webb-simpsons price is fair because he is a first timer and historically first timers do not win the masters, the last one was fuzzy Zoeller back in the 70s!
Personally I think keegan Bradley has more chance but I am dis-counting all first timers |

i agree with eric, this could be the best masters ever

Loving this market now, more

You'll probably laugh at me, however I like Henrik Stenson at 150/1.
Coming back to form and 3 starts on PGA Tour have been T21, T3, T15. The guy has some class about him and he lookd like he is starting to reclaim some of that old form again. |

.....hes 200 on here, and you'll get better than that
not laughing here, i think its a decent bet |

Looking at the prices on Betfair this morning Tiger is a shade over 4/1 and Rory a shade under 6/1. The fact that both are obviously in sparkling form reflects in their prices. But too short for me in this field - that said I would not be surprised to see one of them win.
Lee Westwood used to have an awful record at Augusta baring a tied 6th plave finish many years back. But he has not missed a cut since 2006 and since then has a 2nd placed finish and 2 tied 11s. 20s looks a bit overpriced so may get involved. Also on Justin Rose at 36s, Zach Johnson at 120s, Hunter Mahan at 70s and speculative fivers on Kaymer at 80s (even though his form here is awful), Simpson 75 (First timer here but 30 points better than Keegan Bradley - another first timer) and Watney at 75s purely because he again looks over priced. Rose looks to be in really good form this year and has some good form at Augusta - he is my No1 pick. |

82mountie, I was trying to be delicately polite ... it seems you don't notice things like that ... to put it more bluntly don't use big words if you don't know what they mean.... 4 letters appears to stretch you.

Rickie Fowler isnt someone I normally get involved with but he looks a massive price. Got some matched at 140s and a bit more at a 120s.
He was a debutant at Augusta last year and was going along nicely at halfway having shot -2 and -3 in his first two rounds. Faded into an eventual T38 with a 74 and 76 but can clearly go low there. Form is reasonable this year without smashing the place up; missed just one cut and a best place T7 at the Honda Classic a couple of weeks back. Ranked 6th in Total Driving and 22nd in Scrambling, I reckon he is one that could well be involved at the business end, although its probably asking a lot for him to win. |

Tiger - Yesterday was a master class in ball control and how to close out the competition on a Sunday, a joy to watch after some of the Sunday meltdowns seen recently by the likes of Charlie Wi, Ernie Els and Bubba Watson, last night was a lesson in how it's done fellas. Gmac was throwing all sorts his way and he didnt even flinch.
Very Impressive indeed, such a solid and controlled round in those tough windy/firm conditions I would also just like to give a big shout out to all the generous tiger layers at 10.5 for the masters only last week! ![]() The way Tiger is controlling the ball on a string, hitting long, and now rolling the putts better he's a massive favourite for the Masters, hes competed on Sunday at Augusta with half a game over the last few years, should be a mouth watering prospect in his current form...... roll on next Thursday ![]() |

A player I like at a big price. Kevin Na. Has a poor record at Augusta, but I can see him putting that right this year. He is having a great season to date. I've been nibbling at him for quite a while, and he is now a substantial green.
|

I've finally got all of my Geoff Ogilvy order filled, 150-160 is HUGE for a player of his class - multiple WGC winner and Major winner. I saw enough at the Transitions to add him to my side.
|
|
By:
Just noticed how well Trevor Immleman played at the weekend - flew under the radar somewhat. Without doubt his form at Augusta rivals anyone for consistancy with a host of finishes in the top 25. Has to be worthy of consideration at around 150/1
|
|
By:
i saw that doug,
but i put a line through ogilvy a while back, hes putting worse than ernie. |
|
By:
Taken Ogilvy and Immelman, Ogilvy only ups his game for the majors now, 2nd or 3rd last year when he came i with exactly the same form, still a contender. Been piling into Immelman @ 200-250 his wrist injury would have scared a few but should see him strengthen now as a very good record at augusta and showing some form
|
|
By:
I can not take Na doesn't hit it far enough for me would need to putt like God to be a contender

Thought that Woods return to form has occurred at the right time. Has been playing much better for the last month now and a win on the tour can only improve hi confidence. Even when playing badly he has always competed well at Augusta and his stats (GIR 1st and driving accuracy) at the Arnold Palmer are massive attributes on a course where you don't want to end up in the rough. His price has shorted up but seems about right to me.
Only in-play betting for me. Will be backing the final two on sunday and will be looking to lay guys who have traditionally shown a lack of will power in majors if they get too short. Justin Rose would be an in-play lay going into round three if he was out the front after two for instance. |

