really poor 2nd half.

Even a 2-1 win would'e been poor, but a draw, and losing an away goal, its tie over for me

Greeks heavy heavy favs now,

I thought this was easytime for celtic...

The bbc seems to think so...

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45083904

Celtic could face Malmo or MOL Vidi in play-off round

At least they gave Vidi some due respect.

Pathetic goings on at a huge traditionally massive club.
Edouard in for Armstrong and Sviatchenko.
ZERO NET SPEND AGAIN....
Taking the paying fan for an utter ****g mug. Gladwell and his shareholding bonus collecting cronies.
Been going on for years now, make the CL but don't compete, bank the profit, promise they'll spend it next year yet don't,an absolute pisstake.

John Mcginn gone to Villa,Celtic been on that for 3 months, totally pathetic, perfect for replacing Brown, 3m poxy quid and won't pay it. Got oodles sat in bank.

Only incoming another loan deal for youngster. Arzani. Deary me.
Honestly think if go out it will be hugely deserved and if get real fright in league that will be deserved too.

Best of an obviously poor bunch for years, have not progressed at all. And yet double treble winners.what a joke.
Let's make CL,let's not give a **** about competing let's just get there.
Let's just do enough to beat the dirge across the road.
Well those have spent quite well and closing on 10 million, plus some pretty good loans, imo Celtic a couple of injuries away from not only a CL exit but a real fright in SPL.
And will only have themselves and there penny pinching arrogance to blame.

Was at game. Should have been two or three up first half having played some good stuff. Second half poor. Lacked flair and imagination. Athens put under no pressure. Couldn't create against decent defence. Very disappointing to say the least.

Still it's not over until the fat lady sings, although it will need a vastly improved performance in Athens.

Can't argue with Jedi's comments above. Spot on.

A painful write Mac.
But from the heart and truthful.
Celtic taking liberties with the paying fan,AGAIN.
And may this time get nipped....

Yes mate, very painful. Bad enough as a supporter, much worse having done my blocks betting them too. They could have played all night and never have scored a winner. And Athens are no great shakes.

Yes, taking the support for mugs. They should have bought a couple of quality players. No outstanding player in the squad. Eduardo is young and will prove a bargain buy, same with Dembele but they will cash in on both first opportunity. Same with Tierney.

Agreed.
The John Mcginn deal really really grates on me though and proves Lawwell not a ****g clue about football.
Natural successor to Broony, get 5,6 years minimum from the lad and sell if need be for profit, haggling over buttons.
Been on the deal 4months,Villa 4 days, done deal.
Think he is a top top player of the future and spewing missed out.

Some fair comments there, Jedi. Its not gone unnoticed that the club hasn't really spent very much of the money they've earned from the CL last few seasons.
They have been taking a risk and so far got away with it, but not tonight. The fat Greek lady has sung imo.

The only consolation for me is having that insurance bet on the Greeks qualifying. I did think 13/8 was much too big for a coin toss.

It will be difficult plat, for sure, but it's far from over. Bigger comebacks in football every week. Your glass seems half empty mate Wink

Themightymac, earlier in the thread we debated Celtic's chances v AEK and you pretty much wrote them off and said Celtic would be strong 2/5 favs to qualify, with AEK being 7/4.I said I'd be all over 7/4 but didn't think we'd see that price.Well, Slybet are a standout 13/8 on AEK to qualify, so well done you were very close to the mark with your odds.Looks really big to me, and I'm all over it. 13/8 AEK Athens to qualify

"As for tonight's match over 90 mins, I've lumped on the draw at 3.9 on here, with a view to a trade in-play.
That looks very big for what I expect to be a low scoring game."

To be serious, good tipping there, Plat.  I hope you held your nerve for the draw last night.

AEK 5/8 now to qualify.

By:
Platini
When: 09 Aug 18 10:12
I greened on the draw before KO, Trilby so only a small win there.

But I lumped on the 13/8 to qualify expecting I'd be able to lay some back either in-play or after the 1st leg.  But that new price is all wrong, so I won't be laying back until the market corrects itself. For anyone that hasn't had a bet yet, that 5/8 is huge. If I wasn't on already, I'd be hammering that.

I get the impression Hibs would have sold him to any other club, and that was the problem rather than on the Celtic side. I wonder was Chambers from Arsenal ever considered? Lustic is shown up every game in Europe and needs to be replaced.

Might have been a good fit for the Geordies, but they've used up their quota for loan players.
