I can’t blame him. He simply doesn’t deserve this treatment because he isn’t to blame. A bit repetitive, a bit emotional, a bit too much”see what I did for this club” but right nevertheless.
He won’t beat the club though. If Messi couldn’t cow Barcelona he won’t beat Liverpool. Sad. Hope he has a great Africa tournament. |

Salah kicking off if it all went wrong was always going to be a big player.

ME ME ME, did he mention how much he has done for the club.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch
Arne Slot says Ibrahima Konate has been "a bit too much at the crime scene" this season. |
|
By:
There'll be a disaster movie made about the goings on at that club over the summer. If they gave control of the club to an Evertonian it wouldn't be worse.

“The respect, I want to get. I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earned it.
That's an absolute shocker of a quote. |
|
By:
I think he's talking about respect there rather than his place in the team. English is not his first language.
The statement is agenda driven tho, it was the same last year. There are people at the club who likely didn't want to give him an extension. Slot is prob one of them and maybe another. He wouldn't be talking about potentially leaving if there wasn't someone willing to pay the 400kpw he's on, which there normally isn't for that money at his age. Likely the Saudis. |
|
By:
Maybe he goes on strike to force a move after afcon.
|
|
By:
Is that what he is on? Wow! It a very comforting compensation for his disappointment isn’t it. It can’t be football that is the issue I feel, has to be much more to this.
|
|
By:
He ran his prev contract down before that too and was on 350k basic last season. Estimated to make close to 1m a week when image rights and bonuses are included. He's an african, muslim and arab. Generates huge revenues and the image rights are just a cut of what pool make from that.
|
|
By:
At £1million a week I doubt he is going anywhere near a bus.

slots /clubs mistake was giving, begging Salah to sign a new contract whatever the stats say salah was on a dramatic decline last season in comparison to his earlier seasons, but hard to say when they cantered to LG but it was there for all to see, lived of a cyrler at b,mouth that you see half a dozen times every weekend for 6 months with a few Johnny on the spot goals thrown in, scousers will probably do a TAA and turn on another of their GOATS

to be fair to Salah, carra did ask him to face up and speak out about current situation at l,pool

NO HE WASNT |

again to be fair to SLOTT,
that quote about konate that he,s been at TO MANY CRIME SCENES ,will go down ahead of some of cloughies greatest quotes must be close to best quote I've ever heard ![]() ![]() |

it was that good I couldn't quote it correctly

imagine how all those stuck up their own Arris journo,s feel this morning when Salah has gone to a Norwegian journo to try and blow l,pool apart, they must be fuming
|
|
By:
Not a great quote from Slot. He is the man in charge of securing the crime scenes.
|
|
By:
loony journo on SS just said klopp can justify dropping Salah because their unbeaten in 3 games , 5 pts off 2 of the bottom 4 and promoted Sunderland, think 100% of l,pool fans would call that an embarrassing return,SLOTT probably thought/banked on getting 9 pts from these 3 games so took the chance to drop Salah and its backfired enough for Salah to try and use the situation to oust slott

Partly in regard to comments on other threads for context..
His legs certainly haven't gone, he was in fantastic shape for the first 5-6 months of last season to get the contract or other offer.. he doesn't like not being 'the guy' which when you bring in two 100m plus players you simply aren't and he's desperate to win an AFCON so doesn't want to run himself into the ground for 'the team' when he's never had to previously..contract extension was always a gammble at that age for numerous reasons (as said at the time) , he may well have thought (misguidedly) he'd have significant other clubs interested as well in Europe..with the domestic title won again, his main interest is likely Egypt.. |
|
By:
interesting to see if he does plays before he joins the egypt squad because he might have played his last game in the prem lge
could see him going in january of they don't sort it pre afcon and dec is going to be dominated by the where's mo off to media frenzy which will not be what the lpool team needs right now |

