How light is our bench? Wilshire, Fornals, Ajeti, Balbuena none of them fill me with confidence.
First time I saw Fornals play I had this dreaded pit in my guts. Nabil fekir a similar player with a similar price tag who was strongly linked with Liverpool ends up at Betis(who don't even have European football) and we get Fornals. Gutted. Our best players Anderson and lanzini aren't giving 100% IMO. I can't work out lanzini. Is it because he's got his improved contract? Or maybe Pellegrini tactics aren't getting the best out of him. |

Typical West Ham we score a brilliant goal stringing 20/30 passes together but still lose.
I like Frederick he is improving IMO. I thought he was just an athlete but there's more to his game |

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski on Saturday underwent surgery on his hip injury as his rehabilitation continues.
Fabianski pulled up after taking a goal kick during the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth at the end of September and, Standard Sport understands, has been ruled out for three months. Hammers co-owner David Gold tweeted on Saturday morning: "Just to update you all, the surgery on Lukasz Fabianski’s hip went as planned this morning in London. "He will hopefully be discharged later today. Speedy recovery Lukasz." Veteran Spanish back-up Roberto, who arrived during the summer, is Fabianski's stand-in until 2020 and made his Premier League debut in the 2-1 home loss to Crystal Palace before the international break. |

To make Everton look like title contenders takes some doing, but we managed something close to that today. No creativity, no passion and so little fight..
Fornals continues to look like one of the worst signings the club have ever made... Don’t rule out bottom 3 by the turn of the year.. |
|
By:
Goalie just not Premier league is he?
.... I'm a backer for top 10 though, price should be nice and ripe about now... ![]() |

Absolutely awful performance which will again be excused I expect. I haven't got over that 4-0 loss to Oxford yet which was swept under the table by fans who would have crucified Allardyce and Moyes had they been in charge. As for Fornals whoever was responsible for that signing should be sacked on the spot. Nothing more to say at this stage.

I’m absolutely amazed that there are still people out there that believe that this is potentially a top 6 side..
In my opinion they’re just too soft and performances like the one today occur just FAR to often.. |
|
By:
Who said top 6 ffs
I haven’t We haven’t played well all season Will continue intill we get some pace into the team Same players not putting enough effort Same players that are too slow |

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini: "I am disappointed because I think we had a good performance. The position of Everton showed how much they needed the points. I remember the last game we played here the teams were in a similar position.
"Today they just gave more than we did, they gave more than 100%, we did not. I spoke with the players after the game, they know my thoughts. Goodison Park is always a difficult place to come but I was not completely happy with the performance. "Good performance" he says, which just shows what we are up against. |

Fattie - please be re-assured that my comment about “people out there” wasn’t a reference to your good self or anyone else on this forum.
It was in relation to a lot of comments I’ve heard from a number of pundits, and comments that I’ve seen on social media over the past few months.. |

Another poor show today with numerous chances missed and a goal coming from a long clearance from our goalkeeper. We look little better than a championship side at the moment let alone top 6 or top half. Rice and Snodgrass did well but saw little else from the others.
|
|
By:
Piss poor again
Getting fed up with saying it Each and every week We should be beating teams like Sheffield Utd at home Way the world is mangers come and go He ain’t got long Imo Terrible for money he’s had |

Well would you believe it...............
![]() Andy Carroll’s return to his former club West Ham is in doubt because of his latest injury. The Newcastle United striker missed the 1-1 draw with Wolves at the weekend with a groin problem and faces a battle to be fit to face West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday. Carroll, who was plagued by injuries at West Ham, had been nearing full fitness following ankle surgery in March but hurt his groin at Chelsea this month and is unsure if he will be ready for a reunion with his former team-mates. |

