neither side is interpreting the correct protocol imo
Or James Doleman isn't. |

By:
As this was 2014 or whenever, has the barrister asked Coral if they have altered their T & C to clear up any ambiguity.

'Poole ends, Sandison for Coral rises and begins by accusing Kinloch of "concealing his vast background in gambling" and being "self serving"'
Clearly there is a requirement for gambling with Corals that you must not have done much of it before. |
|
By:
How much would Kinloch cash out for now
I say 100k and run |
|
By:
Id take £100k if I was him.

punter is obviously dodgier than the bookie in this case as he thought he could pull a fast one.
rangers weren't relegated - even with a points deduction they weren't in a relegation spot. they were thrown out of the league because of financial problems - some legitimate and some imagined. |
|
By:
that's exactly my understanding of it outpost
defo pulling a fast 1 but does have a case that there is ambiguity and coral should have offered an ex gratia payment before it ever got to this stage |
|
By:
Even if the judge favours the bookie, should still recommend they still have to cough up 40% of bet because of the ambiguity side of it. Can see that **** Clare on morning line on sat "and as a goodwill gesture we gave him 10k"

Sometimes Corals man doth protest too much.
Whether it is Oldco/Newco, 'relegation' of demotion, or whether the odds were too high. Typical lawyer tactics |
|
By:
wonder if pre-court he would have accepted 10k which would have been 100 quid @ 100/1??
|
|
By:
I wonder what if he was offered his £100 back when he tried to collect

I'd be wary of believing everything on twitter is an accurate summing up of what is happening. I don't see how he gets paid out in this. Rangers ceased to exist in any league in Scotland for a period of time due to the fact they were liquidated then re applied to the first devision and then the third division. That is so far away from relegation as it could possibly be.

By:
who is paying his court fees btw??
|
|
By:
Does judge have discretion to say 'Make it £100k'.
I am not sure. |
|
By:
Case should be void anyway
Payout should be 250k plus his 100 stake back |
|
By:
Does judge have discretion to say 'Make it £100k'.
I am not sure. No either the contract means one thing or it doesn't he can't just make it up. |
|
By:
I dont think he will get paid out.
Bias of judiciary towards fine and outstanding corporate body against low-life gambler. |

James Doleman @jamesdoleman 5m5 minutes ago
Sandison tells the court the word "relegation" comes from ancient Rome from when someone was exiled after displeasing the emperor. Bringing in the Romans now FFS |
