do betfair pay for 36 hole tourney?
They have changed the rules then after that shambles in SA before Christmas? I managed to take a few quid from laying off some green I had on Webster and got to keep it - i just don't remember if it was on here or over on purple - either way it wasn't really fair (but...). |
By:
varies but rules for this one say 54 holes
By:
On the Euro Tour it counts as an official win if it is 36 holes
On the PGA Tour it counts as an official win if it is 54 holes Betfair settle the same way |

yes

Does anyone know if there are any bookmakers who voided bets made in running on Friday? The bets that I have seem to still be in play.
By:
thought so
it is scandalous to be honest i have already done money this year on a 36 hole farce in Africa. you back a golfer over 72 holes, at a stretch i can just about accept 54 holes with great reluctance, 36 is tantamount to theft. A 16/1 chance for example over 72 holes would be a lot bigger to be leading after 36 holes. |
By:
so dont bet with fred?
By:
Or do all settle 36 holes euro tour?
By:
BCDoug Billys voided my inplay bet on Bradley.
By:
sandsave, the african bet was with laddys, i think they all settle 36 on european tour
i mean the winner gets the trophy and money but for punting purposes it is a joke they used to settle on football if a match was abandoned no matter how long had been played that was a nice earner as well. lay 1/2 and if it goes 20 minutes and gets abandoned pay out on result. farce and it was changed thankfuly years agom. |

I've just been reading what PGA Tour official Slugger White has been saying and i think they will be going all out to avoid playing just 36 holes. If the weather doesn't play ball on Sunday and Monday he says a Tuesday finish would be considered.Next weeks event is in Hawaii anyway,so let's hope they manage 54 holes. If my bets lose over 54 holes i can take it but playing just 36 is a bit of a nonsense and leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
By:
three I dont think PGA can declare winner on 36 holes so yes they they will have to try for 54!
By:
official win that is
By:
I was just worried Sandsave that they get the scheduled 36 holes in tomorrow and then they turn up on Monday and it's blowing a gale again. Was thinking they might just say at that point, feck it,36 holes will do.From a punting point of view i'd rather zero holes than 36.

By:
Yes agree.
By:
at the moment what would be the % chance of 54 holes,36 holes or no tournament, would it be about:
54 :70% 36 :10% N/T:20% |
By:
Seems more hopeful Daz, 24mph winds, 30% chance of rain for today, similar for tomorrow with slightly less wind, so just depends on accuracy of forecast and effect of wind on exposed parts of the course.
Your stats won't be far off, maybe slightly more chance of 54 holes hopefully.. ![]() |

Any idea what time this will all start?
By:
5.10 pm UK time today.
By:
hope we get a good marathon session today ffs
By:
you would think they could do shotgun start as it is spossible with the number of players, it would ensure they could get 36 holes easily if weather is not too inclement
By:
They are starting off the 1st and 10th tees par

Cheers the muppet, by the way I am enjoying reading your musings on your blog son, good luck for the season.

I know ladbrokes and Hills pay out on an 'official winner', ie someone lifting the trophy, regardless of number of holes played.
I'm on Simpson and Bradley, and was peed off at first of the scores being scrapped. But on reflection, Simpson had a difficult up and down, on a hole where doubles were being made, when it was called off. So doubt his lead would have been 2 shots still Bradley was heading out on 3 over, so I guess it kind of, but not quite, evened things out for me |

Violent winds caused by a high-pressure system northeast of the Hawaiian islands blew apart roofs, felled trees, and knocked out power in communities across the state Saturday.
A wind advisory for Molokai, Maui, Lanai, Kahoolawe and the lower slopes of Hawaii island is in effect through 6 p.m. Sunday. Winds of at least 30 mph, with gusts of over 50 mph, are expected in the affected areas. Police, firefighters and other first responders on Oahu were kept busy throughout the day as they fielded emergency calls for six blown roofs and five downed trees spread out from Nuuanu to Waianae. No injuries were reported as a result of any of the wind-related incidents. An early morning outage in Wahiawa left about 9,800 customers without power from 3 to 5 a.m. A downed pole also knocked out power to a handful of industrial customers in Halawa starting at 9:40 a.m. and extending through the early evening. High winds were also blamed for downed power lines on Diamond Head Road between Coconut Avenue and Beach Road. Hawaiian Electric Co. personnel were called to the scene shortly before 6 p.m. and worked through the evening to restore power to about 200 customers. On Hawaii island, gusts topping 50 mph tore the roofs off of three homes in the Kailapa Hawaiian Homestead subdivision in Kawaihae. On Kailapa Street, a whirlwind tore the roof off a home and sent corrugated metal and other roofing material into a nearby electrical transformer, resulting in a spectacular explosion. Nearby, on Puukamalii Place, high winds blew the roof off a garage, damaging a neighboring home. Also in the subdivision, the framework of a house under construction collapsed after being buffeted by powerful gusts. The high winds are expected to continue through the early part of the week. According to the National Weather Service, tradewinds will continue to bring showers to windward and mauka areas. A high-surf advisory is in effect for the east shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and Hawaii island through 6 p.m. Sunday, with surf of 7 to 10 feet expected in the affected areas. might be ok next week !!! |

No way they'll finish 36 holes today. I think Betfair should have an update page where they can clarify their position on such matters like this. Anyone know the score, 36 hole bets void or not?
By:
Does anyone know what time (UK) they are estimating they may Tee-Off please?
By:
Hawaii is 8 hours behind us in the UK. They were meant to tee off at 7 this morning, so with the current 4 hour delay, local tee time will be 11 ish, therefore 7pm UK time, but I wouldnt hold your breath...I reckon today will be cancelled and therefore tourni too.
