I'm having a good time on the horses this week, but I'm honking up on the tennis.  I bet on Ivanovic when she was down a break yesterday, so that one went well. But then I put a good-sized lay on Li in the second set and was on the verge of going to bed when I decided to watch a bit of the Li match instead. She broke back and I decided to cut my losses and take a hit of half my money regardless of the outcome. Annoyingly, Li went on to lose, of course, so I could have made myself some good money just by going to bed!   Then I put a lay on Nadal 3-0, just in case Golubev played decently. Annoyingly, despite Golubev having great chances to take both the 2nd and 3rd sets, I ended up losing on that one too....      Today I lost a fairly insignificant amount on the Robson match (I'm blaming the 18 months she spent being born in your country for those atrocious last two points!). After that I put a substantial lay on Mad Vera in the 2nd set of her game. Stupidly I turned down the (very enticing) chance to go decent green on both players when it went to a 3rd set, and then watched that one go down the pan too. (And in quite drawn out fashion too!)

So, all in all, pretty miffed with the tennis so far. I usually do well over the course of a tennis grand slam, although I might try and keep out of this one and stick to the profitable horse racing instead!

PS: I've put a lay on Murray at 1.05, but this one is very very speculative...

No, I really can't see Nadal winning here. He generally struggles with the US Open surface, and I don't think he's got the intensity or the power this year. He won't go down easily - partly because he plays the big points so incredibly well. However, I'd be gobsmacked if he ends up the winner. I honestly think he needs a good break from the game if he's to get back his old punch.  (And it wouldn't hurt if he slipped some gluten into Djoko's drink!)

... yep until he cramps in his hamstring ... oh ffs.

... nothing more to say about that tennis bet ... well apart from the laugh I got from the other BF user who took my money with a thank you very much ...

Although Baggy is still fighting away ... I will close off the summary for "today'. Some big hits in the tennis - which slightly disappointed with especially Almagro while thought Baggy might be able do Isner  in a five setter (as opposed to three setter)... but at least a very nice win in the T20 cricket. Was looking initially to play a lay of 3-0 Isner which in hindsight would have been the safer option ... oh well that's the way it goes take the good with the bad ...

A bad end to yesterday and a poor start to today ... oh well these things happen.

Too many largish bets on the tennis did me in yesterday ... Always frustrating when the challenge is doing quite well and then one day literally creates a large backward step. Saying that for some reason I have been doing a few overstaking bets over the last few days - some coming off quite nicely but others like yesterday didn't.

Work to get through today as well .....
