anyone have any information whether or not there will be any play today or any thoughhts about whether we'll have a shortened tournament? Its not looking too good for today from my limited viewing earlier anyway
By:
I don't know if they will be able to play more today or not, but I don't think the tournament will be shortened no matter as forecasted wind wont be strong enough to stop play neither saturday nor sunday.
So there should be plenty of time to play all 4 rounds. |

Thanks Eddie,
I am sure it will be your money, but Scott Jamieson @ 1000s +1 must be worth a few quid. Having KJ and Hanson from the start means it looks ok for me. My biggest winners are now, Jamieson and Gonnet but I have alot around the -1 mark including Larrazabal and Willet that are big winners also. |

can anybody explain how damien magrane is -5 thru nine holes today? a superhuman effort
By:
You are correct, most of what's up there is mine. He is right on the borderline though @ being a 1000 shot, so I'll probably cancel whatever is left before he start playing, or maybe even earlier.
The latter will depend on how the field will be performing when they are back out. |
By:
eddie dont answer if its too intrusive..but when your laying your 1000 shots how much liability would you typically put up on each?
By:
Normally 100 plus quid up there so my guess is around 150k (including is pre-tee off lays?)
Who are your big greens Eddie? My guess is KJ (40s + at tee off was a gift) and I know you are a big fan of his. |

Official Round 2 will be finished tomorrow 3rd round Sunday

5-45 am re-start our time tomorrow.Why would today's scores not count ?
By:
frames some time ago early scores were scrapped when a tourney was curtailed
By:
any one think big john can kick on from his position?
By:
Its wide open with anyone shooting around 68 on Sunday can leapfrog to the lead. Does Daly put in 3 consistent rounds these days. I think not
By:
no hardly ever west, but hes capable of going stupidly low on round two and maybe clinging on for dear life come sunday
By:
tony jacklin shot 29 front nine at the open at st andrews before play was stopped for bad weather
as nobody finished their round the scores were scrapped it never seems to happen these days but i never noticed a ruling to say when that system was scrapped ..... |
By:
He did shoot 29 ,ended up with a 67 and scores stood.
By:
I think scores were once scrapped on the european tour when they had to change to preferred lies but could be wrong.

you are right frames, false memories

First round scores were scrapped in a European tour event at Hoylake in 1981, give or take a year, Mosey beat Jacklin in a playoff I think, over 54 holes.

By:
sweetchild and eric, at the most during last year I could have as much as £ 400 - 450 up on the 1000 shots, but since I hit PC3 of 40 % in October stakes has been peanuts compared to that and most weeks I've done nothing.
I've had some losses during the last couple of weeks, so is now "allowed" to win that(and a little more) back without having to pay PC3. I've therefore been a little more involved in the golf markets the lst two weeks. I've only done the Eurotour seriously though and have had roughly £ 110 up on the 1000 shots these two weeks. |
By:
And you are correct again eric
![]() Choi is my biggest green as he was the only player I tried to back this week. I got some @ 40, but not that much. Those who are fully laid atm are roughly 55 k red and Paul Lawrie, Kaymer, Lynn, Finch and Garcia are in this group. Those I haven't laid a penny on are roughly 50 k green atm and Choi( a little more on him), Westwood, Quiros, Molinari, Willett and Green are in this group. |

has anyone got a link to the revised 2nd round please.
By:
at the open at birkdale in the late 80s the third round was abandoned for the day and scores were scrapped. The weather was horrendous and hubert green (i think) ripped it up only to see his score deleted.
By:
im sure its happened a few times in minor events too in recent years
By:
Thanks eddie always interesting.
For me, I am green Hanson, KJ, Lawrie, Gonzo, Willet, Larrazabal, Gonnet. Red Day and alot more. so looking OK especially if Gonnet can challenge |

Appalling decision to suspend play for the entire day. By 2pm Qatar time the wind was as low as it has been all week. They could have easily got 3 or 3 1/2 hours play in between 2 and 5:30pm. Just before play was suspended we heard Gmacs caddy ranting about how there would be uproar amongst today's early starters if the players didn't go back out today. I don't disagree with the decision to suspend play when they did but they should have definitely gone back out later on.
It really is a wide open tournament now. I'd tell you my pre-tournament picks but it would just sound like after timing at this point. Good luck to all |
