Another big one this week. Already pulled the trigger on Charl, had him lined up for this for a while taken 22s, don't think we'll get much more with his form and a T4 and a 2nd in the last 3 years. Also taken the son of a gun, Billy boy Haas at 85s and 80s, T9, T6 and T3 in his last 3 stroke play events and well rested with the week off. Plenty of water again as is the way in Florida so many splashes forecast again this week.

It's looking like Rory might start 5th or 6th favourite for this by the time it starts. It would be a long while since that's happened!

love the WGCs... Backing folks all over the place - Piercy at 80, Moore at 110, Louis at 50, Fowler at 50, Grace at 190, Day at 50, Watney at 38. Already traded Mahan, most of Watney and a bit of Charl. great odds available in a limited field. Pretty simple formula this week, take quality, no Thompson/Merrick sort of winners here. In the 6 years this has been at Doral it's been Tiger, Ogilvy, Phil, Els, Watney and Rose. 4 major winners and the other 2 aren't exactly mugs.

@poke Thank you for the Indian addition to my bank. Appreciated. Is Stricker too old to win the Cadillac...he sure is putting well but is the rest of his game up to this course? Tiger is a lay again. So is Mickleson. Rory. Well imo it is not a matter of his golf. I think her ladyship is influencing everything and he is insecure when he is not around her. Best thing for his golf now is to throw a ring on her finger, but maybe he has tried and that may be the problem. Just a thought.

i compare him to a young lleyton hewitt dating kimmy clitoris. he was just 'finding his feet' lovewise and sometimes the first love isn't always a fairytale even though it serves its purpose for the time that it lasts (ie they both have more confidence going forward dating other people).
that or he is just in a slump. it happens to golfers.... |

For the record , Rory's first long term girl friend was a schoolmate , Holly , used to be front page locally when the relationship existed . There was the odd hiccup though in the latter stages of an approximate 4 year romance , not sure it affected his golf game though .
Not dead sure about teenage romances myself as to whether its the best basis for a lifetime commitment . But wont start debate about it , for every plus there are minuses in my experience and observation . But when average marriage length and times married nowadays get quoted , sometimes think I am living in a different world . Everybody has to find their own feet in regard to relationships between the sexes , can be a long journey for some looking for compatability ! Not a big fan of celibacy though , cant see any attraction . |

With less golfers playing and similar golfers to that of The Masters....Tiger and Rory's odds are good/excellent value.....whether they win this week is another matter but they will be winning soon. I would rather be backing than laying.

Recent events dont indicate that celibacy for preachermen is necessarily a good idea , Donny .
Might work for some dedicating themslves to an etherial higher calling , but reckon its flawed myself , an invention to suit someones take on life . Not mainstream behaviour in my book . Survival of the species is a paramount behaviourial aspect to life . And when we were growing up some people revered celibates as superior personages . Rory is still only 23 , has his whole life before him , but is is an only child , no siblings to refer to or bounce off . So was Tiger . Every generation has to work itself out with their peers , we old fuddy duddies have largely run our course , each generation works out its own salvation . But its not always easy , and not always kindly looked on by history ( heard any good songs recently , compared with the output from the forties , fifties , sixties , seventies , etc? ). And Beethoven and Mozart are a long time dead before that ! And Stradavarius's are 400 years old I think , imagine that . Dont think there will ever be 400 year old Titleists or Nike's or Pings or Calloways or Mizunos etc . |

Does anyone know if Mcilroy is definitely playing? Is he at Doral as he hasnt mentioned anything on Twitter - I am very wary of getting involved from a laying point of view.....

Boltz, you are correct on the ruling there, but it's that rule that may be a nightmare to layers even if Rory isn't short enough in this market to cause carnage.

Tiger seems awfully short. The good news is that makes other prices better. I got some 40+ for Hunter and I'm keenly waiting for 60s for Day. Both guys right in form but largely unloved here. If G-Mac hits 55s I'll add him too.

Matt Kuchar is coming off a win,has 3 top 10s in this event in the last 3 years so think he may be a good bet.Not much mention about him anywhere.22/1 decent.

I've taken Fowler, DJ, Poulter and Moore. DJ had a cracking first round last week and runner up here two years back, could easily return to his best and along with Fowler, who showed he may strike soon last week, and Poulter,who continues in great heart - all appeal at around 3x the odds of Rose and Charl. Moore one of those progressive players who is the type you'd consider following blindly over the next 12 months and be hopeful of showing a gain.

Rory only trusts his own dentist , as per press interview . His dentist is back home . Anyway wisdom teeth aren't easy . Guess it will be a while before they ( it) are/is sorted .
Mind you he said they were giving him trouble most of last year , and he did all right . So we are possibly back to the prime suspect . |

Rory 25/1 will be an absolutely brilliant or awful bet Oosty 48/1 started double double on Friday last week after a solid opening 69. Think the bookies have seen a big number and completely over-reacted, so happy to be at 49 this week Coetzee 172 - will be sticking with him hoping he continues to trend of all the South Africans winning biggies Senden 182 - More of a bit of fun, but decent course form but admittedly out of sorts Fraser 440- small stakes but he's becoming a very good player |
