Winning the Premier league with an average club was a huge achievement, very harsh to sack him now.

Sorry to rain on this love-in but tinkerman has been given the old tin tack because, like pretty much every manager in the EPL, he has failed to reconcile playing in europe with the demands of english football.
A new guy will come in, look at the problems and change the team.
They will start winning games and thus stay up.
Morgan and Drinkwater in my opinion ought not to be seeing too much first team action in the near future.
Funny how wenger gets the top 4 every year innit, yet he is supposed to be underachieving...

Assume the owners envisaged a tanking against Sevilla and couldn't be arsed changing the date on the sacking letter.

Arsenal 5th is a very poor season in the EPL ,  Leicester  5th in the Championship is a good season as a rule of thumb

Worst sacking decision ever. One of the last true gentlemen to be involved in a game that for me is morally bankrupt.

The Leicester board have managed to create something I didn't believe possible.  They will have now encouraged almost every neutral fan who wanted them to win the League last year to now wish for them they go down..

often the case when we have these sackings that neutrals think are mad that the fans of the actual team in general think the sacking was the right decision

Absolute madness.

Reckon he would have kept them up.

He did something which was truly remarkable, won the league with a 5000/1 team, one of the favs to get relegated!

Got them out of the group stages in the champs league (and are far from out of the comp).

The budget of Leicester will always make them towards the bottom end of the table.

They have memories of last season that their fans have never witnessed  and are unlikely to witness again.

Should be given the keys to the city, not his P45.

Not comparing arsenal or leicester,
I am comparing wenger with jose, lvg, rafa, brodge, moyes, mancini, pellegrini...
i believe it is pretty much impossible for a manager to maintain a european campaign and keep a team in the top4 over a number of seasons.
Wenger is the only one to do it.
Because he plays the best football.
His arsenal teams play possession football, it doesnt knacker out his team throughout the course of the hard english season.
Now we know why the arsenal board keep him on...

Decisions like this are just sick.

Oh boo bleeding hoo
Tinkerman got the tin tack off abramovic after beating the arsenal invincibles in the champions league
He got it off roma after narrowly being pipped by jose and his inter team to the serie a scudetto.
He's a big boy
He has been handsomely rewarded.
He is still a good manager and fabulously wealthy.
He just failed failed with leicester where plenty of others failed before. Including jose
No one died.

strange one indeed given they seem to have no one lined up to take over
So to shake it up they have the number 2 who noone has heard of Laugh
a 1-0 win and they are in the last 8 of the CL
Think when he came out and said he had been too loyal to the players who won the PL was pretty spot on
Needed to shake it up as Jose found to his costs as well
So the last 2 managers to win the PL have been sacked the next season - might be a new curse GL Conte

Of course they will blame tactics to deflect the blame from themselves

Shocking decision. Ranieri is a class act and deserved more respect. No respect these days, all about the money, pathetic really.

Good luck Claudio.

It's the Premier League. Why pretend it was ever about anything other than money ? Who is going to risk 100m for loyalty ?  Not one team would have done any different in the same circumstances

Look the yanks have been doing it this way for years.
team underperforms, the coach goes.
The New York Yankees under George Steinbrenner.
He used to bring in a new guy every year in the 1970s, the players would never take to him so George would press the button and go back to billy martin for the post season.
And yes they would win the world series.
Like Abramovic 30 years on..

FFS
who gives a flying one about the flucking fans?
If you are a wenis who goes around the country following a football team week in week out you either have too much money or you need to get a life.
There was a survey a couple of years ago and it transpires a football home crowd breaks down like this
33% have been following the team less than 2 years
33% for 2 to 5 years
33% over 5 years.
The myth of  being born supporting the one club is one of the bigger pieces of bs in the game.
How many on here have supported the same team since first being interested in football?
Football supporters are a mob. WIth a mob mentality and all the ensuing ugliness involved.
Fluck em.
Nothing more than customers

sacking managers doesnt always improve performance - I see blackburn have a new manager - they won the EPL omce and look where they are numerous managers later
