We haven't got the creativity to break down Sweden, even with this spain being a shadow of its former self to withstand their intense probing for 90 minutes takes some doing.

interesting to hear Kane getting a bit of a kicking from the pundits but when you have so little quality of ball to him, not quite sure where he's going to effect the game...he's at his best playing as an old school striker, we didn't offer any quality to him at all.

We've got to remember that Southgate was appointed as a safe pair of hands in the controversy avoiding department, nothing to to with whether he had the qualifications for the job.
He's not alone, Solsjkaer and Martinez are two more bluffers undeserving of their current jobs. |

Sorry but Philips, Mount & Rice in the middle.. Shaw and James not allowed to overlap.
James put one cross into the box!! Shaw broke the line twice and that is when England looked most dangerous, that was it!! Italy, France, Portugal, Holland and Germany have all moved the ball forward through the middle quickly with running the channels etc and turning the opponent. Mount & Philips was all huff and puff, Rice static. The front 3 all with their backs to goal, because not one of the midfielders played forward, it was easy to defend!! You only need one of Philips and Rice, Drop Mount into the middle and get him playing forward or bring Henderson into the middle. Tripper and Chilwell should be the fullbacks Can see England going to 3 at the back with Walker, Stones and Maguire soon. Then you will only need Philips or Rice in the middle with Sancho, Kane, Foden and Grealish/mount going forward from the middle!! that tonight was the wrong setup, personnel and delivery and all he has done has heaped pressure and negative feeling |