We will have dog fight
If something doesn’t change Where 0-2 down at home Should be 0-4 |
|
By:
And the relentless charge to the bottom 3 shows no sign of stopping..I thought that it was possible that we could be there by the end of the year, but at this rate we might make it by mid December..
Time for Pellegrini to go? |
|
By:
Tells you Antonio and fab are massive at westham
Fallen apart with out them How long do you let it go on for He’s got two games imo turn it around or he’s toast |
|
By:
2 lightning quick players for Newcastle and he leaves Fred out and plays Zabaleta.
The man's a fraud. Only Snoddy gives a damn. Huddersfield won (again). Just saying..... |
|
By:
Never mind give Pellegrini another 200 million to fritter away!
I have never seen such a shocking display as in that first half perhaps we could ask Moyes to come back and rescue us again. Absolutely clueless defending. |
|
By:
sparrow - I would have given Moyes a contract in a heartbeat. He has a work ethic. This bloke is a pipe and slippers manager.
The team resembles his personality. |
|
By:
Injera.....you may remember that I was very unhappy that Moyes was not backed by the fans or the board after doing an excellent job by getting from the relegation places to mid-table and not being given the money to further improve the side. We need to understand that we will never win anything without a decent defence and apart from the FA Cup that's been the case since I first ever watched West Ham.
|
|
By:
Agreed. Sam's football was dire but he made us bloody minded and tough. Now we're same old West Ham. Flakey and soft. Always gifting goals and points to teams who need a win.
I don't want Sam back but I'd have Moyes, Cowley, Howe or Wilder in a heartbeat. Following the Cowleys, I think we may be witnessing something a bit special with those 2. |
|
By:
I liked both Moyes and Sam but most West Ham fans felt the opposite.
Probably because I loathe possession football and prefer a more direct style which in my viewed was proved when Leicester won the premiership by 10 points and had the 2nd worst possession in the league. It can be done with the amount of money Pellegrini has had at his disposal but people need to be patient and get behind the right sort of manager. This "West Ham Way" thinking needs to be got rid of as it has amounted to nothing in all the years I have supported the club. I simply make the point that in the 60s with all those great players we never finished higher than 8th because Greenwood was hopeless when it came to defence as Bobby Moore was later to say in his book. |

Pellegrini’s post match interviews are sadly becoming to sound like a broken record.
The Oxford performance was “unacceptable”, as was the one at Everton, as was the one yesterday. Anyone else seeing a pattern? Every performance is unacceptable until the next one comes along.. Nothing seems to be changing and it looks to this outsider that he doesn’t appear, at the moment, to be capable of turning things around. Totally agree with other contributors in relation to Moyes. He appeared to improve fitness levels, instil discipline and steel to the side (the latter which is SO lacking in the current team) and imo deserved to be given the job on a more permanent basis. This side seems to have such a soft underbelly and appear to be in a rut where not winning is now becoming the norm. What really worries me is that, unlike previous years, we’ve had (Man City at home apart) a relatively kind set of fixtures thus far. With games against Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolves and Leicester all coming up in the next few weeks I’m struggling to see where the points are going to come from.. |
|
By:
Pellegrini got to go imo
Fed up with dinosaurs fat boring sam moyes was out dated Pelle too Want some young forward thinking manger **** it Give cowleys a chance Go down if don’t change let’s have fresh apoach |

Michail Antonio is ready to hand West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini a timely boost by returning to training following his hamstring injury.
Antonio was expected to be out for four months when he injured his hamstring at Newport on August 27. But the winger has made a speedy recovery and West Ham expect him to be fit to face Tottenham after the upcoming international break. The 29-year-old has been training with West Ham’s Under-23s but he is due to join back up with the first-team squad. Antonio’s return is a timely boost for Pellegrini, who has come under pressure after five games without a win. West Ham have dropped to 13th in the Premier League and Pellegrini has faced criticism over his team selection and tactics. Fans turned on Pellegrini during Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Newcastle but West Ham are confident the Chilean, who is in the second of a three-year contract, will turn things around. And the return of Antonio, who has made a remarkable recovery, will add some much-needed pace and forward threat to a struggling West Ham side. Antonio was in good form at the start of the season before his injury and Pellegrini will hope his return to fitness can give the Hammers a lift. |

