Typical. The Hearts manager gets admonished for calling out a clown. The SFA is barking up the wrong tree.
Report MALAY May 15, 2026 6:55 PM BST
Are you raging ?
Correct Dallas is a Motherwell fan, on that not sure how you know how much his brain works at his job, maybe you can tell us why the foul penalty on maeda wasn’t given at Fir Park then first half.
His dad was unlucky he was never anti catholic or anti Celtic when he was top man in Lanarkshire referees, others may have flaunted it as banter or maybe they were anti Celtic.
The McLeans are rangers fans.

However it was a penalty on Wednesday,it hit his hand and under guidelines correct decision was given, do I think guidelines are not great for game ? Definitely

Off topic slightly what were you thoughts on bad decisions given not in favour of Celtic at Easter road recently ? Could not tell you referee was or who appointed him ?
Report Autocue May 15, 2026 7:01 PM BST
Put up a link to the photo or video that shows the referee made a clear and obvious error when he first decided it was not a penalty. I think the lack of evidence to that effect is what is pishing so many people off.
Report N-east Correspondent May 15, 2026 7:08 PM BST
If the Celtic one was a penalty the other night, Hearts should have had two against Motherwell simple as that
McLean must have been the only person not to think there was contact in the box he was basically told he made a
mistake Collum has conceded that it was a pen, even the arm ball in the first half is a penalty on the basis it
was in an unnatural position soft yes but still a penalty - really hope Hearts do it tomorrow in the words of
Keegan would love absolutely love it!

the sfa statement is an absolute joke - first of all it should be trying to calm things down instead of using incendiary words like “hysterical” and “knee- jerk” etc

also the body of the text can be summarised - they are basically blaming everyone who doesn’t think it should have been a penalty to Celtic Laugh
Report MALAY May 15, 2026 7:24 PM BST
Keegan “absolutely love it” remember it well mcinnes “disgusting “ comment reminded me of it.

Let’s hope it’s same result MON remains as cool as F at 74.
Report MALAY May 15, 2026 7:40 PM BST
I think SFA statement was magnificent because it was total overaction and hysterical fuelled by 2 particular pundits. They have to safeguard their employees from danger, they have a duty of care.
Report maysoon3 May 15, 2026 7:55 PM BST
Autocue - some people are saying rather than the ref making a clear and obvious error the ref completely missed the incident - var see it and raise it with the ref and effectively put all the pressure on him

looks like the bulk of the Celtic fans who say it’s a penalty base it on - guy in the box hits his hand and hand in unnatural position - even if it did hit his hand (I don’t think it’s conclusive) are the rules as straightforward as that

I’ve seen journalists say stuff like this - trusty pushed the arm up into an unnatural position // the hand is not in unnatural position because it’s within the silhouette of his body ie if his hand is not there it hits his head

Hearts had what looked like a stonewaller refused against Kilmarnock months ago but it wasn’t the reason being it hit his head first and went onto his arm (the guy was falling over)

so if the Motherwell player headed and it hit his hand it’s potentially the same as that

in the recent hearts rangers game again looked like a stonewaller hearts should have had as the rangers defender arm looked in an unnatural position - Collum said it wasn’t an unnatural position for someone jumping and he would issue guidance to refs that when players jump their arms will be in different positions than if they are not jumping

rather than blaming Gary lineker and worldwide journalists who now are back to thinking Scottish football is joke they could come out and explain why that decision is fine and close off a few of the theories people are having (possibly due to ignorance of the finer details of the rules)
Report maysoon3 May 15, 2026 8:01 PM BST
the sfa could have got their point across with a much more concise and less emotive statement and also taken a bit more responsibility rather than blaming people on social media for saying they disagreed with the Celtic penalty decision

actually reminded me of the rambling tone-deaf statements that the Celtic board has been issuing to their fans which just made the situation much worse - while obviously I wouldn’t condone the Celtic fans assaulting and threatening the board members I do think the fans have a point and the board have tried to treat them like idiots
Report maysoon3 May 15, 2026 8:04 PM BST
Malay - who are the two pundits - Boyd and mccoist ?

maybe Boyd should mind his mouth a bit but he is a pantomime villain - a less subtle version of Sutton - no one should be taking his opinion on stuff like this too seriously imo
Report MALAY May 15, 2026 8:43 PM BST
I don’t like Boyd or Sutton.
I think Sutton personal comments about Tavernier were disgraceful and personal “ heart size of a pea”
If you want to criticise a certain player’s limitations that is fine, all players have that nobody’s perfect.
However Tavernier was magnificent signing at the money 250k, captained club to stop 10 in a row and a European final.
Scored a lot of goals, majority penalties

Hearts didn't deserve to win it. We had it in our own hands at times and never took it.

If ever there was a manager I would want to be pipped for a title by though it would probably be Martin O'Neil. He comes across as a class act and very good at what he does.

That was farce at the end though. Not that it would have made any difference but the game was effectively ended because of a pitch invasion.

