yeah bobby, don't doubt his credentials, there for all to see, I was just wondering if he'd mainly used similar systems with say a modest starting bank and he'd worked his way right up to his current level where he can be exposed for thousands and not worry about it, or if he'd come to Betfair with a fairly big bank already.

Deeper, i think in the first few pages he said that he started laying high odds with smaller stakes- ie- 20 per lay bet and gradually progressed to now placing 150 Lay Bets.

Not sure if uses a % per bet or how he picks his selections but he does also stathe that he has wiped out his bank 3 times in 3 years, obviously he classes his bank as 5k or whatever he starts with so the profit he makes does not come into consideration for this.

He also mentions he is in a syndicate with i believe some of his family, god i wish i was related!!! LOL

Ive paper based 31 football bets, mainly correct score and In Play (ie- when a goal is scored lay the losing team).

So far i have won every lay bet, but have come frighteningly close on 3 occassions.

Had 2 lay bets tonight (on paper) Lay Crewe v Leeds 1-0 and 0-0, so won those 2 also.

Have based the results on a bank of 2000 with lay bets of 25. My Paper Bank now stands at 2736.25.

Will up my lay bets when and if i get to the weekend without a loser!!!

You do need a bit of luck laying at these odds though. You're still relying on the hopefully very rare payout coming at the end of a sequence of successful lays, what happens if you lose early on in the run? You'd be well down then, and requiring more capital to start up again.

Footsoldiers can cover this no problem with his capital outside his Betfair account by the sounds of it, which is why I asked the question earlier, did he make his money using strategies like this, in which case he must have had a fair bit of luck too not to be wiped out early on (and I did read the comments about his 5k bank being wiped out 3 times, and being minus p&l early on) But following on from these setbacks, he must have had a fair bit of luck aswell as choosing the right selections to build the bank up again.

I mean his liability now at any time is still only a fraction of his overall capital, so no harm done, but it's a question of how you get to this position in the first place.

How long you paper trading for Bobby ,before playing for real.

He has shown that it is possible, but like you say, at the initial stage you do need alot of luck to get to this stage, luck and time and patience seems to be the key!!

Dont know New Born, i have about 4k im willing to put into BF but like deeper says, what if the inevitable happens at an early stage.

I do feel that laying football teams is a good way to profit but unlike Horse Racing there are much fewer games so would take much much longer.

I have been looking into Horse Racing but dont have much knowledge on this so i feel this could be a disaster before it even starts!!

Suppose if i started with 2k and placed lay bets for between 20- 25 this could be a good way to start the ball rolling

to answer some of your questions

I had nothing and came from nothing, as you can see from my work history earlier on in the thread... I didn't start to make decent money from any of my jobs until i became a manager at royal and iff you can call 1600 per month decent well that's up to you

Good Evening FS- Had a good kip, weve all been discussing how to make it on BF as you can probably see, any words of wisdom for us???

it was backing rangers and celtic double every week that built up my bank @ 1/2 ans i used my managers bonus to do that.

What initial Bank did you start off with on here? and did you gradually lay to a % of your bank?

With these Horse lay bets, do you have an in depth knowledge of the races or do you just base it purely on %'s from previous races?

Or do you want me to shut up and stop asking so many questions!!!!

then i found my edge and knew right away it would work tried it tested it then took the step to pack in my job and the rest is history

i got 17k from my redundency, for 12 years at royal mail half than my yearly wage.
By:
bobbydazler1981
When: 14 Jan 08 19:10
Do you really make on average 1500 a day, this would be an unbelievable amount each month?!
By:
Footsoldiers
When: 14 Jan 08 19:11
i used my 17k redundancy as a bank and layed small and consistent and you will suprised how quick it builds up, then you just take it from there.

no magical staking plan and no mystery just a good edge.
By:
Footsoldiers
When: 14 Jan 08 19:13
it's all relative booby

1500 sounds a lot per day, when you think of the 9-5 worker and what wages you get paid in the real world.

but i've just shown over a number of days, done in the right manner it's not actually that difficult.
By:

When: 14 Jan 08 19:13
well there's the question answered footsoldiers. Your bank was pretty big to start with, not like the few thousand or hundred the majority on here would be starting up with, that was what I was wondering, if say you started with 2k and worked up from there to these current levels using a laying system like this, bit different starting out with 17k! But fair play all the same.
By:
Footsoldiers
When: 14 Jan 08 19:14
1000 a day is nearer the norm but 1700 has been achieved a number of times

it depends on what is on to back on, summer months are the best.
By:
Footsoldiers
When: 14 Jan 08 19:16
17k is nothing deeper in debt

it was half my yearly salary, that was some risk to take, you walk away from a good job a good pension with half your yearly wage but all the bills and overheads still need to pay..

it's hogwash thinking you can make netfair pay because you have a bigger bank..

i'll give you 17k and see how u get on without an edge, you'll be eaten alive..

bobbydazler1981

I tell you what would be a great idea, if you forward me the criteria of how you select your Lay Bets and i will ensure that we both make lots of money together and live happily ever after!!!
