I think Uncle just doesn't mind saying it how it is even if it is criticism of his own team, it makes for a balanced thread, criticism when needed, praise when it's called for, perhaps it's a little lopsided on here sometimes, it's has quietened down from some posters this season compared to last and pre season to be fair.Plain

Laugh duffy he isnt criticising Man Utd hes criticising Liverpool

He was outed as a man Utd fan (I think thats the correct word to use in exposing something someones ashamed of) a few years back on a horse racing thread. He even promised not to post on here again if one of Olly Murphys horses finished in the top 3 in a race at Cheltenham , Guess what cos hes such a p5ss poor tipster the horse finished in the top 3 Laugh You couldnt make it up. CCM was around at the time

But he still posts on  here despite promising not to (what do you call that) and we have to put up with his boring charade

I just find it all a bit sad

I'm confused,(not difficult), he's not a United fan though, anyway, whatever, I was just pleasantly surprised to see a bit of criticism when it's called for, next step would be, if Uncle isn't one, for it to actually come from a Liverpool fan.Wink

There's been plenty of criticism on here. Including some of the signings (or non-signings in the summer) and then through the season. Uncle is just a manc who tries to stir the pot. We've all known it for years.

Me a Manc LaughLaughLaughLaughCrazyCrazyCrazy
Happy to take on anyone in a quiz about history of Liverpool - There used to be an LFC channel on when I had SKY (around 2007?)  and they used to have a sort of Mastermind type game on there and always beat the so called mega fans.
I know Rothko hates me but disappointed that a good level headed poster like Porcupine has fallen into the Manc nonsense.

Anyway, another pretty typical performance today - some shocking defending for their goals and despite loads of possession no goals or real chances from open play. Throw in another injury to Jo Gomez and giving away an injury time winner from a set piece and it’s definitely a case of ‘s old, same old’.

Salah coming back is the worst thing that could have happened.

Just got to hope that Arsenal beat Man Utd tomorrow and maybe a draw between Newcastle and Villa.

newcastle are a much bigger threat to our 4th place hopes, so i want villa to win as we are unlikely to catch them anyway.

I feel for Ekitike, he was the fall guy for Isak needing to be crowbarred into the side even though he had started the season well, today he was the fall guy in order to make way for the player manager to assume his rightful place back in the side, of course it was dressed up in giving Ekitike a rest but we all know the real reason.

It is staggering how Salah was allowed to pull on that precious jersey once again, and that's coming from a United fan, it is equally as sad that many Liverpool fans who had become disillusioned with the manager were happy to side with Salah's attempted coup, this issue was far more important than winning football matches and a trophy or two, Salah trampled on the club.

What happens if/when the manager wants to drop Salah again?

its seems every other team in the league recognised how the PL was going in terms of physicality apart from us Apart from Ekitike we seemed to have signed Ken Dodds diddymen

Massive game for Slot on wednesday as top 8 in the CL is a must for his future

I’m of the feeling now that Arne Slot is under extreme pressure for his job, champs league apart it’s been pretty dire, 18 odd points from 54 is nowhere near good enough. Unable to beat Leeds twice. Burnley Sunderland , and scraped past wolves 2-1. We’ve gone from champions to also rans.

another manager.

The guy that will make you all happy,... Alonso.

I think the only obvious one would be Xabi

The big question is whether he was available when Slot was appointed. As a club, we're pretty methodical and careful. We'll wait six months and spend the big bucks on Van Dijk, not panic and get someone else in when it doesn't happen.

So for me there are two alternatives. 1. Liverpool spoke to Alonso, but he said his dream was Real and Liverpool thought they'd lose him once they came knocking and so moved to the next one down the list. 2. Liverpool spoke to Alonso but after weighing everything up thought Slot was the better choice.

If it's 2, then it all depends on how they see this season. Is it just a transitional one where the new players are adapting and they're united in thinking there's better to come.

If it's 1, then do they just go for it as he might not be available in the summer or later?

They have reportedly sounded out his availability and his willingness
to take on the job, without speaking to him directly.

Yes and yes.

Good win against whoever it was we played last night but give me a nervy 1-0 and no injury to Frimpong any day.

TameTheTiger - I actually had a speculative bet on UTD for top 2 at 18/1 yesterday, though I’d be well happy if they miss out on top 5.

Obviously 4-1 was a great result but Newcastle deserved to take the lead and if they had got to half-time in front it could have been very different. Game went a bit crazy for 5 minutes and boy did EkitikeLove capitalise.,
Given other results this weekend it was imperative we got the three points. Chelsea and Man Utd getting injury time winners is a real kick in the teeth.

Still have to worry how we will get on against more defensive teams, but City at home next which could be any score.Happy

Liverpool's, like City here, big problem still remains, on the turnover they are easy to get at, going the other way though Wirtz and Ekitike are destructive.

60 million for an uncapped 20 year old playing in the french league ? 3 times more than guehi. i hope they know what theyre doing !

Personally, I love signings like this. Basically means the geeks really really like him. If they think this kid is a good deal at £55m, then how good do they think he's gonna become? Guehi's good and would have been a MacAllister-like bargain at the price - and yeah, we should have tried harder to force it - but he's probably at his ceiling. The boffins seem to think this lad could be much better.

hes looked good against french league strikers for less than 20 games, and that means youre a 55-60 million player ? and why cant we have him now seeing as we are paying so much ?

Elegant on the ball. Aggressive trying to win it, likes tackling high up the pitch, and like cross field passing. Seems like a lot of money. But France is the home of good ballers these days. There’ll be YouTube up on him by tomorrow latest probably
