If that was a no nonsense ref he would have sent off Isco for clearing out the Atalanta right back and given a pen when Ilicic got up ended in the box.
Refs favour the big teams.
All the time in Europe.

The exact same incident as Atalantas Freuler red card occurred in the spurs game.
Dier collided with chekhou Dieng bringing him down just outside the box.
Ref waved play on and spurs went up and scored a second.
Thats just the way it is, just refs covering their backs helping the big clubs.

Real, like spurs at the moment are playing sh!te.
When they play city or bayern they are going down.
No amount of refs help is going to save them.
fluck em..

Talking about MADE decisions in favour of "bigger teams" is completely different story. Although it's usually cited and generally believed to be the case by many that "bigger teams" do in fact get "benefitted" across all decisions, until some sort of comprehensive study is done to confirm such a notion, we'll never truly know how much weight it holds, or whether 'confirmation bias' is simply doing good job again.. Bearing in mind the "bigger teams" generally carry a greater number of opportunities to benefit from specific decisions(red cards, pens etc..)

From the reports I've read on such a "big team bias" the averages were 'close to normal' meaning at least IF any bias does exist, it's not nearly as obvious as many spout it to be.

Ultimately, any dubious decision made by refs is for them and the association they rep to moralize over. As observers we can only ever wish for fair, competent ref for any given match. As far as this Atalanta-Real match goes.. many biased, bitter and foolish fans will naturally create "comparison incidents"(that are as closely connected as the earth and mars) while dreaming up MYTHICAL pens,, but this won't change the fact that any sane, rational, unbiased mind will have a clear understanding that it has absolutely nothing to complain about in this match/instance.

Thats all very well to cite 'comprehensive studies' about 'confirmation bias'.
What are these studies?
Who funded them?
Did they sit thru thousands of hours of european football judging every single refereeing decision?
And how do they decide which ref decisions are correct and which are not?
If all this mess with VAR has shown anything it is that refereeing decisions are entirely subjective.
One mans penalty is another mans yellow card for simulation.

You are right. Ccomplaining about all this is an utter waste of time.
I dont know why i am bothering to be honest.
The UCL is a rancid tournament run for the benefit of clubs like Madrid who are constantly threatening UEFA with a Super League.
So when they get refereeing decisions in their favour its a surprise to no one.

One can only hope that people see thru this mirage. But as with much in this life, bullsh1t baffles brains

One can only hope that people see thru this mirage. But as with much in this life, bullsh1t baffles brains,so true in this age of the "pandemic",constant bullshit from this dreadful government, who now deny they have broken the ministerial code yet pillorise our FM.
The duplicity will create a torrent of SNP votes I hope.
Salmond gives his much awaited submission to this quasy comittee tomorrow, will be front page news in the dead tree press no doubt.
I predict
"Salmond calls for resignations"
"Is Salmond a groper?" (daily ****)
"Who gives a F***k"  (most of the scottish people)
