I thought if they got spanked last night it might happen ..... a 1-0 win and they are in the last 8.
Seven months after leading them to a mind blowing achievement ,the so called beautiful game at it's worst yet again. All that matters in English top flight football is to finish 17th or above , nothing else matters one jot . |

What an absolute disgrace, the most disgraceful sacking ever imo.
Even if they got relegated they should have stuck with him, he won them the Premiership! LEICESTER. They were well in the Champions League after last nights result to, just a 1-0 win would have done at home. and still plenty of games to save themselves. Why make him fly all the way out to Southern Spain knowing you were going to sack him? 2-1 was a result, maybe the people in charge don't realise that because they don't understand football, like a lot of owners. And the players really should be ashamed of themselves, they have got him the sack with their performances, Kinda hope they get relegated no whereas before I was wanting them to stay up. Hope he gets a decent job after this. It's a big shame he was not allowed to finish this story. |

He probably should've stepped down after winning the title. Was always going to go downhill fast.

Just to add a bit of balance to that - the trouble is that he's had big jobs previously and more often than not failed. Still a very poor decision by the Leicester mugs. |

I'll be surprised if the decision wasn't made before last night's game, they were probably expecting to lose 2 or 3-nil, then it wouldn't have seemed as controversial. The good result makes it a bit more embarrassing, but their minds were probably already made up.

Absolute vermin of a club. To sack a manager that gave them a fairytale. Good riddance. Enjoy the Championship you ungrateful ****s.

He deserved the dignity of finishing the season, what is football coming to when a manager wins the title with a club like Leicester and gets sacked 9 months later.
It's all because of money, would never have happened before Sky money came in I'd say. Think the fans should protest and call for his return. |

Premier League champions Leicester have confirmed the departure of manager Claudio Ranieri.
With the Foxes hovering just one point above the relegation zone, the Italian was relieved of his duties after the team returned home from Wednesday night's 2-1 Champions League defeat to Sevilla. In announcing Ranieri's departure, the club paid tribute to his achievements as the club's "most successful...manager of all time" but said their perilous league position required action. Leicester City's statement in full Leicester City Football Club has tonight (Thursday) parted company with its First Team Manager, Claudio Ranieri. Claudio, appointed City manager in July 2015, led the Foxes to the greatest triumph in the Club's 133-year history last season, as we were crowned champions of England for the first time. His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question. However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the Club's Premier League status under threat and the Board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the Club's greatest interest. Vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: "This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City. But we are duty-bound to put the Club's long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be. "Claudio has brought outstanding qualities to his office. His skilful management, powers of motivation and measured approach have been reflective of the rich experience we always knew he would bring to Leicester City. His warmth, charm and charisma have helped transform perceptions of the Club and develop its profile on a global scale. We will forever be grateful to him for what he has helped us to achieve. "It was never our expectation that the extraordinary feats of last season should be replicated this season. Indeed, survival in the Premier League was our first and only target at the start of the campaign. But we are now faced with a fight to reach that objective and feel a change is necessary to maximise the opportunity presented by the final 13 games." First Team preparations for Monday's Premier League fixture against Liverpool will resume on Saturday, with Assistant Manager Craig Shakespeare and First Team Coach Mike Stowell taking charge of the squad until a new manager is appointed. Assistant Manager and First Team Coach Paolo Benetti and First Team Sport Science and Conditioning Coach Andrea Azzalin have also parted company with the Club and leave with our thanks for their service and best wishes for the future. The Board will now begin the recruitment process and will make no further comment until that process is completed. |

Your average footballer is as thick as dog 5hit. Look at Vardy.....If he has 2 brain cells he'd be lucky |
