That's the hardest game out the way.  Spain had 66% possession against Germany, 56% against England.  England will now dominate possession, have the cutting edge, a fully fit squad, the strongest squad and the biggest rest period between games.  The hardest game is prolly France imo, but they have a history of fooking up and have lost their main goal threat.  Like Spain they miss that cutting edge in front of goal.

Kwakiutl win for England against a very good side missing their play maker sand top scorer and inexplicably not playing the goal scoring centre forward from the off!

England dug really deep to win. I thought the Keira bird was fantastically creative on the ball. Kelly Bright was a rock at the back but others grabbed the headlines.

Lucy Bronze despite what they say did not have a great game she is though proper World class imho. The winner was great but Spain bossed large periods of the game and missed their 2 best players.

England have enough to go all the way. I expect to meet The Hun in the Final and it may well go to penalties. France have some fantastically athletic players but I expect the Germans to manage them.

Great for the womens game. Great for young lads. Many girls will play football and not become fatties by the time they are 18.

The Spanish are living in the past, they still seem to think that it's the winning formula for success based on the men game 08-12 dominating with the men's national team and Barcelona, even Pep is the same can do it outspending everyone in England but fails in Europe every single season, they need to move on with the times.

Their World Class play maker and their  top goal scorer were missing and the sub centre forward should have started. They really are a kwality side lacking a cutting edge in this tournament.

I thought both teams were excellent night

I hope Southgate was watching last night. He'd certainly learn a lot from Sarina Wiegman.

I might be in the minority, but I didn't think it was a great performance by England. They dug in and got the win, but they got lucky. If Spain had a half decent goalkeeper the 2nd goal would never have found the net. Despite the hype from the pundits it was not a "great goal arrowed in to the corner", It was a hard shot almost in the middle of the goal. And the keeper was useless, as she was against Germany when she gave away an even worse goal.
A great comeback, but if they play like that again, they might not be so lucky.

Good to see women's football pay tribute to uwe seeler

Any chance of a back headed goal?

great player was seeler, first man to score in 4 World cups
never won a world cup... Largely due to the brilliance
of Brazil and, err, Geoff Hurst.

I'm forcing myself to watch this. Tried the England game last night but only made it to HT and the final few minutes and this one is probably worse, but fair play to Germany there, that was a nicely worked goal.

Austria very much under rated, but, maybe lack
the confidence as a team to build on their ability.

yea, they don't seem to know that if you lean back on contact, it's going over the bar. Basic stuff, but Sweden are going out next round, I think.

Sweden are a one-player team, not much better than Norway or Denmark. The pundits who had them as "one of the favourites", need their heads looked at.

England are 5/6 to beat Sweden in normal time on Tuesday. I thought they might be 4/7 or less. The only worry could be England could be knackered after the tussle with Spain last week.

Sweden look a good passing team who will give England problems, and don't lack physicality when needed, be an interesting game, go either way

Good price for France against Holland. A lot has been made about Miedema being back. but we've seen with Norway and Denmark, having one "world class" striker is not enough.

Yeah that France price looks a gift. Suspicious
By:

I think it's because of the top striker being out, and also the Dutch keeper has been very good.
