No answer yet from the yes campaign:

Nobody has said you can't use sterling. What they have said is that you won't be part of a currency union. Therefore Scotland won't have a central bank and will therefore be using a foreign currency with no say in what happens with that currency.

Haven't been really following it that much but it seems to me that there is no plans for a currency other than to use the GBP or Euro. Either of those leaves Scotland with no independence banking wise imho

Grantcking - what a shocker! voting YES does not mean putting Salmond or even SNP in charge - general election will follow in about years time to determine that

Can't imagine there being a Yes vote and putting Salmond in charge, unless there's free beer on election days Laugh

Its not a vote for Salmond its a vote for independence.
Once we have our own elections if people are not happy with him or his party then we can vote them out for another gov of OUR choice.
Compare that to our current status quo.

Grantcking - voting YES doesn't mean Salmond will rule the future Scotland.  The people will have a choice in 2015 to put who they want into power.  We won't have the crap of ex OxBridge ruling the people of Scotland.

An example of this current gov was the floods in South West England earlier in the year.  The Gov done fook all until the floods started coming closer up the Thames to Henley and co closer to their terrotory.  Wake up and smell the cofee

You do have to wonder what is driving some of this frenzied, unthinking and unblinking yes nonsense? You can't live on hatred. Make the case for a positive future for the Scots with independence but Thatcher for goodness sake? You couldn't make it up.

I'm not at all mac, if that's what the Scottish people want then they can vote for it and good luck to them. What is disappointing though is it's based on a hatred of the English rather than having anything concrete politically or economically behind it, but I guess that's all Salmond has to offer. There are Welsh and Irish in the UK as well!

If scotland get independence

The English MPs will all be seething , not as if they get any monies from Northern Ireland

Wales im not sure about them , but they could go it alone also in a few year

It's seen as an independence from the English not from the UK and the SNP has done very well to stoke that old fire up.

Mover you have been less than complimentary re - Mr Salmond on this thread.
Maggie Thatcher was against devolution for Scotland, she also single handedly killed the conservative vote in Scotland so we have that to thank her for at least.
