It's for the bench boost on week 1
By:
Certainly need to stay on top of who is knocked out and returning to prem league.
By:
ok now I've read it properly, just skipped through, bench boost then wildcarding, it's an idea but It's also chasing early a bit, would rather save it for the double game weeks, then there's the International breaks up til November with players coming back injure. When AFCON starts before GW16, you're are topped up to the maximum of 5 free transfers.

Third draft - has lasted four days without change.
GK’s. Sanchez. Pickford. Devs. Chalobah. Mykolenko. Guardiol. Porto. Van de Ven. Mids. Rogers. Mbeumo. Son. Alvarez. Palmer. Fors. Watkins. Wissa. Bowen Capt. likely Palmer. Vice. Likely Mbeumo. No City other than Guardiol, who seems a Pepreg, until I see a few picked sides. With a view to bringing in mids. Def. No Haaland at present. No Pool for much the same reasons, may bring in Salah, most certainly preferred to Haaland, imv. No Arsenal for much the same reasons. Keen to bring in Rice after opening game. Like City so many mids. - who will play? Three Spurs - decent enough, cheap enough, see who the new man plays. Gambling on him hitting the ground running. Full budget blown! |
By:
Change. Mbeumo out, may need bedding in time. Fernandez in. + 1.0.
Wissa out, Raul in. -1.0. |
By:
I don't think son will be around much beyond far east tour.
I assume Porto is Porro. Can go son to Kudus... Saves 2 mill Upgrade Chalobah to cucarella costs 1 million Leaves a million to play with |
By:
I see Arias has been added as a midfielder at wolves
5.5 m,.... Yes please |
By:
Yes, mistype - Porro. Thanks about Son and all the other transfer info. I may have been well behind the news but I hadn’t realised the Mbeumo move had finally gone through. Can’t see Fernandez giving up the set piece role. Nice acquisition, good price.
I think I have joined the league - hopefully that’s o.k. |

I've got my team done again. (Fatties' Fledglings)
Just like most seasons, I feel confident. That will probably last for about three weeks when I'm near the bottom as usual. ![]() |
By:
2 weeks longer than most of us.
By:
We want to be getting more than 16 that we had last year....10 so far.
By:
Emailed them today with a request/query. They were right back to me with the answer. Impressive.

Gyökeres added in at 9 mil
Chargeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |

Not for me

yeah, top fpl players need only apply

I'm in the top 10% league I'll have you know

By:
How many Liverpool players have you got in your team, I've only got Isak at the moment.
By:
Frimpong for me. But dunno if he's a starter.
By:
None yet.
By:
Gykores at 9m must be in when starting
But big problem is knowing Wk 1 starters. Could be an early wildcard job if it goes t1ts up. |
By:
The picture I would have had in my head at what my team would roughly be before I actually did it is nowhere near what I've ended up with, I found it tough if I'm honest!!
By:
It's impossible, really tough, but that's the fun of it, I think.
Nobody will get anywhere near perfect, so enjoy. |
By:
Bruno f and Raya and palmer and cucarella and wan bassaka
are my 5 certainties at this point. If I've got them wrong I'm stuffed, and the rest is a waste. |
By:
g/l with it Duffy. It is so hard. Particularly with the bigger clubs who play squads not teams. Then there are the “knock - 50% chance of playing”.

Have decided to omit Salah and Haaland. Too hard to fill around them with quality at the reduced buying power. If I regret it so be it.
As usual constantly changing the squad. Midfield loaded with takers , assisters and scorers so I can only hope. Anyway, their omission allows me a couple of cheaper and interchangeable players. Namely Ward-Prowse at 6.0, interchangeable with Kudus 6.5 or any of three or four other big four midfielders, weekly if required. Also, up front, Raul 6.5 and Welbeck, same price, depending whether home or away. Not prolific so risky but affordable. Aston Villa’s goalie suspended until late August so, assuming Bizot plays for three weeks, and even if he doesn’t, at 4.5 he’s a decent squad-price reducer. I don’t feel goalies need transferred unless injured or suspended anyway so he will very much play second fiddle to Pickford. Trying to get a good bench who will all play at home in the same week to possibly bench boost. Apart from that I’m hoping like jell that none of my eleven team picks on opening day are omitted by their own managers. I don’t worry about imparting this info. to my opposition here as it is @nything but priceless insider knowledge. g/l. |

LH "Have decided to omit Salah and Haaland"
Yeah had been looking at that myself, so much flexability. Your comment re Villa keeper got me in to a rethink. It means I can get shot of Ederson and will have another £1m to use for upgrade and mix up a few things. Revised: BENCH BOOST = WEEK 1 Goalkeepers Allison Liverpool Bizet Aston Villa Defenders V V D Liverpool Chalobah Chelsea Van de Ven Spurs De Cuyper Brighton Aina Notts Forest Midfielders Palmer Chelsea VC Rogers Aston Villa Wirtz Liverpool Kudus Spurs ** Marmoush Man City ** **Or Son and Mitoma Forwards Watkins Aston Villa Pedro Chelsea Solanke Spurs C Still activating Wildcard week 1 - got to be aggressive I think - and W/C straight away. |

People must be mad going without either Salah or Haaland. Sure the more spare money makes team selection easier but at what cost?
By:
Goddess, me and you got the same mids and strikers atm
![]() |
By:
Actually I haven't got Wirtz or Kudus
By:
Are you going to take them both nobby?
Or have one, and change between them as necessary? |
By:
More to the point Nobby, will you do better than the Wife this season?

By:
I may well bring Salah in ( I did last season ) but probably not Haaland ( again like last season ). For one main reason. Salah is br@cketed as a midfielder so will point if they keep the goals out as well as for assists and goals. But I want to see how they are playing before spending big.
Negative? Possibly. Cautious? Certainly. |
By:
I spent far too long last season waiting for Haaland to start scoring and watching everyone else rack up points on Salah, put me too far back.
This year I've half learned my lesson, I haven't got either of them . |
By:
I'm tempted to start haaland, but
struggling to be happy with squad I end up with. Isak.. rather obvious replacement not really at start of season, at the mo. Gyökeres.. Easy to swap down to him if he makes a good start at arsenal and loads of cash to improve elsewhere. Having a few premiums makes transfers easier |
By:
Sry Aspro, have thought better of it and binned the Spurs contingent - two defo. and a midfielder. How can I justify two defo. who made

Pretty sure it's anyone on the forum.
I might need another few seasons to challenge the top half but I'm a tryer.. Does anyone know who finished top 3 last season? |
