On what we have seen so far if England score first say 1st 30 minutes they are going to defend and invite an equaliser, can't see them going 2 up, Dutch get that one back and on the front foot. Very few English chances as well against an albeit good defensive team in the Swiss.
I can't see it and the head saying an improving Dutch team. |
By:
roy doesnt like dutch defence on paper vvd, dumfries, akie, the other centre back as good as most, but vvd looks on the downgrade
By:
It was 4-1 in 1996 wasn't it
England had to let Holland get one back to knock Scotland out |
By:
As much as I do love a 0-0, @ 7.60 that is too skinny for me.
By:
Tempted on 0-0 myself

Seems crazy that Euro 96 was nearer to the 1970 World Cup than it was to tonight.
By:

nice of them to play english national anthem twice, might be a good omen
By:
I hope we win despite my positions which are better if the Dutch go through!
By:
So, the Holland fans are wearing orange? Hold the front page!
I wish the comms would dial back on stating the obvious. |
By:
Time to stick it to Koeman as repayment for his rugby tackle in 1992 for which he only got booked, then went on to score and cost Graham Taylor his job.
By:
Good luck lads, had a tiny bet on England to win.
Comon England !! |
By:
Here we go. I hope it's not a boring game.
By:
Mr Pond- if the comms didn't state the obvious or comment on what we can all see, there'd be no commentary & they'd be out of a very cushy number!
By:
The picture does not seem to be as sharp as on BBC or on sunday.
By:
Bad weather
By:
The broadcasters don't like dead air and that's why the comms arenlt allowed to just let the match unfold amd chip when were pertinent.
By:
Betting wise I'd like a 1st half draw.
By:
Shame Richie Benaud is not around to commentate tonight. He knew when NOT to say anything. You might get the occasional "SHOT!". Bless him.
By:
A different age Bonnie.
By:
Mr Diggler I understand about dead air, but the comms should credit the viewer with just a little intelligence.
By:
England passes looking good

In the 70s and 80s you could watch a Test Match and think yourself there, now the endless graphics and waffle every 2 seconds remind you that you're not thus breaking any immersion

Good strike to be fair
