It seems like many here don't actually know what happened, and think he was found not guilty at trial.

He appeared in court before a judge on more than one occasion. He was initially even remanded in custody after being charged.

When: 19 Aug 23 20:16
Yes, but no final trial for conviction after witness stopped playing ball.
By:

But what about the video? If it’s so conclusive or apparent what happened why would the CPS need any other witnesses?

In simplistic terms, I wouldn't be allowing him anywhere near the first team squad ever again either.

But, I think United have, on the face of it at least, handled it awfully. There's been no public contrition, attempts at rehabilitation or education, at attempts to work with domestic violence charities. Zero community based work. The difference to the way they've handled this scenario and Cantona's are worlds apart.

I don't care what one supposed celebrity fan thinks, though as pointed out correctly above, it'll be a different matters if sponsors or corporate partners abandon them. Which comes back round to their lack of PR, and this supposed appalling dossier that's been partly leaked.

Then obviously you've got a young family who are without (at least one of) their chosen careers. I hope his partner has been involved by the club in all this, but given their (public) mismanagement I'm not so sure.

It's a shocking situation, but I don't think anyone is coming out of it looking that good at all.

The original audio sounded like a stitch up and in no way proved domestic abuse.

But zilch in the way of rebuttals.
How odd?

You mean no public rebuttals for the court of public opinion. Not very odd.

Let’s all pretend we are grown up here.

As I understand it they now have a kid and are planning to get married.

He’s hardly going to send his PR man out to say whilst I’m innocent until proven guilty for the benefit of some blokes on social media I strongly rebut these allegations and my future wife and mother to be is a lying skank.

He would probably have been forgiven & welcomed back into the fold a few years ago but the world is a much different place now.

People are far more aware of abusive & coercive relationships these days & general violence against women & girls.

About 3 women every week are killed by their partners or ex-partners.

It is not worth ManU's reputation, imo, in any way condoning this kind of behaviour.

If you need to blame anyone, blame Greenwood.

If he wants a career in public, and in this case very public, then he needs the consent of the public.

He's not Joe Bloggs from down the street who is innocent until proven guilty.

Absolutely this. But playing devil's advocate again for a moment, if Mason Greenwood's career is allowed to flounder now, is there not a bigger problem being allowed to brew if the person he may blame is living with him with his child? As I say, United have handled this awfully. I just hope someone is doing something far better behind the scenes and Greenwood and his partner are getting some help/support or whatever.

I’m sure things will work out just  fine. I

f he can’t get work as a footballer I’m sure he’ll end working in KFC for a few months and at least after that be supported on the brew. If his wife and daughter end up in squalor that’s fine as long as the puritans can tell everyone he’s not with my club/being watched by 70,000 people//on I’m a Celebrity.

There has been talk of ManU just paying up the rest of his contract to get rid.

I they do, that's probably about £8m (£75k per week until 2025).

More than what 99% of folks see in a lifetime. And of course his been on full pay for the last 18 months as well.

He's then someone's else's problem - if they want the aggravation.

Saudi's his best option.

Regarding the situation with his partner, it's hard to know whether that whole situation is real tbh. Marriage of convenience for £££? Who knows.

Shrewd
, 99% of people would love to be £12m behind Greenwood. If he ends up in squalor, that'll down to him.

So having more money that the general public money makes Greenwood alright in the face of such concerted attacks from z list celebrities who delight in ignoring the legal outcome and whipping up public furore?
Strange notion.

Lifter -- it is not just that key witnesses stopped playing ball, the CPS also said new evidence has come to light.

The CPS did not name the key witness but of course it could only be one person. More frustratingly, they've not said what this new evidence is.

Probably best for all concerned that Greenwood is sold to a foreign club where he can continue his career and will not be faced with opposition crowds reminding him of these allegations each week, and best of all, Rachel Riley can carry on supporting MUFC.

Man utd have played it poorly if they lose this lad who has
great potential.

Send him on loan, let him bang in 30 goals then
Riley will be crying to get him back.

Will she make a stand for Anthony's partner?
By:

Rachel Riley was just being stupid and there is far more important aspects to this matter than her.

When: 20 Aug 23 13:39
Sadly, sparrow, she's a spokeswoman of the day.

Manchester United really should have dealt with this.

It's a difficult situation but he has in effect served
over a year ban, and not many other players would
have done so.

He was a silly lad, but if he's moved on then
They really should be supporting him, even if its
in last chance saloon. They appear to be supporting Antony
so it's quite bizarre.

ManU have handled this terribly.
They should've known all the negativity surrounding MG's potential return.
Now they look as if their hand has been forced.
