Like quite a few on here Rory's made things pretty hard going! With laying a dozen or so towards head of market to begin with was impossible to hope for all to underperform but could have done without one shooting that low and going 2 clear at this stage! Didnt do too much damage during the round thou and none of the other initial lays shot low so could be worse there.
Left Tiger pre tourny but made a complete mess of him, laying at much higher than I wanted but looked like he was losing patience early doors and didnt want to miss out. Left Westwood alone til late in round, laying at average of current price, which looks a little lows still. Did get lucky with a few backs in the afternoon so at least something positive, but need one or two to kick on from a decent start to have any hope of a good week. Current book (not experienced enough to know quite how bad it is but guess theres others with worse) Reds (21 in total including) McIlroy 860 Tiger 795 Westwood 860 O'Hair 840 Daly 835 Casey 755 Fisher 675 Villegas 635 Rose 885 Mickelson 730 Goosen 790 McDowell 720 Stricker 825 Poulter 720 Garcia 665 Harrington 725 Greens Yang 14.4k Dredge 4.1k Hanson 2k Oosterhuizen 2k Anderssen Hed 6.6k Singh 4.7k Coltart 4.6k Karlsson 3.1k Kaymer 2.1k Wilson 3.2k Rock 5k Garrido 11.5k Field +655 Be lucky!! |

On the face of it, a decent day with Tiger whom I backed heavily at 7.6 to win 25k now trading at 5.8
However, Tiger is 4 behind Rory and actually only really shot 1 lower than real par for this particular day therefore has not really distanced himself from most of the field...I think we could get to Sunday with 20 people in with a shout of winning, including some really unfancied characters like Dredge etc.. A difficult day to assess, one could argue that Tiger is right where he wants to be...just off the pace, basically one off the lead except for two young and inexperienced players. Its too early to say its all about Rory, he could shoot plus 1 tomorrow and be swallowed up in the pack..its hard to follow great rounds with another great round and despite his great record at St Andrews, inclement weather in the afternoon could play havoc with his high ball flight.. For the moment, I am leaning towards keeping faith with Tiger with Oosty, Dredge, Hanson, Glover, OHair, Yang, Immelman, Ishikawa, Els and a few others as my wingmen all winning around 5 to 15k with a 7k loss to the field. If Tiger looks shaky early on, at least I have the option of selling him for the same price. |

Could go all green now(mostly due to Oosty) if I wanted to and still have some huge greens , but think I'll let things be as they are for now and hopefully the afternoon wind will make Tiger and Rory fade away...

Not much action for me today, just a watching brief. Laid Westwood @ 9.6 after he finished and got some other lays up that may or may not get matched. Top of the market looks like this:
McIlroy -£79k Woods +£20k Westwood -£78k Hanson +£20k Oosthuizen +£20k Els -£3k Daly -£85k O'Hair +£20k Got big greens on the following early starters tomorrow who I hope might go low in the calmer conditions. Although it is forecast to rain in the morning I'd much rather play in rain and lesser wind than the 25mph stuff, but we'll have to see how it pans out. Yang +£378k Dustin J +£463k Barnes +£203k Stricker +£250k All hinges on McIlroy at the moment, need him to come back to the field tomorrow please. ![]() |

great read guys, just a small time backer but a big golf watcher and at the mo most like kp22,s green book, some great chances with those, really fancy oosthuizen, casey and d johnson to maybe catch up early.
good luck |

also think westwood will be right up there for 3 1/2 rounds then something happens to his brain. so i suppose a lay at 3,s or 4,s a wise play.... just an afterthought

Just before the commencement of day 2, I (for the most part) have a set against the afternoon starters:
Greens: Hanson 5.4k Oosty 5.4k Kaymer 4.1k E Moli 4.6k Johnson 3.1k Furyk 4.5k (finished) Allenby 5k Donald 3.7k Cabrera 4.5k Quiros 3.9k Davies 4.8k Jaidee 7.7k (finished) Schwartzel 4.5k Canizares 12k Reds: Mcilroy 2.2k Woods 2.1k Daly 2.1k Mickelson 2.2k Field -400 Would love to see good starts by Oosty and Hanson |

Got a bit matched on Fisher overnight so hes now included in the field at +630 and all other reds increased by 25.
Have a few nice greens out early so lets hope its kind weather and at least one or two can make fast starts. |

weather today is the elephant on the course
latest news i hear is that afternoon starters will have to contend with very strong winds another sernario--course declared unplayable so late starters will get another bonus. green karlson +5k mickleson +1k woods +£500 red field -1k hav a good day everyone |
|
By:
Sorely tempted as I am to step in again on the woefully short front pair, I've decided that discretion is the better part of valour. Got a tasty three-ball bet, though. Advise when/if matched.
another scenario--course declared unplayable so late starters will get another bonus. Good point, deepwater. Woods, Westy, and Wunderkind will soon start bitching to officials if it starts to blow. Let's hope Paramour takes a tough stance. However, I think it would have to be gale force to start moving balls on the greens, which are not at their fastest. |

Hardly changed overnight.
Field 18.4k Rory -14.5k. Still have all the other reds but will just post the two during the day. |
|
By:
Conditions will be roughly the same as yesterday...highly unlikely for the course to become unplayable with 20mph winds.
Toyed with selling some of my Woods position but have decided that he is right where he needs to be after day 1. The pressure will increase from here on in and he is the master at dealing with this, would love to see Rory win but I still think we will have a dramatic final day with as much as 20 players having a chance on Sunday afternoon. |
|
By:
Bit of action this morning, Oosty on a charge now, and with early starters coping with the rain and a windy forecast for the afternoon have taken on Rory and Tiger a touch more. Also got a big chunk running on Louis at 25.
Rory -5k Tiger -4.4k Field +4.5k VJ +10k Oosthuizen +27k. |

Good stuff TB ,that looks a very good position.

I've added Dustin and Karlsson to my overnight position. Karlsson looks a good addition, picked up a shot already. Dustbin back to -1 though.

I would not worry too much about Loius, I have seen him on numerous occasions implode when contending, he is supremely talented , but woeful under the gun, he amazed me when he actually won
