won 2-1 playing against 9 men.  own goal and a deflected shot (keeper saves otherwise).
should've had the league sown up by now given the dire standard of the old firm.

Hearts have done brilliant to get into position they are in and IF they get it over the line, magnificent achievement and if the opposition never met the needs and expectations of their fans, that’s there problem, deal with it.
Motherwell and Falkirk have been very good also.

rangers have been dire for years bar winning it under gerrard and bottling it under clement - other than that’s there’s not been a realistic challenge to Celtic in about 15 years

this rangers team is not significantly worse than what’s been normal fare from them for ages - Celtic have significantly underperformed but it was almost predictable

Hearts have done really well although Tony bloom did predict at the start of the season that they should be aiming to split the old firm - presumably didn’t pull that out the air and probably knew from the data that there wasn’t that much between hearts and rangers at least

anyone’s title imo - If maeda back near to his best rather than a one-off v falkirk that would be a big boost for Celtic - rangers on their day possibly the best of the 3 but look to be the flakiest under pressure - hearts have the 3 points in the bag plus the most likely to score a couple without leaking 2 or 3 in their own net

If results go hearts way next weekend it’s getting very close to being done

11 v 11 Hibs scored against the run of play - every chance hearts would have won that game 11 v 11 (or lost or drawn)

keeping 11 men on the pitch especially in a derby is part of skills required to win one

Why do people think hearts should have had the league won already - the only significant lead they have had was months and months ago ie during the tie when no-one was taking it seriously - since the real business end started they maybe had a 6 point lead at one point but it’s not likes it’s been 12 or something - they’ve got a 3 point lead now ie only 3 less than their best lead that wasn’t months ago

They’ve dropped some points in games they would be expected to win but so does almost every team including teams who eventually win the league

rangers have spent about £30m pre season and £12m on decent signings in January - they wasted a lot of the £30m but hearts are signing players from the Norwegian second division and Italian 3rd division on “hearts wages”

as the manager says in almost every press conference hearts are not wholly better than anyone else in the league including those at the bottom - they have to play well / find a way to win any game they win - there’s no freebies like a good Celtic side would get that are 2 or 3 up after 30 mins

Celtic get a winner in the 99th minute.

Now effectively a play off last day. Celtic take the title with a win, Hearts just need a draw.

But for that goal Celtic would have needed to win by 3

That pen was massively harsh, Celtic players never even appealed for it.

It's shocking to give a penalty for that.

Clear penalty. Though the one they should have got in the first half was even clearer.

interesting that the guy who gave away the penalty tonight  got a lot of abuse from Hearts fans when he was playing there   ???

Decisions like that run the risk of turning Scottish football into a joke

Great match Motherwell played very good football and definitely deserved something from the game.
The late penalty decision I’m not sure about but I was watching it 3 non Celtic fans and they all thought it was a penalty.
I think there has been a bit of overreaction to decision.
Celtic had a clear penalty not given in first half were is all the pundits views on this decision? Was this discussed in depth?
For avoidance of doubt the referee and officials running VAR last night are certainly not Celtic supporters, far from it.

Laugh

Come on now Malay. Not a single player called for the handball. Even Sutton on comms never had a clue what the Var was for. You expect us to beleive that 3 "non celtic" fans you were with thought it was a penalty???

Aye don’t believe me if you don’t want to, no big deal, I’ve already stated I’m not sure.
What’s your own opinion on first half one not given?
I thought it was a good match and a credit to Scottish football, big crowd, exciting, few goals and Motherwell should be proud of their input to that.
Never seen Falkirk game but heard their offside goal was borderline and if stood possibly could have changed context of match.

Thanks MJK, I thought McIness was pretty foolish to comment on one particular flashpoint in a match he didn’t attend, but nobody asked him to comment on the first half Celtic penalty probably wouldn’t make enough headlines or click bait.
Anyway exciting end of season for his club and Celtic, may best team on the day get result they deserve and no controversy, although have my doubts on the latter.

Not sure what one you are meaning in the first half Malay so couldn't give an opinion.

He clearly has his hand up at his head. Whether it hits it is anyones guess. the photos show it was up there as well. Never seen a hand do a bulltet header though.

'Clear and obvious' it aint. No one claimed for it and even Sutton had no clue what the VAR was for.

McInnes anger comes from two penalties that Hearts didnt get against Motherwell one was blatant the other in the context of last night was another penalty
its really fine margins and I hope Hearts get the draw or win they need - they deserve it imo and Im completely impartial as a Dons fan but it would be good for Scottish football to break this 40+ year monopoly.

McInnes is building a siege mentality just like Ferguson did with Aberdeen he drilled into them that nobody liked them especially the west coast clubs, the media, the SFA
etc it worked Aberdeen went down there and beat Celtic and Rangers time after time in Glasgow and broke their stranglehold McLean adopted much the same approach with Dundee Utd
Saturday might come too soon for that to filter through especially to the foreign players and I fear the wait will go.

Did Lineker say it was worst VAR ever? WTF Crazy

That decision so far as VARS go was straight forward. Hand in un-natural position and in refs view he touches it.
By:

No one at the time even knew what Var was for.

Ridiculous to suggest you know what Refs view was.

I have serious respect for job mcinnes has done at tynecastle to get them in a brilliant position.
Regarding the past days Fergie and Wee Jim absolutely brilliant football managers however they did have a lot of very good players who would have walked into Celtic or Rangers teams and many big clubs in England.
Not sure that’s currently the case with tynecastle squad but in fairness I don’t watch them regularly but I will be watching at weekend, hoping for good match.

Shrewd dude did you watch the Motherwell v Celtic match, ? if you did, you must have went to toilet at some time and missed the goalkeeper taking maida out, a penalty all day long.

I must have Malay.

I did see a situation where a guy was running backwords with no intention to do anything with the ball and another was running forwards to try and win the ball and both collided.

God know how anyone would think that was a pen or foul on anywhere on the park.

If you are not a Motherwell supporter I know you are not a Celtic supporter why was that your choice of match ? Was the game at Ibrox not of any interest? tav farewell and all that good stuff, I thought that would be pretty good, although it probably didn’t turn out very good.

coachbuster - thats not true about sam nicholson - he was well liked at hearts and a bit of a hero when he first came through as hearts were under a signing ban ard were pretty much playing the under 19s squad - nicholson scored at least 2 goals v hibs including one in a 1-0 win when hearts hibs and rangers were trying to get back to the top league - hes also a hesrts supporter

ultimately lacked a yard of pace thats pretty much the only reason he didnt stay at hearts longer
