Ref Sunderland - they could do a Ipswich, but having seen Boro play at Sunderland on Sky in September and compare that with playing at Ipswich last April, the Ipswich game was definitely tougher. For example Boro created more chances at Sunderland than Sunderland, but Ipswich created twice as many as us when we played there. Even though we lost 1-0 at Sunderland and drew 1-1 at Ipswich.
Looking at Sunderland and Leeds I would guess Leeds have much more strength in depth and that usually makes a difference as the season progresses. e Leeds reduced odds reflect to some extent the under performance of Burnley and Luton so far, but were expected to use their big parachute payment budgets to push Leeds hard. |

I backed Leeds at 4s pre-season (but cashed out), and they're in a worse position than I anticipated at this stage. I don't really get it. Surely no one backing them pre-season is buying evens? Unless you were expecting them to be 16th in the league right now.

Its early days yet in the long Championship season, still only two defeats in fourteen matches and with Ramazani and Gruev both due back later this month then things will only get better.
|
|
By:
love your optimism jinxy but im still laying them at those prices.
winning 7 out of 14 games to date is hardly inspiring and some of the teams around them must surely improve. but as you rightly say its a long season |
|
By:
We are missing Ramazani for sure but not confident Gruev gets much of a look in unless more injuries. We need a different kind of striker but we have so many forward options already. Move Bamford and Aaronson on next window and get a true centre forward in along with a playmaker.

Best team i've seen this season are Leeds and i can see why they are short ( not that i'd personally back them at odds on )...the division as a whole is of a poor standard - but exciting

they keep getting shorter 1.7 now

sheff utd win ..leeeds lose and they are still 1.89 and im still laying them

yes a good win. home to Boro on Tuesday will be fascinating

Leeds dominated Derby on Saturday and to me Leeds look a step above Burnley. For the title I would say its between Leeds and Sheff United both have big budgets, big squads and are well managed.
I don't think the standard has dropped in the Championship, its about the same as last year. Possibly what is happening is the Premier League standard is rising and so it appears the Championship standard is dropping. |

i agree analyst and im hoping sheff utd win it from a betting perspective. shame they had 2 points deducted

Leeds were very good again last night. They can lose 7 or 8 players through injuries etc and replace them with same quality, while 90% of Championship can't without reducing quality. Its the first league game this season that Boro have been clearly second best and significantly out scored on goal chances.