Jacob Steinberg from The Guardian.
West Ham director of football Mario Husillos’s future in doubt amid slump • Club unhappy with Argentinian’s summer transfer work • Husillos is a close ally of manager Manuel Pellegrini West Ham’s alarm at their recent slump has raised doubts over the future of Mario Husillos, the club’s director of football and one of Manuel Pellegrini’s closest allies. Pellegrini is in no danger of being sacked, with West Ham determined to back their manager despite sliding into 13th after picking up two points from their past five games, but questions are being asked about Husillos’s role. There is unhappiness with the Argentinian’s work in the transfer market last summer and he faces a fight to retain ultimate responsibility for identifying signings in January. After that, the club may look to review Husillos’s position. West Ham, who performed shambolically during the 3-2 home defeat by Newcastle last Saturday, broke their transfer record when they signed Sébastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt and they expect the £45m striker to come good despite struggling in front of goal recently. Yet eyebrows have been raised at two of Husillos’s picks. Pablo Fornals, a £24m signing from Villarreal, is yet to make an impact and the Spanish goalkeeper Roberto Jiménez has failed to impress while deputising for Lukasz Fabianski, who could be out until the new year with a hip injury. Fornals is adjusting to the pace of English football but it is debatable whether West Ham, who visit Burnley on Saturday, needed to sign the 23-year-old Spaniard. Pellegrini wanted a commanding central midfielder at the start of the summer and West Ham pushed hard to sign André Gomes from Barcelona. Gomes joined Everton instead. The messaging changed after West Ham missed out on the Portugal midfielder. They switched the emphasis to attack and pushed through the signing of Fornals, a creative midfielder, even though they had Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini, Robert Snodgrass and Andriy Yarmolenko in those positions. Fornals has started four league games and a lack of robustness in central midfield has remained an issue. West Ham did not replace Pedro Obiang or Edimilson Fernandes after selling them to Sassuolo and Mainz respectively and there is little depth behind Declan Rice and Mark Noble. Carlos Sánchez, the 33-year-old Colombian midfielder, has no future at the club and Jack Wilshere, who has 18 months left on a contract worth close to £100,000 a week, is rarely fit. It has not helped that Fabianski has been out since going off injured against Bournemouth on 28 September. Fabianski’s previous No 2, Adrián, joined Liverpool on a free last summer and Roberto has been a disaster. The 33-year-old did not play a league game for Espanyol last season but he played 34 times when Málaga were relegated from La Liga in 2018. Husillos left Málaga at the end of that season and joined West Ham on Pellegrini’s recommendation. The London Stadium club’s board had wanted to make Eduardo Macià their director of football but went with their new manager’s choice instead. Husillos has struggled to convince West Ham of his worth and the signing of Roberto has heightened doubts over his judgment. There were misgivings about Roberto when West Ham lost 4-0 to Oxford United in the Carabao Cup in September and he has performed poorly since stepping in for Fabianski, making costly errors in defeats by Everton and Newcastle. The slump has hit West Ham’s hopes of breaking into the top six but they have faith in Pellegrini, whose £7m-a-year contract runs out in the summer of 2021. At the same time there are concerns over the former Manchester City manager’s tactics and team selections. Pablo Zabaleta, the 34-year-old right-back, was repeatedly exposed against Newcastle and there is irritation at the failure to get the best out of Haller, who has scored once in his past eight games. West Ham have a tough run after the international break, with home games against Arsenal and Tottenham and trips to Chelsea and Wolves set to test their faith in Pellegrini. They will make decisions next month on whether they need to spend in January. Uncertainty over Conor Coventry’s future poses another problem for West Ham. The 19-year-old midfielder’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he is unhappy with the terms on offer. The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is attracting interest from several clubs and could leave in January. |

And west ham pushed hard to sign Andre gomes. Don't make me laugh. We put in a low offer knowing full well they wouldn't accept it as per usual.
If husillos is sacked who takes his place? Sullivan? Fab was an ever present last season I think. So they let Adrian go and brought in 2 cheap keepers thinking that they would not be needed. They even bragged about how cheap they were. When fab got injured a serious club would've bought in a new keeper. Pellegrini and his team aren't doing a good job but what about the owners? It's all smoke and mirrors with that lot. I'm convinced that as long as they are there West Ham won't enjoy any success. |
|
By:
As for Conor Coventry the lad wants 5k a week so I'm led to believe. Not unreasonable for a teenager knocking on the 1st team. The owners are citing the example of Reece Oxford as to why they are reluctant to give him this. Are you facing kidding me? Oxford was on 20k a week at 17 so the cases aren't similar at all IMO.

We’re turning into a laughing stock now with a goalkeeper who is a complete joke and a side lacking in any passion or fight..
To take just 1pt from games against Everton, Palace, Sheffield Utd, Newcastle and Burnley is truly shocking. At close of play today we’ll be 5th from bottom, whereas just 6 weeks ago we were 5th from the top. In complete freefall... |