Lets get one thing straight.....Arne Slot is a total bluffer. He was blessed to be handed a half decent team and won the league last year in one of the worst seasons historically with the 2nd place team having one of the worst points totals in recent EPL history.
Conceded over 40 goals as well which unless I'm mistake is the most conceded by a winning team this century. Konate has been awful for the whole season and still Slot picks him. He is the only defender to make Antony Gordon look good as a striker. |
|
By:
So still pick him when hes 84 coz he earnt it ..hes been great in the past and pretty damn bad this year..view of a narcissist..they tend not to think like others..think this will seal any lingering doubts about the future
|
|
By:
Around the time time of signing his new contract he was not playing well. Since then no. Salah looks like he is using this to go away.
|
|
By:
It doesn't matter if he is a total bluffer, this issue isn't about him or the small, miniscule matter of whether Liverpool have a good season or not, it's far more important than that, this is about one player's treachery against a great club that have rewarded him massively for his service, service that his recent actions have displayed has provided Liverpool with success but he's shown that the success of the club is very much only of concern to him if it massages his ego in the process.

He's never recovered from 90 minutes in livramento's pocket at Wembley.
4/6 to sign for any Saudi club in transfer window |

Beckham might have a sniff

41 goals conceded, but only 32 by the time they won it with 4 games left. They were partying in Ibiza while there was still 2 games to play.

No I disagree with that duffy, sry. Of course he is concerned with the success of the team which is why he is bitching about sitting on the bench. He wants to be on there playing his part, imv. Otherwise, if he didn’t care, he would be smiley/happy just to take the dosh. It strikes me that he hasn’t been told why he is not picked, and it is the not telling that sickens any player. For whatever reason they want to shift him, is my view.
He should have a heads up with Sir Kenny. He was dropped a few times in his career, by club and country (when perfs. dipped a bit. Not often by ‘pool but ant least three times by Scotland ) and he just rolled his sleeves up, got at it and back into the sides. He would give him good advice imo. |

“The respect, I want to get. I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earned it.
That's an absolute shocker of a quote. Not shocking at all. Total common sense. Players get to a stage in their careers where they do not need to be running the b*llocks off themselves on some winter training ground to prove themselves and get picked. Salah has shown what he brings. He single handedly dragged that team to a title last year. Now of course he is getting older. No one denies that but the question is whetehr he is good enough. Isak &. Gakpo looks utter trash so hard to see why he has been dropped. |
|
By:
Isak in perticular hasn’t fitted in but Wirtz is not Liverpool’s greatest signing either.

I made a perfectly reasonable post, subsequent to yours Duffy of 15.34 and to my utter astonishment the moderator not only commented but didn’t publish it.

treated him fairly either. |

On 9 February 2015, Brendan Rodgers said that Sterling had been offered "an incredible deal" to stay at Liverpool, rumoured to be a new contract worth £100,000 a week, but he also stated Liverpool were "certainly not a club that is going to give way, way above what a player is worth at a certain time in their career."However, on 20 March, Rodgers said Sterling's contract situation would not be resolved until the summer at least. On 1 April, Sterling gave an unsanctioned interview with the BBC, where he confirmed he had turned down a new deal, but denied that this was for reasons of money. He had two years of a £35,000 per week contract remaining and said that he would not negotiate a new contract until the end of the season. Four days later, Brendan Rodgers criticised Sterling's advisors, particularly Aidy Ward, for the interview, saying: "You are not a 20-year-old boy and you pick up the phone and ask to speak to the BBC. You don't do it. Him in particular. But, of course, if he is asked to do that by other parties then that is what he'll do." On 21 May, amid rumours that Sterling intended to leave the club, his agent, Ward, gave an interview to the London Evening Standard saying: "I don't care about the PR of the club and the club situation... He is definitely not signing. He's not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week." On 11 June, Liverpool reportedly rejected an initial bid of £30 million from Manchester City. One week later, they reportedly rejected a second bid from City for £40 million, with Liverpool valuing Sterling at £50 million. Sterling reportedly later asked to be left out of Liverpool's preseason tour to Asia, and missed two days of training through illness, which was met with widespread criticism from former Liverpool players, including Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness. |

Loads of teams have won titles with plenty of games to spare but didn't end up conceding 40+ goals |
|
By:
Yeah they didn't concede 9 in their spare games either or go abroad on holiday before the last couple of games.