Can anybody give me a good enough reason not to back Dufner at 160? Surely he will trade lower.
|
|
By:
Indeed Maggot, and Tigger attracting all the silly money, and going off at an even sillier price, makes him the LAY of the Century.
The media circus will focus on Woods, leaving Wee Rory to go quietly about his business. Decision made, and just waiting on the best possible price come Masters week. I took the £8 on Kevin Na earlier @ 400',which bring my team up to 13. can't get any luckier than that, huh ? ![]() |
|
By:
The only negetive about Dufner is he struggles final day, maybe good for a trade but not for me.
Toms is starting to interest me picked some up @ 370s and has a solid record at Augusta, in the not long enough category but he can putt like God? |
|
By:
dufner has been flying thurs / friday and struggling weekends
maybe a 1st round leader bet beckons if he gets a decent draw |
|
By:
Number of majors won by Jack Nicklaus from Tiger Woods present age was 4.

Any views on Ryan Moore and Ricky Barnes, both have good Masters records and can play the course?

I have been dabbling in the Ryan Moore market. Always seems to be a massive price.

Moore is a yes for me, good player and can has proved he can play a bit round here. Anything over 200s is a fair price. Barnes has been god awful apart from one run out this season, he's way too short for me (shorter than Moore!) |

Didn't realise both Barnes and Moore need a win this week to get in, thought Moore was already in.

Final Antepost Portfolio/Possible Shambles
![]() J Rose 66/1 G McDowell 66/1 B Haas 100/1 M Laird 125/1 [ b]T Immelman[/b] 125/1 T Bjorn 150/1 P Lawrie 500/1 JM Olazabal 540/1 Chomping at the bit for next Thursday, think all golf fans realise we could be in for a classic 4 days with many of the top dogs in sparkling form. Never thought I would be backing Thomas Bjorn or Paul Lawrie for anything but I think they could really shock people next week. Two guys most famous for throwing away an Open Championship/ winning one under v fortuitous circumstances. However since (arguably) their most famous days in the sun they have claimed 10 Titles between them. They both have very respectable past from round Augusta and are currently striking the ball as well if not better than they ever have. At 150/1 and 500/1 respectively I am happy to throw on a few quid ew. Gl everyone with your selections- not long to wait now ![]() ![]() |

Robert Garrigus ain't a bad bet at over 400s, a a 2nd and a tie 2nd this year, very hit and miss but if he's hitting it's a good price, 430s was enough for me to have a dash.
|

Looking to get into mickelson early in play next thursday - get some big value when he starts slowly, then hopefully he can fire it up over the weekend
![]() |
|
By:
why is Martin Kaymer available at 60/1 and better? Surely this price does not reflect his chances. If Kaymer turns up with his A game he could smash this.
Also liking the big prices on stricker - another class act with a superb iron game and demon putter Thoughts? |
|
By:
Its well documented that Kaymer struggles around Augusta and this is backed up by 4 missed cuts and never having broken 70! On the avoid list.
Stricker has has decent record without ever having really contended, but as you say a class player, has chances. |
|
By:
Well Eric...like you said above....feel free to hoover all the prices up to odds of 100
![]() ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
Third bet in this event, Stricker at 50's. Played 4 events this year with 3 top 10's including a win, a reasonable record around here without setting the world alight, like the fact he has played the par 5's 20 under for the last 3 years and we know he can put like a god. So far;
Yang @ 150's Stricker @ 50's No new major winner @ 8-13 |

I'm perfectly articulate thank you so there is no need to be throwing insults around. I was merely pointing out that this is a Masters forum and you are just going to make yourself look like an idiot by correcting people's spelling. Bo Van Pelt is starting to look like a fantastic bet at 150s currently on Betfair. Joint most Top 10s this year and in very good form. He ranks highly in most relevant stats (Par 5 scoring, most putting)and also played very well last year to finish T8. Has played well in high class fields on other occasions too in WGC earlier this year and I have a feeling he won a tournament overseas towards the end of 2011 that included a selection of the worlds best. Decent recent form too and I am struggling to find any negatives. |
