I think loan signings should be totally banned in football across the board.
Clubs have 2 transfer windows to recruit a big enough squad and this young players getting experience at lower level football nonsense serves no purpose for the player or club - look at our Chelsea FC. The older players should be sold or released if no intention to play them. Got to admit, I am becoming concerned about the lack of investment in the Rangers playing squad given the fact King stated publicly that he would spend whatever it takes. There is still a couple of weeks for new signings but it will be disappointing if a huge club like Rangers spend no money and the squad is reliant on loan signings. |
By:
Why concerned Westender?
MW had to evaluate the players already at the club before knowing what his priorities were. He's only been in place for a short period and still has time for a few more signings. To talk of a lack of investment at this stage makes no sense. |
By:
BTW investing in the company can only take effect through a shares issue as anything else comes in the form of a loan and DK, along with the other 2 directors, has already loaned the club cash on an unsecured basis.
By:
aka - As stated before it's well known that King hasn't a bean. Why are ur supporters turning a blind eye to this? The current team is NOT good enough to win the Championship. As westender has said King was coming out with we will spend what it takes. He has spent fook all. U might think Phil is mad but go and read his blog. Mini me has once again gone begging to Big Mike

I'll deal with Philthegobchyte first then the rest in order. I wouldn't go near that bitter cants blog.
FFS a grown man who spends his whole life trying to dig up stories about the Rangers. Guys to be pitied. How do you know that DK doesn't have money? To say it's well known is hardly a compelling argument. As regards spending money. Everybody has been going on about the amount of cash previous boards have squandered yet are now moaning about a more appropriate approach. As I said previously MW had to appraise his current squad before adding to it. You say the current team isn't good enough. what is the current team, I'd love to know? BTW PM wasn't in discussion with MA but with SD. Rangers are quite rightly trying to negotiate a better commercial deal rather than go through the courts. |
By:
I did say he still had 2 weeks aka.
The manager will get the right players in but I am no fan of loan signings per the post above. |
By:
I think in our situation Westender loan signings are ideal.
Lots of players won't come because of the league we are in. |
By:
BTW much has been made about us losing 11 players with people saying they must be replaced but that's a nonsense.
2 were keepers, Robinson and Simonsen, and hardly a loss. Add to that Faure who hardly featured. Of the rest Boyd, McCulloch and Black all looked past their best. Mohsni another not good enough leaving Foster, Smith Hutton and Daly who might have benefitted from better coaching. I'd like to see us recruit a quality creative midfield player and striker and I'd be happy. |
By:
Still here:
Bell in goal but nailed on to be No 2choice at best. McGregor Wallace And Zaliuskas in defence. Murdoch, Crawford, Aird, Law, Shiels and templeton in mid-field. Miller, Clark and Gallagher in attack. Some of these players went backwards after joining but I'm hopeful the current management will get the best out of them. |
By:
aka - lets be honest your fans were expecting a lot more than what u have named above. That squad with a couple of loanees is NOT strong enough. It's a worse squad than last without doubt. Hibs, Falkirk & St Mirren will not be fearing that team
By:
WE WILL SPEND WHATEVER IS NEEDED(as long as it is less than £1)
![]() ![]() |
By:
I'd disagree with that Kriskin.
Lots of these players still at the club didn't get a chance under Ally and will benefit from a more attacking style of play which MW has promised. We had too big a squad last season and with the current recruits and maybe a couple more should look as strong but hopefully perform better. |
By:
bought the season ticket ackie?..didnae think so..blah blah blah.
![]() |
By:
Maybe you will be right. Only time will tell. One thing for sure that squad aint winning the League Cup or Scottish Cup
By:
Ally played without a midfield and players like Templeton, Aird and Shiels all suffered because of it.
These guys were all thought good enough at one time, especially for that division, and I'm sure they'll come good again The only thing that matters is getting back up so the league cup and Scottish cup can wait until the following season. ![]() |

By:
it would be crazy to spend millions on players to win the championship.
once they get back into the SPL then it will be time to spend money on players. |
By:
A wise man once said 'This has to be said about Rangers, as a Scottish Football club they are a permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace. This country would be a better place if Rangers did not exist." A prescient comment given they are currently in liquidation.
Comical akabula spin on events at Snake Mountain are are laughable. Not a penny invested by the glib and shameless liar of a chairman to date and a rookie manager having to get his players from Happy Shopper. Make as much noise as you like Sevco fans but your clumpany is bout to be Donald Ducked yet again. |

Has the GLIB spent any money yet? The **** is one of the biggest liars out there. U have to laugh at the spin of succelent lamb media in Scotland stating the new club are going with a younger team. NOT one has the balls to question mini Murray and the GLIB to ask about the 30million. Not one player bought. They couldn't even match Wigan's asking price of 150K for some right back. Andrew Halliday is now the new Messi on Bears Den. Fook me u couldn't make it up
By:
You can pull a team together costing zero, playing good football and winning the league.
Reserve your criticism until you actually see whether the team is improving or not from the rabble since Ally McCoist was manager. King pledged to spend whatever it takes - there will be no excuses if Rangers fail to get promoted next season. Rangers have a better manager than Celtic now and he is building a team that will compete with Celtic. |
By:
Westender - Warburton has NOT won anything in his short career. If that current squad draw us in any of the cups we will hammer them. The fans will turn on MW when results go against them. Hibs fans are not worried with this current team at Ibrox in regards to winning the Championship. What has happened to the South African's millions???
By:
Why the fook should Rangers spend fortunes in the championship.
It wouldn't make sense. DK and the board have got it right. Get a management team in place then let them build a team to win the championship. MW says he's happy with the team that is forming. That's good enough for me. |
By:
Kriskin how do you know Hibs aren't worried about Rangers?
BTW listen to DK and he has said all along that money will be spent but not until we get to the top division. |
By:
aka - c'mon. Ur not thst stupid to be fooled by all the spin. MW was not aware of the tight budget he has to work with. The manager was expecting more help from the owner
By:
MW was told exactly what his budget was. How do I know? Well he told everyone in his first interview.
Kriskin do you know how much money the celtic directors including PL have taken out of the club in recent years? Worry about your own team. |
By:
A cash rich team we are told yet celtic continually shop at lidls.
By:
Celtic should have enough money as u say but we cannot compete with the English teams
By:
There's no money to spend. The millions have already been spent trying to get out of the lower leagues

New Rangers chairman Dave King declares Ibrox club's finances are the envy of world football |
By:
King finally took up his position at a Gers board meeting at Ibrox as a result of being passed as a "fit and proper" person by the SFA on Tuesday.
The wealthy South Africa-based businessman has vowed to bankroll the rebuilding of his boyhood heroes to the tune of tens of millions of pounds. |

And last but not least Aka heres another cracker
Rangers chairman Dave King to give new manager a king's ransom to invest RANGERS chairman Dave King last night revealed that the club’s new manager – whom he claims will be unveiled next week – can have three years’ money up front to spend on building a side capable of climbing out of the Championship and competing in the top flight. Thought you said he never promised any dough until SPL AKa???? Seems like you and the lying king have more than one thing in commom-neither put any money in and both tell porky pies ![]() ![]() ![]() |
