I would say its time to get a right good Rangers man in charge.

With apologies to NL:
This is a right-away letter, I've got to mail it today Straight to my main inspirer, says urgent from Anfield way Its got this heart inside it, the postage is my soul Contains a message from millions, says Steve don't go A thousand Scousers callin', but it ain't quite the same You've got a knack for fallin', and it's stamped with your own brand name We's all beggin’, as captain you must know You bring a message to millions, says Steve don't go I said Steve don't go, Don't take my fun Steve don't go, Steve don't go We miss Shanks, Paisley and Fagan, it's hard to breathe with that loss But I still got you brother, don't nail yourself to a cross I watch you lead the pack, you put the drive into my soul You bring a message to millions, says Steve don't go |

Klopps's assistant has suddenly gone, big vacancy just opened up. What now Stevie ?

Today is decision day I think.

Can you really imagine Rangers appointing a catholic with his history of under age sex allegations, gagging orders, assault charges. The only thing going for them/him is his falling out with Rodgers.
It would be akin to putting Giggs in charge of United. |
By:
A pathetic bid to con their decent fans ..only cash they are looking forward too is next season tickets..poor fans will
snap them up if Gerrard is appointed...only for the house of cards to tumble and the duplicitous Saffer pocketing whatever he can. |
By:
Bye the way whats this pish about "the door is open for new investors"..was it ever closed?
By:
Hopefully we'll know one way or the other by lunchtime tomorrow.
Be the biggest appointment in Scottish football since Souness. Forget Brenda, nobody down south wanted him. Seen as footballs David Brent. |
By:
Haven't seen kennybhoy this excited since they last sheared the sheep in Aberdeenshire.
By:
aka - Gerrard must have said YES. A lot of money in the past 1 hr. Talk is he has agreed a 3 yr deal. Will be announced tomorrow
By:
I hope that's right. A few guys on twitter seem to think it's a done deal.
BTW Plat was spot on. Fantastic PR to take the spotlight off celtic. |
By:
At last you show up ackietim..where is the money coming from?
By:
A con job to get the mugs to pay up for season tickets?
By:
A deafening silence.

By:
kenny,They've bought a EuroMillions ticket.
By:
Anyone care to put up prices on what Ranger on here will be the first to utter a phrase like 'he'll do a good job'? Considering that's what the same people said on here about their last 3 managers

By:
Sounds as if it's about to happen. What an idiot.Just another gullibilly.
By:
....does he know that he has to win the league then win CL 3 ties just to get into the champions league playoffs?
By:
It will be a bit odd if they hire a manager who isn't a manager..
It is a bit like giving a toddler a bucket and spade, sitting him down in a sandpit, and expecting him to build a skyscraper. |
By:
Every top class manager started somewhere though, and someone took a chance on them, so that doesn't really add up.
By:
Reminds me of when Glenn Hoddle became player-manager at Swindon
By:
Proved himself in the lower leagues and got the Chelsea and England jobs. Surely Gerrard trying the same thing.
By:
For every Pep Guardiola success story, there are a hundred John Barnes disasters
![]() |
By:
Of course. But people shouldn't just write him off because he was a good player imo.
Nobody has any idea whether he will be a good Manager or not yet. |
By:
Surely the main issue at Rangers is the stability of the club and whether they have financial resources to challenge Celtic irrespective of who is the Manager or Coach
By:
correct anx....no one is forthcoming with where the money is coming from...they have loans already out for millions.
By:
I for one wish him luck but still think he should have cut his teeth at MK Dons when offered. If he fails his only option might be MK Dons next time out. It is impossible to say how he will perform but to compete with Celtic is going to be a tough ask and that is what the fans want; if they don't get it, he'll be out in no time at all. Strange move but at least he's aiming high(ish)
By:
I think starting your management career with Rangers is a world apart from starting your career at Swindon. I think expectations are a little higher at Ibrox. He won`t last long. Nice guys don`t make managers and that`s a fact.

There's lots of crazy comparisons going round (like Graeme Souness) but prob the closest comparison is Roy Keane (huge name, great playing career, box office on and off the pitch)
Rangers supporters will be praying Stevie G's coaching and managerial skills turn out to be a lot better than Keano's, though ![]() |
By:
Jeez, comparing Gerrard as a player to Keane
![]() |
By:
To compare Swindon with Rangers displays a complete lack of knowledge of Scottish football and I`m a Celtic supporter.
