Didn't something similar happen with Rickie F a fortnight ago? The Sky boys thought he's grounded his club in a hazard, there were soom-ins, close-ups and replays, and the officials didn't even review it.

Players rarely get DQ'd and only when there is zero ambiguity.

Is Woods top 20 price of 1.75-1.86 a close proxy for his chance of not DQ.  Plus a bit for chance of him blowing up, say evens?

Tickite Boo , where where you when Tigers ball went down the shute on top of the clubhouse and finished up ( via the soup toureen ) magically in the car park  , and the 20 minute saga "finding "the ball --there is a 5 minute rule . Tiger , and nearly every other player out there ( except Darren ) will take any option to stay in contention , particularly in  a Major .

Have sympathy with them sometimes , but not always .  Common sense needs to be the over-riding criteria , but its not !

that price for top 20 is huge..he went odds on to win the whole shebang during round 2

Jack I agree.  I also think if he is allowed to stay in, he may play worse as a result of the dram of this.

Whatever your definition of 'near as possible' is, it's most certainly note 'drop a preferred amount of distance away to improve the yardage for your next shot'. Again, intent here is the key. He dropped in a place to improve on his original shot.

Regardless of anyone's take on the state of golf etc. the fact is that this is a clear rule breach and golf deals with these in only one way.

The top 20 market is surely a market for DQ at the moment?

Top 20 price of anything above 1.4 is a gift if he plays on , Jack .  But awaiting developments .

im pretty sure the rules are there to stop players gaining an advantage. and woods told the press he gained an advantage. this isnt really about how close he was. its about his interview

but his words were "So I went back to where I played it from, but I went two yards further back.

"I tried to take two yards off the shot of what I felt I hit - that should land me short of the flag and not have it either hit the flag or skip over the back.
"

If he went two yards back surely he would have played the same shot and not choked down a bit?

A decision will most definitely be made by the time the first player tees off today and that is at 14.25 BST. One hour to go!

To disqualify the man would be an injustice!
An injustice I say !!

risky trading in and out though as a decision either way can leave you on the wrong side of a trade

Personally think Tiger KNEW he was breaking the rules but because of who he is he thinks he can, watch his body language and expression after it happened. Now its down to the officials to uphold the rules of the game and DQ him. Probably did it as he liked as he was so pissed about the bad break, but that dont mean you can break the rules of the game... but it does if you are Tiger Woods. no ?

Wiz, a decision will only be made if they are reviewing the incident.

Do we know for sure that the officials are even looking at this?

that quote there shows that going 2 yards back helped him land the ball short of the flag and thus playing the pin high shot he did. he gained an advantage. i like tiger but he should be DQd

Everyone talking as though if he doesn't get DQ he wins the tournament. He is 3 off the lead, there are many great players around him and the pressure on him if he plays on will no doubt play on his mind.

Whatever happens, Woods will not win!

Exactly - that's why I've laid him sub 6s.  Everything to gain, little to lose (if not dq, lay off for small loss).

If Tiger's DQ - won't it take the edge off whoever wins it.

I dunno, say Rose wins it - it will go down as 2013 J Rose wins the Masters - the year Tiger was DQ'd

which is a shame as he may have won it anyway with Tiger in the field

why switch off?  pocket talk?  it winds me up, all the coverage, all the build up over one man.  there are 20-30 players with the quality to win this, not one fing muppet.  i hope he goes.
