cant believe broad keeps getting selected tbh..isnt his father on the selection commitee? especially on these pitches you have to go with finn and if the front 8 batsmen cant make enough on the likely pitch, then its no good relying on the tail

Will be interesting to see if they bite the bullet or play safe. With Finn in the eleven England could be a shade of value at 4.1, but I'll probably sit tight and see what the pitch is doing before getting involved.

broad is a bit untouchable cos of the 1 day set-up and his old-man, i was in sri lanka for the 20-20s and in kandy a lot of the barmy army were saying he was becoming a bit of a prima donna - wasn't he part of the notts clan in the kp text nonsense ? - i think most would have finn in for broad now but i doubt it will happen

Yep, Broad and Swann's mate with a fake twitter account at KP's expense- that part of the KP episode seemed to be quietly swept under the carpet.

Tommy Tynan. There's a name to send shudders through the thoughts of centre backs. I remember him and Billy Whitehurst being good old-fashioned centre forwards.
By:

mick harford partnered whitehurst up front somewhere briefly..may even have been at sunderland, not sure if at same time though, but was there ever a more fearsome duo? not talent wise obviously

tommy had a fascinating career , breaking all scoring records as a schoolboy at liverpool he couldn't quite break through , went to newport where he played up front with john aldridge and outscored him as they got to the 1/4 finals of the cup winners cup , was incredible for us , i recall a game he scored 4 at home park v blackburn (really smithy) - now he's a taxi driver in plymouth - give him the manager's job - give him the no 9 shirt

i expect most have seen the 1.92 draw at shaktar - i looked at it (for laying) at 2.3 but having read the miracle of castel di sangrio left it alone - you would think that with their recent history juve, well, looks like chelsea are wasting their time anyway , could be an interesting nite at stamford bridge for rafa
By:

impossible to believe prices like that are down to speculation alone
By:
green army
When: 03 Dec 12 23:25
thought on a bit and having a speculative interest on shakhtar as follows

the last thing either side will want to see happen is a perceived carve up , particularly juve with their history and the british press sniffing around cos of the chelsea factor, i cant see either side downing tools if they are level until late in the game , maybe after 70 mins - so for at least the first half i reckon both sides will go for it , particularly juve who cant afford to lose , and a close high scoring game may happen - the ludicrously low 3-3 price indicates this as a possibility

therefore with possible early goals i'm taking a small interest in AOS at 22 and will look to trade out in-play

i think arsenal at 4 almost look like a back now - the kids are looking for a go in the 1st team & have been v impressive in the cola cola cup - i've taken arsenal 3-2 at 50 & the greeks 3-2 at 38

just seen the draw in india 2.74 - at that price i may give it a lay tonite, will look aagain later - 2.6 or less and I'm on for sure
By:
sweetchildofmine
When: 04 Dec 12 15:31
might just have to lay a little of the 3-3  and a bigger lay on 2-2, i can see a prearranged fix, its too high profile and just takes one pair of loose lips, however the players may themselves take it upon themselves to play out a goalless draw, or even 1-1. its harder to see a manipulated 2-2, 3-3 imo

just read this back and it looks like gobblydeegook but what the hell im going with it Wink

scom i dont think anyone would risk arranging a result as such these days - people have gone to prison & its not quite the italian way to be so obvious, a 0-0 where the game died early in the 2nd half would really look too awful & would have consequences beyond this game

certainly a 1-1 is v possible but for me a 2-2 is more likely, of course we will never know but I reckon if there are any tacit "discussions" anywhere they would go along the lines of, well lets play a "normal" game , but of course if near the end both sides are able to obtain a point this is a good result for both clubs , from an italian perspective there is nothing "wrong" with this approach

wasnt there a game last season where it looked an obvious draw and 2-2, and 3-3 were so incredibly short they just had to be laid

3.5 now
By:

When: 05 Dec 12 10:34
with the draw now odds against in shakhtar i'm not sure why juve aren't faves - there's only 1 side that HAVE to avoid defeat , ie if its a "real" match then they cant risk being level with 10 mins to go
By:
green army
When: 05 Dec 12 10:46
well done jimmy - that draw 3.6 has surely gotta adjust to 4
By:

almost 4.0 now, iv took a punt on england at 3.3, i reckon india made the pitch look a lot worse than the score suggests, and im convinced theres at least one huge innings in this match..step forward england
By:

When: 05 Dec 12 18:34
i agree SCOM I think our spinners are better , & cook & peterson are as good as any of their batsman , batting last is a worry but if we get 100 ahead in the 1st innings it should be enough - with 4 days of 90 overs to come, just can't see how it can be a draw

talking of draws , the shakhtar draw is staying odd against so is it fixed or not ? - if not i think juve should be marginal faves, and i still think there may be goals as it suits both sides to show that it isn't a fix - what happens in the last 1/4 of the game well thats another matter

sweetchildofmine

i suppose i could secure a green as england now into 3.0, but im just going to let it run

touching 4 now , with a .4 shift you can trade in play even when they're not playing

rafa doesnt look too happy

england have been rightly v popular at 2.92 at eden gardens

may be a trade brewing on sunday real betis 11 v barca , messi looks v unlikely to recover when carried off tonite , betis (sevilla game excepted) are a dour resilient side esp at home beating real 1-0 a couple of weeks back , may come in to single figures
