As I sit back down ... thought crossed my mind about what TrevH implied in another thread recently .. about selectively posting up bets and also since not all the selections are strictly pre-event selections (yep I do do IR plays) ... then the whole challenge thread should be discounted ...
Posting up the bets is more so for me ... bit like a diary (one of which I hoped to learn from as I go along ...) .... but it does become hard work sometimes ... yep I do have a life outside of here ... Perhaps I should just post up a summary at the end of the day ... and not bother with all this .... |

... I mean many other challenge threads that have come and gone don't post up their bets as and when - and simply just summarise how they have done.
So I guess there is no real reason why I can't do the same  ...I used to feel obligated to post up my bets literally as fast as I physically could .... but I do get irritated when someone like TrevH with all his theory of 'value' being the be all end all of whether you are successful or not on BF. Sadly (or well quite happy actually) TrevH - sports betting is much more dynamic than simply back or laying a 0-0 on a football game. My betting theory is based around creating the right utility function for the individual ... |

I don't think there's much point reading too much into what Trev says. He's entitled to his opinion, but if people want to read your thread then they're also entitled to come to an opinion as to whether they believe you or not.
You bang in a hell of a lot of bets, so you're going to 'aftertime' every now and again. If that upsets some people, they can choose to give your thread a miss. (As Trev has essentially chosen to do.) You should run the thread so that you personally feel you're getting something from it - it shouldn't be something that you feel obliged to do for the sake of others. If there are other posters who have issues, tough luck! |

Posting up bets as you're doing them is very hard work. That's why most users give it up after a while. It starts off being a bit of fun, but very soon the need to keep posting up every single bet (particularly with other posters feeling free to drop in and criticise you whenever they want) turns it into a chore.
If the constant posting and ensuing debates are affecting your betting or state of mind at all, you might want to consider cutting down for a while. After all, while many here may pretend to be your friend, it's not really going to affect any of us if your trading goes down the pan. Betting is treading a thin line at the best of times. Anything that might possibly make you wander off that line is definitely to be avoided! |

Yep you are right ... like I have mentioned in the past posting up the bets is firstly for me ... as a bit like a diary as well as a learning tool (I have learnt I am not an expert tennis punter  ) ....I have to do it for me first and foremost ... just sometimes LB the challenge and this thread can get so tiring to keep focused on .... yep I know time out can be helpful ... |

Crossed posts ... yep you are right LB. It is just so hard sometimes in the face of the 'public eye' when you bet on something, or you over bet or you lose 4 bets in a row etc .... but I will plug away as best I can.
It is for me and not others to dictate how I should do my challenge .... all the best |

LB - Yeh Isner certainly been doing well under his limited technical ability (well apart from the all important serve). Thought he might get done in last night ... and perhaps lucky in a few key moments but certainly the serve gives him a big advantage.
