I used to get it from both sides because my wife's cousin played for celtic, especially if we were all sitting together watching an old firm match.
all good natured though as my family were never bigoted and never brought any of us up to be bigoted. unfortunately my wife's family were not always so open minded and she was told she was a disgrace to her religion for marrying a protestant. my kids were brought up catholic but I didn't want them indoctrinated into west of scotland bigotry so we moved to england where they could choose for themselves how religious they wanted to be, without the pressure of anybody else trying to project their views onto them. thankfully they now accept people they meet for who they are and not for which school they went to, so at least that worked for them. pity some on this forum weren't so tolerant and understanding. |

Your right Geeseyerdosh, having lost an entire team and having started from scratch Rangers dont have many BIG MONEY names ,but there are one or two that know where the onion bag is and know whats expected of them ,and a few youngsters not far from making the grade ,as i have said before its going to take time to rebuild and dont be expecting too much too soon .

I would love to see the tory party lose the next election by a landslide having voted labour all my life.
growing up in a scottish mining village all our parents voted labour so it was only natural that the kids grew up supporting the labour party. the men mostly worked in the pits and catholic and protestant worked side by side and if there was a problem down the mine, nobody asked the religion of the rescuers. i grew up playing football with catholics and protestants together and the only time there was rivalry between us was when rangers played celtic. people using religion to further their own hatred and bigotry should be put down to make the world a better place. |
