had a look at a similar system (on paper at this stage, not using cash) of laying long shots/complete outsiders in the horse place markets today.
All going well, until my theoretical lay Feeling Peckish came second at 50-1 (place was around 17 I think to place) when only two places paid out! Probably not the best circumstances to lay in a field that size with 6 runners, but this looked a real no hoper. So I'd be well down on day one. |

Maybe you should only lay with fields over 7 horses?
I suppose the place market would be another good way of researching things but i was unsure as there is enough money available in it?? |

doesn't amount to much difference really, 8 runners, 3 horses place, so that's 5 unplaced, 6 runners, 2 places, so 4 unplaced.
But yeah, maybe it's better to lay the outsiders for a place in fields of 10 or more, at least you have more runners going for you. Liquidity isn't great in the places, no, Freelancer wouldn't be able to do his 150 lays on outsiders in that. But for smaller stakes, you could use this market, and I keep being told in this thread nothing wrong with playing small and that it soon builds up :-) |

Yeah, im laying at small odds and looking to increase it gradually over time, i suppose i see this as a 5 year plan, hopefully in the 4th and 5th year i will have the knowledge and ability to place those big Lay Bets and win more and more!
Im more of a football layer but trying my best to source a way of laying horses to make a profit!! Hard work though! |

I tried to lay 1k @ 1.2 got bit part had to go up to 1.23 watched the match until HT thought that's that fooked. Me and my lass were at tunrberry last weekend and we saw this new series called damages on sunday nights, she had recorded it and send come on we'll watch it cause it is good. so we watched it i came back through after it was finished and saw a hatrick had been scored :^0 |
