Today is obviously a big match for us but I would have preferred it after a few more games to have allowed time to settle into a new regime.

Villa winning, Southampton leading, Watford leading. Not sure if we can afford a settling in period Sparrow!

Can’t get carried with the result playing such injury riddled opponents, but an important ‘must’ win all the same and, at the very least, should restore a bit of confidence. Looked like they did a lot more running as well.
Early stages, obviously, but it seems quite clear that Moyes is the Messiah!! |
|
By:
Moysie and West Am a match made in heaven.
|
|
By:
Under 12s would gave this mob a bashing first half
Terrible knew there was injuries but jeez there bolloxed Need about 5 or 6 players not going risk 100m in window |
|
By:
Must win
Norwich blew a lead again |
|
By:
Always easier playing sides who want to play it out from the back all the time. Time and again they gave the ball away in their own half but they know no other way of playing. As for injuries we all get them and it's just the billionaire clubs that have such talented squads that get away with that. All in all a pleasing result but the time to judge will be at the end of the season remembering of course that we started in the relegation places again.
|
|
By:
only Bournemouth but in a must
win game they did well to win 4-0, could've been more, normally teams win these games 1-0,2-1. |
|
By:
Bournemouth look in real trouble. Poor recruitment for their style of play. Harry Wilson on loan for example is one who can score some beats and is good in a direct team but a passing magnet he isn't.
Moyes will fail at some point though, but will probably keep yous up |

Moyes big boot up football
![]() |
|
By:
An improvement on the past 2 seasons when we were knocked out by League 1 opposition both times. Had to battle here so no need for the backwards sideways nonsense. First half performance was awful and some of these players need sorting out by Moyes.
|
|
By:
Super Slav coming back he get better cheer
Than moyes |
|
By:
Yes we will all cheer Slav who left us in the relegation places rather than Moyes who rescued us.
![]() West Ham have agreed a deal to sign Darren Randolph from Middlesbrough for £4m and the transfer is expected to proceed smoothly with the goalkeeper keen to rejoin the Premier League club. Randolph spent two seasons at West Ham before moving to Middlesbrough for £5m in 2017 and is wanted as experienced cover for Lukasz Fabianski. He would not be immediately available, though, because he is around 10 days from being fit to return from a thigh injury. The 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who had 18 months remaining on his contract, had been Middlesbrough’s first-choice goalkeeper until he sustained the injury in late November. Randolph was targeted by West Ham after the club lost faith in Roberto, who is available for transfer after a series of error-strewn performances. David Martin, who came into the team in late November, is injured and is regarded ideally as a third-choice goalkeeper. West Ham are due to hold further talks on Tuesday with Benfica over the possible signing of Gedson Fernandes. The 20-year-old midfielder is also wanted by a number of other clubs, including in the Premier League. West Ham are proposing an 18-month loan with an option to buy. |

Don’t get it

By:
And it’s ok we have boot it long moyes back in charge
Like back tracking when ok with them |
|
By:
The official rule on PL site states that handball is NOT given if it ‘touches a player’s arm from another player that is nearby’
Other than that westham had no speed Same old same old from most Long ball |
|
By:
Pleased you came on fattie. In the first half there were 2 clear cut chances missed by Anderson and Haller from direct play long balls. In the second half we gave away a goal by the goalkeeper trying to playing it out from the back instead of clearing the ball upfield. I can't begin to speak about the disallowed goal.
|
|
By:
Sparrow you will get your wish Soon Fellaini fly in from China
King of long ball game Another speed less boat |
|
By:
No need for speed fattie in your game with players just passing the ball backwards and sideways.
|

This farcical rule will be revoked in the Summer I would think.
As for the other farce last night...no trains home. South Yorkshire Plod gave warnings to West Ham fans in the build up to the game. Likelihood of trouble in the city centre etc. So why play it on a friday night with no trains? Everyone arranged their travel. Then 4 days before the game, West Ham lay on coaches. Too little too late. Typical. Many stayed overnight in Sheffield. Sure enough it kicked off. SU mobbed up and at least one Hammer was glassed and hospitalised. SYP panicked as you would expect as WH refused to back down. Ugly scenes.. (Didn't go, heard this from those who did). |

West Ham United have signed Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph from Championship side Middlesbrough for a fee of about £4m.
Randolph made 42 appearances for the Hammers between 2015 and 2017, before moving to Boro in a £5m deal. The 32-year-old rejoins the London Stadium side on a three-and-a-half-year contract. "I had no hesitation in coming back," Randolph said. "This opportunity was simply too good to turn down." |