Shrewd a big fine I'd say for Celtic. In fairness the fans in the stand didnt want this at all and let those on the pitch know. I do think though that the bitterness from everywhere before and after the game, mostly from people who dont support either side, was ridiculous. Amazing how many people who'd never watch that 'farmers league' were so involved this week. I haven't seen many poorer Celtic squads in my years watching them which will no doubt make it harder to take for Hearts. Have to mention Motherwell on their fourth place finish. The best team to watch this season imop.
Report MALAY May 16, 2026 9:08 PM BST
Pitch invasion disgrace shrewd, obviously didn’t affect result but this garbage is happening regularly not just Celtic, definitely action must be taken by the authorities.
Big fine for clubs and players are fined or suspended if they are catalyst for pitch invasion.
It’s a shame in many ways players can’t go to their fans to celebrate but we don’t want to go back to metal fences.
Obviously Celtic have problems with certain elements of their support and my view may initiate further problems but I think anybody who can be identified should have season ticket taken and barred.
Only way to stop it.

I think it should be mentioned the referee didnt blow the whistle on the pitch, under sfa law when a game isnt finished because of a pitch invasion the game is to be awarded to the team who suffered the indiscretion with a score of 3-0.This wont happen though as its Celtic we are talking about.

the goal was onside and it was a penalty - the key decisions happened in the two Motherwell games

hearts ran out of midfielders after beni baningame went off injured - that left devlin who’s just back from injury and wasn’t fit both injury wise and fitness wise- Spittal has been playing well but his strengths are being the additional creative midfielder rather than chasing around as a spoiler

Interestingly hearts were written- off by Celtic fans then they celebrated like they had won the champions league - assuming they try to assault the opposition players when they win the champions league Laugh
Report maysoon3 May 17, 2026 4:03 PM BST
the Hibs fans reaction was understandable but the reality is hearts have just split the OF and qualified for the champions league - although is long odds they get through multiple qualifying rounds

It is not clear. There appeared to be no real attempts made to restart the game,  hardly a plethora of messages stating clear the field or the match will be abandoned. So it was a mess up all around. Hearts would not have scored 2 goals in a month of Sundays, Celtics manager would have told his players to kick the ball back gradually back to the keeper, half the time would be gone just there. However, Hearts had a fantastic year, this game did not decide the title, it is all the matches in the season that make it up. One thing that most commentators in Scotland would agree about, every decision about the big 2 and now adding Hearts to make it 3, is a conspiracy. If the SPL had all the SPL matches run with overseas officals, they would soon be embroiled in politics and taking sides. The league has always been toxic. The most entertaining team IMHO all season was Motherwell

Report MJK May 17, 2026 4:24 PM BST
Celtic beat the other three top four teams the last week. Hearts couldn't match that. Hearts away form probably let them down. On the game itself the manager was at pains beforehand to tell everyone they were going for the win. Bar set pieces it was clear they were playing for a draw. Even the free at the end was shocking when you think it was probably Scales on his own gonna have to try take care of anything that was launched in. All of that was Hearts own fault and nobody else's. Putting the players straight on  the bus afterwards was unnecessary but its no surprise from the manager. There's disappointment and then there's his hatred. Hope he's still feeling the pain.
Report maysoon3 May 17, 2026 4:30 PM BST
I think the same happened at Motherwell scored the penalty pitch invasion and game ended

hearts were done and had no chance of scoring two goals imo but thought the same when Scotland played Norway - took them 30 seconds in ball time to score two peaches despite playing particularly poorly in the rest of the game

Maybe the ref could have said at Motherwell at 2-2 with Celtic I just blew up early as I couldn’t see anyone scoring or back in the day when Celtic lost the league in the last minute at Motherwell the ref could have just said ah I couldn’t see Motherwell scoring twice so I just ended the game

but of course that’s not the rules
Report Susquehanna May 17, 2026 4:36 PM BST
Celtic won the league because ultimately Hearts have a wage bill that's 80% less than what Celtics is.
That and Hearts being in the embryonic stage of their drive towards the top under Bloom.
They left the ground promptly after their players were verbally and physically threatened following the pitch invasion.
Report maysoon3 May 17, 2026 4:41 PM BST
hearts main set piece targets are mcentee magnusson and halkett - all injured  Findlay is good too but not as effective as the only target - hearts main weapons of physicality and set pieces greatly reduced - allowing shankland to sneak in at the back post was a shocker

if mcinnes was playing for a draw he would have played an extra midfielder instead of kabore (braga only fit for a few minutes) he also wouldn’t have brought on attacking players like chesnokov when he had more defensive options still sitting on the bench

Celtic won 9 out of their last 10 games so deserve to win the league but the decisions at Motherwell definitely had an affect on the outcome - and the people who claim a dodgy decision on game 4 is the same as the 3rd last game are pretty clueless imo - like a jockey losing a stirrup and becoming unbalanced at fence one it’s plenty time to recover or 3m later at the last fence in a driving finish clearly not the same
