TOTGA.... you have a lot of selections and i cannot fathom the common denominator.
Excellent strike rate, if as you say you are new to racing Keep it going and best of luck |

By:
Grumpy, ive never been a fan of Horse Racing but always felt there was potential laying horses, there is a method in my madness and i do record and research results from a selection of horses that fit the criteria.
So far it has been an excellent laying system but it is inevitable that i will hit a loser, hopefully i will hit more winners than losers though! :-) |

shame about footsoldiers losing other peoples money, been reading through most of this thread today since being brought back up and there are some useful bits of info and advice.
|
|
By:
Totally agree Jeski, There is alot of advice on the threads he has been involved in, cant understand how he lost all that cash, must of got too greedy at some point?!

Roznic was the next lay at 5.1, but have after-timed again!
Wont be including that but will defo be making a note of how close it finished! |
|
By:
I think he lost the bulk on a rangers away game in europe, first proper lay at a massive price and they won, then chased. Thats the only problem with laying like this, the moment you decide to go for real cash, it bites you

too right grumpy, im not sure if i could ver play with a liability so high, although if you can get an excellent strike rate. it certainly could be the route to riches.
Self Discipline is required, but imagine laying something at 20.0 or 30.0 for £150 and it winning, that would be pretty devastating. |
|
By:
Yes I agree, TOTGA, thats why I am using a version Of Maria's staking plan, I am prepared to lay upto 20.0, providing I can Maintain a strike rate in excess of 88% - which is the hard bit. A winner at that price will only set you back a bit, and I would be looking to return an investment of approx 7% per week.
So far I am 13/14 (92%) though far too early to assume that rate will maintain, and my winner has not affected the bank too much. Every winner will subject me to reviewing/refining my selection process if necessary, however if the strike rate remains healthy I won't be rushing to change things. Slow, steady profits, methodical selections and a strategic money management plan are my way forward as i doubt i could handle the stress of £1k liabilities with every bet!! |
|
By:
Do you have a link to Maria's staking plan, i did look at it a few months ago and think i printed the staking plan off but not sure what i did with it!
Would be interested to see what liabilities she layed too and also see her strike rate? There was talk on another thread that the only reason she was so succesful is because she layed so many of the horses at prices below SP but would love to have a look through her stats etc. |
|
By:
It was on expert betting advice. but I think it is no longer available.
If you google Fred 77, I'm sure you'll be able to read old betfair threads on the subject. She layed a percentage (small) of her bank dependent on odds - (1%, 0.6% and 0.4% if i remember correctly) In her first few weeks she struggled and was up and down, perhaps that was her losing streak, but she went from 49k to 100k in three weeks with a remarkable run( perhaps that was her winning streak) Hope you find what you want |
|
By:
As for laying at below SP, i can understand where people are coming from, but the fact that we are on Footsoldiers thread it is worth remembering one of his quotes, if we are convinced that an event will lose does it matter on that event if we lay over SP?
I'm not saying we should be laying bad value, btw |
