Wasn't quite an express, but got there in the end.

bit harsh Rhino
From world number 50 to world number 1 in 29 events. Tiger should manage to stretch his lead once he gets up to playing the 40 counting events. |
|
By:
his true average is about 13.2

2 weeks until the great man goes back to Phoenix and at 43 in the world, a thread bump in order. Can he do it again?
Wouldn't put it past him. |

I think it will be difficult rhino especially in the short term. He is well under the minimum 40 events and has basically no points last year. I think the more interesting question is will be qualify for Doral? He is losing 5 points a week and has dropped 11 spots this year already.
If he can stay healthy then potentially he could make it back to the top in time. If he can play healthy on a regular basis then he has a chance. Interesting to look at the list of multiple winners over the previous two years and the first few weeks of 2015 on the PGA Tour and European tour who are currently ranked above Woods. 5 - Tiger Woods 4 - Patrick Reed 4 - Rory Mcilroy 4 - Henrik Stenson 4 - Jimmy Walker 4 - Graeme McDowell 3 - Billy Horschel 3 - Phil Mickleson 3 - Adam Scott 3 - Bubba Watson 3 - Justin Rose 3 - Matt Kuchar 3 - Joost Luiten 2 - Zack Johnson 2 - Dustin Johnson 2 - Stevie Gallacher 2 - Thomas Bjorn 2 - Miguel Jiminez 2 - Ryan Moore 2 - Charl Schwartzel 2 - Jamie Donaldson A familiar name at the top. It's not all about winning. Garcia, Furyk, Spieth, Fowler and Day have won less Euro and PGA events over the last two years combined than Tiger. Obviously consistency plays a part but if Tiger gets back to anything like he was he will head back towards the top. Choo Choo |

Just watching the lowlights package. Amazing scenes, short game in absolute shambles, looks like a 20 handicapper. But he's smiling and having a laugh about it, which I suppose is good. If he's shooting 82 at Scottsdale, the South course will tear him to shreds next week.
|
|
By:
truly shocking rhino. Im stunned, in practice he must have been better than this which suggests he is struggling to transfer it to the course which is a worrying sign. His confidence must be shot.
Next week will be a stiff test. Almost certain to drop out of the top 50 and his place at doral must be highly doubtful. |
|
By:
In the practise round this week the short game looked poor mighty, posted a video in the tourney thread, but not as bad as today. Fear for him for next week, not the course to find your game unless the memories help bring it back. I imagine after next week he might play the Honda, another tough track so yeah Doral looks unlikely.

By:
Meanwhile, the current world number 1 looks an absolute beast.
|
|
By:
i mean his general practise at home. Either that or he is deluding himself.
rory is head and shoulders the best he needs to start winning regularly and dominating the game. |
|

The Tiger Woods train to World No1??
The Tiger Woods Bus Replacement Service would be more appropriate |
|
By:
the original thread reached its destination thankyou very much. There were doubters like you then.
Rhino's revival is an unlikely mission but time will tell |
|
By:
its difficult to see him catching rory on these ratings without another major slump for rory
he may have a better true average, but 40 tournaments over two years is in itself a challenge for tiger these days if hes had to cut down the practice then its even more difficult with a new swing to groove it'll be good to see him contend in a few majors....maybe thats as much as we can hope ? |
|
By:
Started to go wrong with Butch Harmon, it is not possible to change your golf swing and become a better player.(assuming your initial golf swing works)
|
|
By:
when will Nike ditch him?
|
|
By:
They can rebuild him. .....

After a few repairs the express finally gets back on the track this week as the greatest of all time starts his journey back where he belongs.
His current official world ranking is 111 - its just saying his rightful position three times. All aboard CHOO CHOO |

He's five majors off being "the greatest of all time" and can't see him winning another one...

Jack Nicklaus will have the records but many people will make the argument that Tiger was the best player they have ever seen.

i smell a grand slam ,the real one all four in one year ................if only , i really do hope he plays well

We have lift off the express is up and running.
A surge up the rankings to 101 knocking off 10% of the journey in one go. A pleasing week all in all, the back looked much better the chipping whilst not top notch was yip free. Lets just hope the root didn't cause too much damage. |

The express will get back up and running this week.
There is even a track by the course so the express can witness it first hand. Choo Choo |

Any backers of this on the forum? Yes he's odds on to miss the cut and that's probably fair but I've talked myself into backing him. Apparently hit every fairway in pro am. Swing looked good. Says he's healthy. Just needs some confidence imo. Playing with Stricker won't hurt. It's nearly 2 years since we had a tiger express and damn I miss them...choo choo! ...then there was two. I know in Bob Dylan's words he said it was a 'Slow Train Coming' but I prefer/think it's going to be a 'Long Train Running'. CHOO CHOO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4tJSn0QtME |

So apparently Tiger has been doing the deed with Amanda Dufner

I do hope when the error of that drop is pointed out that ha voluntarily dq's himself. However I dont see him doing that.

By:
Tiger Woods had the best proximity mark of his career (23'-11") at Greenbrier. Also was first in field for 6th time. (since '03)
|
|
By:
Jack missed the cut in 3 of his first 4 Majors.....then only 6 more till he won 18.
Tiger only had 1 MC vs 14 Majors.....now 3 of last 4. |

theres still some hope, but the short game is suffering from lack of golf
putting remains a worry it was great to see him so happy on the course during the champions challenge at st andrews |
