He will, in my view be back to the good old days...Sean Foley has taken much stick about the lack of wins ..since becoming Tiger's coach and to be fair to the guy he has done a very good job in getting Tiger to play at his current level..His miss is nothing like it used to be and the ball flight and control is just right up there...Watch this space....if his short game and putting gets anything like it used to be and he will clean up.....As the old saying goes...form is temp ...

Everyone said he was back to his very best when he won with a fortunate chip in last time out.....when he was at his best he'd have won that event by half a dozen shots and no good luck required. His dominance has ended, of course he may well win tournaments but so might Woody Austin

no luck this week so far, but anyone who doesn't think he will be number1 by the end of the season should give up punting on golf

Someone backed Tiger yesterday at 3.7 to be world No 1 at the end of this year . Do they know something not obvious to the rest of us ? Think he might have to win the remaining 2 majors to get to No 1 ( this ones gone in my book , and 16/1 backs me up ) , so that makes 3.7 a bit off the radar . Open to correction on the machinations involved in the world rankings , do not understand them myself , but 3.7 looks way too skinny .
I know there are other tournaments etc , but Tiger does not play a full schedule like the other guys at the top . Someone was also backing Tiger at 5.7 for the Open , now he is 8 point something a day later . Some weeks ago he was 14 or so . Some strange operators out there . Knee jerk reactions to a few good shots / rounds . But it works both ways apparently . |

Tiger is Finish.
|
|
By:
Bubbagreen has just announced his retirement from punting ....now thats a 1.01 landed
I doubt Tiger is ''finish'' as you suggest onthesnafff....but the era of his dominance,in all probability has. Clearly he will win again but then so will Dustin Johnson,Martin Kaymer et al. |

That lucky shot he made to win his last tournament ,is that the same shot that Nicklaus called "the best shot I have ever seen" Alf ?
|
|
By:
Can't be far off now surely.
|
|
By:
Looked more like the old Tiger last night , Rhino . Luke Donald has gone missing this last few weeks , surely he should be playing this time of the year ?

Looked very solid yesterday. Type of position where he would run-away from the field in times gone by. Good to see him win somewhere which is not a favourite course. Know he has won the A&T before but its not the Arnold Palmer or Bridgestone where he has absolutely dominated. Really drove the ball with good direction / distance and had a number of chances for birdies.
Still a bit of a work in progress but an improvement. Golf is as much a confidence game as any and that will come with wins. Would love to see it in a major although not sure the open is going to see him at his best! |

Good to see the Tiger heading back to where he belongs.
Since he won 6 in 2009 only Furyk has won three in a season until sunday. Good for TV and Sponsors as well. I see CBS ratings were up 188% on last years final round. It won't be long now until the train reaches its destination. Choo Choo! |
|
By:
Yep that time is just around the corner...Seen some vintage Woods this last month, some of the shots he played on Sunday were just like the old days...He has also finally getting to grips with the putter...That Spells big trouble for the rest...!

In his post round interview in the media centre the hacks were talking about his injuries.
Q: I was going to go back to the you’ll never win again type thing. People have been making judgments on you for 10, 11 years now, but you’re the only one who knows your body and the significance of injury, etcetera. Can you see where people might have been coming from having walked off the course at Doral, is this injury going to happen again and again, not knowing what you know, and then go three out of seven and close to full play? TIGER WOODS: Yeah, I won the U.S. Open on a broken leg. I can handle it. Q: We didn’t know it was broken. TIGER WOODS: I did, though. (Smiling). He's back |
|
By:
3 wins so far this year.......2 more majors to go......a win in either or both of these majors will prove the doubters once for all.
|
|
By:
We have reached the penultimate destination.
World Number 2 ![]() Won't be long now till Tiger is on top of the world. |
|
By:
OK , he did not win , his driving is still off , and going into those greens with long irons was always going to catch him out in the end , and his putting was average .... yet he STILL finishes 3rd ... where was Westwood ? where was the Boy Wonder ? where was big Phil etc etc , out with the washing that's where ... Tiger still the one they all have to beat , and they know it .

If he wins at Firestone will that be enough? Glad he didn't win the Open, means his Firestone price will be ok. Winning at all his fave venues - Bay Hill, Muirfield Village, Congressional. Looks good for the Bridgestone.

Can Rory keep place or will we get back to the gap between 1 and 2 being bigger than the gap between 2 and the 1300 |
