.
A little sh!t who doesn't deserve to be playing golf and the only player that is guarenteed to blow a gasket on the homeward stretch of a major.
Although he's given up sniffing powder he must still have it in his system.

I can understand people not being aware of fried chicken being a derogatory stereotype prior to this incident (although it surprises me on a golf forum, given the huge publicity after Zoeller's comment in 1997).  What I can't understand is still defending it after it has been explained to you.  Sergio doesn't like Tiger.  He knows fried chicken is a racial slur.  He said it.  Sergio knows it was wrong, he has admitted it.  It is not the crime of the century but neither is it "banter", "PC gone mad" or so on.  So where's the confusion?  Confused

Not in the slightest. What a man does in his bedroom and who he does it with is his business, comparing that to a racial slur at a media conference is more than a bit silly. Not sure how you're using that as an argument for Sergio...

It isn't a surprise given that he hates him that he would bait him with such a comment, it doesn't mean he is racist but just using it as a stick to beat him with.

Fair enough I see where you're coming from now. It's ok to be racist to people as long as you don't like them, or if they have cheated on their wives. Good to know. Crazy

This phoney racism is getting totally out of hand, fried chicken and watermelon are southern American foods that used to be eaten by all races, if Sergio had asked for a game of basketball would that also be construed as racist.

I'm saying what  Garcia did wasn't racist, but if  you make a decision to whip your kok out for a diff race ,it's debatable

I think most of us would agree that in general this racism issue is getting out of hand....it was a silly statement from Garcia but not a racist one,the support he has had from the crowds for the 2 days i have been to Wentworth would suggest the golfing public agree.....

Good bet to win the US open after this maybe!Grin

It was without doubt a racist comment. Garcia has been seething with Woods since the players (a complete over reaction btw). Having run out of things to say about that incident he then makes the fried chicken comment. Clearly it was said with the intention of insulting Woods. This is where Garcia went badly wrong instead of insulting an individual he insulted a race. His immediate back tracking showed he quickly realised he was in trouble. The fact he may or may not have had a drink or two makes no difference in fact it probably shows that under the facade lies a nastier side to Garcia.

Sergio has come out of this badly and will regret it for a long time.

tiger is very much an open goal when in comes to insults, and sergio not only missed the target with his insult but stuck it in his own net !
