Hard hard work - would help if Xhaka was not in the side - gave the ball away in the 82nd and 84th minutes when were're 1-2 up ffs. Looking threadbare on the bench too.

That was an important win.
If they’d have scored with that free-kick in the last minute I think I might have strangled Mustafi. Xhaka and Mustafi are two peas in a pod, on their day they’re good players but their decision making leaves a lot to be desired. Mkhitaryan again flattered to deceive. He’s starting to remind me of Oxlade-Chamberlain when he was with us - there’s a good player there but at the moment he’s just not effective. Happy days, up the Arsenal. |

We had 6 players in their area, including the front 3, both WB's and our DM - inside the last minute of injury time in the 1st half when we were 1-0 up. That kind of thing ought to be simple enough to address

I'm not sad at all, in fact I'm quite a chipper soul. I'm looking forward to Spurs tearing you a new one at the weekend.

Another win. All good despite a few hairy scary moments.
Glad to see that Emery has sussed out Ozil. There will be plenty of games where we will need blood and guts as opposed to intermittent vision flair and touch, I have said that for years and it looks as if our new man has got hold of that particular issue. We still have plenty of grey areas and if i am to be brutally honest I feel we have over achieved so far. Lets see what the rest of the season brings, |
|
By:
It will be a good test on Sunday. Spuds have been way ahead of us for the past couple of seasons and I too feel we have over-achieved so far, so Sunday could be a reality check.
We have a Ropey League game on Thursday and he simply has to leave all the starting XI for the derby at home, especially given that it's in the Ukraine. Spuds have a huge game too on Wednesday, but they will have to go for that one. |

You should be pleased, no good taking your best players to an unknown venue thousands of miles away when the Spurs are coming Sunday. The same Spurs who have demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubt the brainlessness of doing so.

jed you are in fact a sad little fella (but a brave little soldier) as demonstrated again and again on more than one forum. I suspect you will disappear for a while if you lose on Sunday as has also been evidenced on here. You're brave though nontheless.

Thick-skinned and foolish, I would call him. How's his 'fantastic value' bet on the 'goal machine' Saido Berahino getting on, to be top Championship Goalscorer, I wonder?

Does anyone think Arsenal are a top 4 finish side?
I kinda do. I know they have not ashley being playing that well but they have a good squad, two good forwards, two good center midfielders although only one of them starts and one good defender who is injured and a good goal keeper who now starts, plus Ozil and Mikha and Rameses. Spuds and Chelski are both around 1.4 which makes good sense to lay both and Arse are about 2.86 I think Chelski have done rather well this season as have Spurs considering their squad is very thin. I am hoping they stay in Chapiones League and prioritise it as they have Bob Hope of winning the League. I expect them to suffer in February and March and I expect Arsenal to come on strong about that time and the usual good finish to the season. Both Spurs and Chelski have relatively easy games coming up so their price is more likely to go down but Arsenal have Spurs, Manure and Liverpool coming up soon. If they survive that relatively unscathed they may be in a good position to crack on after Christmas. I am relatively hopeful for Arsenal's progression over the next few months and see an angle to ashley make some money from it. I would be interested to hear anyone's opinion as to our Arsenal's chances of top four |
|
By:
A good team selection, rests the first team for the more important Spuds game.
|
|
By:
I think Spuds will almost certainly end up top four as they have a run (after us of course) of 13 very easy games. You would expect Citeh and Liverpool to end up in the top three with Spuds so the question is, can Arsenal finish above Chelski, Man Yoo and the rest? Possibly, but we would may need to improve to do so and I think the market is about right but I wouldn't put you off laying Chelski at 1.4. They don't convince me and injuries to Hazard and their creative players could have a big effect.

By:
Thanks pixie,
I am surprised how well Chelsea have done this season but like you say an injury to Hazard and things will change. I still think Spurs are a light squad and things may catch up with them and that is why I think laying both Spurs and Chelsea might be a good bet as I am convinced all three will trade around the same price later in the season as there will be a real dogfight for 4th. Not sure I want Arsenal or Spurs to win the Europa league or have a chance rather. Arsenal have the forwards. Kane and Hazard carry their teams. |
|
By:
After we beat Spuds on Sunday, we can easily go on and win the league.

The person that was holding us back for years finally left last season, so its onwards and upwards as far as i'm concerned

Kolasinac cannot play in a 4 so we surely will play 3 at the back if he plays, or 4 if Emery plays with Niles at LB (can't see it but the only alternative).
|
|
By:
I think Holding going away in the Europa was a red herring. 343 BL - SM, SP, RH - HB GX (I would prefer MN)LT SK - MO AL (if fit) PEA
Or radical selection 3511 BL - SM, SP, RH - HB GX MN LT SK - MO PEA (won't happen of course) |

Big game for us this one. We really need to take the 3 points. Will he risk Ozil ? If he does then he simply has to perform. In the top games you need your top players to step up and carry the fight. Lets see

the bloke i wanted OUT FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS and the likes of pixie and mersontheperson thought was god, Ar se someone????.anyway, that was in the stale past.... Emery made two brilliant tactical decisions at HT, that the last manager wouldn't have dreamt of. Onwards and Upwards.... Wenger was like Brexit, everyone 5hit scared if he left, not realising how wonderful it'd be when we outed him. In EMERY AND BREXIT We're away from the shackles that held us back |
