 Never stood up 4 his daughter and sold the story 4 some wonga! Would have dragged Carragher out of his Range over demanded he apologised to my daughter then chinned the filthy coont!but then again I wouldnt be filming a ex footballer in a car next to me and then winding him up in with the window side down on my daughter! Jamie Carragher will hold talks with Sky Sports today after being caught on video spitting at a 14-year-old girl following Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.
The football pundit apologised on Sunday evening for the incident via Twitter but a spokesperson for Sky reprimanded the former Liverpool defender, calling his actions “unacceptable”. The incident, which was caught on a mobile phone and obtained by the Daily Mirror, came following the Saturday lunchtime match at Old Trafford, with Carragher embroiled in a tasteless episode while driving, ending with him winding down his window and spitting towards another car carrying a teenage girl. The 14-year-old United supporter was in the passenger seat while her father was driving and talking to the former England defender about the game. When the driver repeatedly mentioned the score, Carragher is heard to say: “All right”, before spitting at the car alongside his. The incident, recorded by the girl’s father, ends with the daughter saying to her dad that Carragher’s spittle had hit her in the face. In a tweet on Sunday night, Carragher wrote: “Totally out of order & Ive apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag. No excuse apologies.” However, a spokesperson for the channel said: “It’s unacceptable behaviour and we will be addressing it with Jamie.” The incident is undoubtedly an embarrassing episode for Sky Sports and will place pressure on the channel to make an example out of the 40-year-old. Carragher was due to front Monday Night Football programme as Sky’s cameras travel to Stoke v Manchester City but much will depend on the outcome of Monday’s meetings. Carragher has been a mainstay of Sky Sports’ football coverage since he retired from the game in 2013, now earning an annual salary thought to be in excess of £1m. |

However, I'd be interested to know what preceded it. Did the filmer suddenly pick his phone up while driving along and then spot Carragher and give him stick? Or had it been going on before and he knew he was riled and wanted to get him in trouble? I'd also love to know what happened after. If someone gobbed on my daughter, I'd be concentrating on ensuring they needed their jaw re-wiring, not sending it to you've been framed or summat. |

Disgusting reaction, but the father clearly is a bell. If you're sat in the car with your mates then fair enough, but what sort of idiot does that with their kid sat next to them? Can also clearly hear the guy creaming his pants when he starts chanting ''Jamie Carragher, Jamie Carragher'', excited he's about to have his fifteen minutes of fame for being gobbed on from someone famous

First off if you had done that to a family member of mine whether I won or lost you'd have to be putting your hands up. However the fathers reaction said no more to me than ker Ching ! Still hopefully he'll get enough compensation to cover the fine for using a mobile phone while driving, won't help the points on his license. Have to say Carragher HAS to be gone which is a shame given he comes from a city where there is already high unemployment!

Dad should get done for careless/reckless/dangerous driving (whichever category it is) and probably will be. Carragher will be sacked/resign depending on how it's dressed up. Never personally liked him as a pundit, but he's going to pay a heavy price for what he's done. The irony is that Carragher would be the most vocal critic if said offence happened on the football pitch.

Obviously Carragher's behaviour is disgusting but the reaction of the father amazed me..shows where his real concern lies, not for the welfare of his child but the fact that he got the incident on film.

Jamie Carragher has hit out at Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings for his part in an altercation with Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he appeared to stamp on the head of the Manchester United striker.
Ibrahimovic appeared to take his revenge at the resulting corner by elbowing Mings hard in the side of the head – an incident which led to Andrew Surman getting sent off for pushing the Swede – but Carragher labelled the Cherries’ defender as “disgraceful”. "The one from Mings is just horrific and he deserves a smack for that," said Carragher. That really pissed me off because Carra was being judge, jury and executioner for what was imho almost certainly accidental. Never forgot Carraghers crass reaction to that incident. |
